This game is pretty awesome. I got it for PS4 (Wasn't sure if my PC would run it) but reading about how well optimized it is, I'll probably pick it up on PC at a later date.
I'm glad I went with my gut instinct and kept my preorder; this game is made for screenshots and videos because of all the crazy shit that can happen. My younger brother has gotten into it just as much and the coolest thing I've seen is from one of his sessions where harpooned a driver and pulled him out. The driver just flings in a gigantic arc straight into the ground.
My only big wish is that the game was harder, but I'm still in the starter area.
The game definitely amps up the difficulty, especially if you try to move ahead with the Story or Wasteland missions without doing the earlier ones.

Maybe they move things that they don't need for the game anymore to the "Big Nothing" for some reason.
The big nothing looks like an awesome place to explore.

Lights out in the distance... and no "big nothing" warning.
That road looks like something out of a bad Garry's Mod map
I don't think this is a spoiler, but in any case, don't click on this image url unless you know what the big structure is in the Dunes, or want to know.
the buzzards are so fucking interesting, moreso than the russian-speaking bandits they were portrayed as in the movie
i wanna know more about their society
Finished this game yesterday, had a blast
ending spoilers:
[sp]The ending was kinda meh but it was in character for everyone more or less, I was a bit irked by the fact that Max essentially killed Chum, but then I remembered that Max was still Mad (heh) at him for 'stealing' the car, so it makes sense he has little regard for him. Also game Max is more of a dick than film Max which I kinda like.[/sp]
Kinda wish the vehicle combat was more elaborate with the ability to jump between cars, and having Chum drive the Opus after you if you're in a different vehicle.
Near end spoilers:
[sp]Also the only mission I hated was the race for the V8 truck, holy fuck, I had to retry it for like 6 times before I figured out I needed to take the armor off to stay close to it lol[/sp]

Why is this game only £12 on Cdkeys?
probably a russian key that requires a vpn to play?
CD keys doesn't usually do things like that, i mean i know they probably are some sketchy ones on ther but it's never like that, who knows
well I saw this before and it requires a vpn so idk
its been 17 euro on g2play since preorders... so yeah.
All I see on CD keys is "region: worldwide"
oh didnt see above, but yeah, those preorder ones didnt require vpn.

If you can run the Phantom Pain, you can DEFINITELY run this game.
Also, this game is good enough that I streamed it for 12 hours straight and didn't get bored of it.
I got a really nice glitch out of that:

Debating purchasing this game but I've heard really mixed reviews.
Thoughts?

It's so weird how much stuff is just laid out there in perfectly good detail. Like the pictures I posted, with the entire little Grand Canyon-looking formations and bridges. Unused, or to-be-used material? :o

Konami is pretty terrible but they aren't a supervillain. They're not going to put money into fake reviews to discredit another game that released on the same day over a game they would've cancelled if it wasn't nearly finished
You know PT? That would've been MGSV too if they hadn't already put so much money into the game.

He wasn't genuinely blaming Konami for bad reviews

There are people who would be serious and he didn't indicate at all that it was a joke.
My heart belongs to Metal Gear right now but I'm glad this game has its own charm and character to it, definitely going to play the shit out of it the second I'm fulfilled with MGS (which probably won't be for a month)

if i indicate it's a joke it's no longer funny
i like to assume that we're not quite at the point where we have to expect everyone we communicate with on the internet to be a blind idiot

As far as I can tell, the game is a solid open world game with a great atmosphere and environments that really puts you in the mood to slowly conquer the Wasteland, something few open world games made me do (I usually clear the bare necessities only because I'm not a fan of scouting the game's map aimlessly just to a percentage's sake)
The two main issues I could bring up are some of the objectives being monotonous to clear (like clearing mine fields or checking random locations hoping to find something wortwhile aside from few scraps and useless collectables) and the on foot combat being incredibly easy

this game is fun. like, really fun.
you won't be really mentally challenging yourself, combat's fairly braindead and there's no real puzzles or minigames to solve. but despite that, it really feels fantastic.
the game looks amazing, you can see that clearly, and unlike a lot of recent AAA titles it never once feels clunky, or that the game has cheated against you. My main gripe with Far Cry 3 was that menus took a long time to load, and were a pain to crawl through to get to what you wanted. not so with Mad Max. You press escape, it instantly appears. You press the tab you want, do whatever, press escape and hop right back into the action.
i feel i should point out though that mad max isnt a survival game. There's water and fuel, obviously, but you should never run out of fuel and most places with water are marked on the map and refill it completely. It's more like the hardcore elements from F:NV, hunger, thirst, sleep - you're not likely to be grasping for fuel or water, except perhaps in the very early game. So if you're looking for the genuine wasteland surviving experience, this isn't it.
if you're looking for the best damn triple-A action game for the PC in probably a decade, this is it.

Man, fuck the reviews. This game's great.
Is upgrading the strongholds to the max something wortwhile?
I've basically unlocked everything in Jett's stronghold, but 1000 scraps are a lot to ask of me
Found this bad boy today:

Agreed. I feel like it falls into the same trap many other open-world games fall into; adding a silly amount of monotonous and sometimes downright boring things to do in an attempt to pad the game out.
I'm enjoying the game but I can't help but sigh a little when I need to go across the land to tear down more scarecrows.
