they're the competition, of course valve doesn't want their name getting around. shit, i've rarely bought games directly from steam for the past year or so now, no point in when i can get it through a website for 50% off and still be given a steam code. i understand the developers need the dosh for tech support and paying them and what not, but for the small amount of people who use 3rd party websites, there's easily twice as many still paying full price on steam, along with that the console players are all dumb enough to pay $60 for everything that comes out. back to the game, a fury road enb would be cash.
i'm pretty sure all you need is sweetfx or whatever. all you have to do is add some blue shadowing and orange highlights. enb would just overcontrast the game even more than it already is [editline]29th August 2015[/editline]
You guys are slowly convincing me to buy the game early
better make your mind up dude because that dlc car looks really sweet
I know people are saying that this game is going to get shat on by MGS5 at launch but I don't really see this as a game that is going to be totally lost on release. Obviously video games based on other non-video games franchises have a rocky history its fair to say. I think once the reviews come out it should start selling better than it did in the pre-release stage and it will probably help as well once the players of MGS5 start looking for another game to play.
when I made my original post that derailed the thread for a good page or so about mgs5 dominating the market in comparison, i kind of feel like it'll be the other way around now. the only people that talk about metal gear and the hype train for it are like hardcore gamers, but everyone that i work with have no idea what metal gear even is i feel like it'll be split pretty even down the middle. we'll see though! obviously both will be a success. either way by mid september both games will be long forgotten. i'm pretty sure konami will bleed metal gear dry though with micro-transactions and updates that add multiplayer or whatever it is that they plan on doing, so mgs will undoubtedly have a longer lifespan that being said though i feel like mad max will stay fun for a long time down the road much like how far cry 3 is. i still prefer that over most other exploration games since it always feels fresh every time i boot it up again [editline]29th August 2015[/editline] biggest concerns should be the end-game. is it going to be ridiculously easy by the time you're at the end? that's my biggest problem with free-roam games these days
So wait when exactly does this game release in the UK? The store page says Aug 31 but that it will unlock in two days, which is Sep 1.
I can only download 30 GB every month thanks to a scummy american ISP (my only option). The game is over 20 GB. Why the hell didn't I bought a retail version... :suicide:
Can we be the 31th now?
So wait when exactly does this game release in the UK? Got mine pre-loaded AND getting MGSV on Tuesday, but i start a new semester of uni on monday. Welp, gonna have to make a tough life decision next week
Got to play Mad Max at pax, it was a blast. There were even Mad Max ubers, they were all hodgepodge wasteland cars and it was awesome. One of them was even the classic interceptor.
Got my preload going, because I got my key from GMG today! Also bought the original trilogy on blu-ray to marathon in preparation for the game and fury road on tuesday. [t]http://i.imgbox.com/E8C5yWqS.png[/t]
Wait so the game can already be played on PS4? [editline]30th August 2015[/editline] I'm confused
Yea I agree this looks much better
I can't even tell which parts are the movie for certain Edit:
they're the competition, of course valve doesn't want their name getting around. shit, i've rarely bought games directly from steam for the past year or so now, no point in when i can get it through a website for 50% off and still be given a steam code. i understand the developers need the dosh for tech support and paying them and what not, but for the small amount of people who use 3rd party websites, there's easily twice as many still paying full price on steam, along with that the console players are all dumb enough to pay $60 for everything that comes out. back to the game, a fury road enb would be cash.
They aren't competition they're unlicensed sellers who've been known to outright steal the keys they sell lol. Steam accounts get deactivated from time to time from those CD keys I'm not talking about greenman and all the other legitimate sites, they don't get removed, I'm talking about sites that have literally been known to steal the keys, like, paying them is more harmful than piracy. You're also pretty likely to not be supplied the preorder bonus here just take a pseudo pamphlet about it, this pretty much sums it all up you could also watch TotalBiscuit's video about how 7000 Sniper Elite 3 keys from G2Play got deactivated because they were stolen from the company https://www.reddit.com/r/GameDeals/comments/2yhlw4/key_resellers_and_what_they_mean_for_you/ [editline]29th August 2015[/editline]
better make your mind up dude because that dlc car looks really sweet
Fortunately WB has rarely made something an actual preorder exclusive, it's likely just timed. Only time I can think of is how Deathstroke for Origins never got re-released

You're also pretty likely to not be supplied the preorder bonus
most of the time they buy the keys from foreign distributors from countries like russia and brazil where the exchange rate to USD or euros or whatever causes games to be like 20 dollars a pop instead of around 30-40 like what steam and every other retailer pay for. on top of that licensed resellers are forced to charge 60 dollars because that's the msrp value. they have to charge that or else they can risk losing the ability to sell from that distributor again, just like they get punished for releasing games/movies early. grey markets don't have that red tape since they didn't buy their games from an american/european distributor. that's why they're unlicensed it's not like anyone here is putting a gun to people's heads and telling them to buy from those places. i buy from g2play and kinguin because i absolutely refuse to pay exorbitant prices for a game that may or may not be horribly ported to computer. as a consumer and as a gamer i'm tired of getting jipped on bad ports. companies like these wouldn't be such a hit if we didn't get bit in the ass every time. i mean props to you if you want to make awareness of it or whatever but they're not as bad as you say they are, and if they do sell something illegally then it's without their knowledge. they have no control over the distributors. that being said though i think g2 has gotten it under control and now they ONLY buy from four-five places rather than from everywhere like they did before in terms of all of the horror stories with grey markets: some of those are bonafide horror stories to make them seem like they're the internet boogeymen. i've been buying games from g2play and kinguin since they've came to be and i've never gotten jipped. most people that shun them have no idea what they're even talking about. that's ill-informed internet white knights for you. props to at least knowing one side of the story though i know this thread is going to go in every which way until the game comes out but instead we could totally take a breather and turn it in to a fury road thread. i watched it again last night and i never noticed how similar the game and the movie is. it's pretty wicked. i'd love to see a game that featured the fury road style car classes and/or a co-op style function where you just climb around on a big rig and try to defend it from a war party. how could nobody want that after seeing the second half of the film? just cause, mad max edition

I bought both. As long as I'm not paying full price I don't really care, they're 2 completely different games and it's dumb to compare them. Plus Mad Max is an SP game anyway, so it doesn't really matter if a lot of people buy it immediately or not.
Fortunately WB has rarely made something an actual preorder exclusive, it's likely just timed. The only thing I don't like so far from watching videos is Max's voice actor. Maybe it's just something I have to get used to but it just sounds off
The only thing I don't like so far from watching videos is Max's voice actor. Maybe it's just something I have to get used to but it just sounds off
He sounds a bit too gritty at times, like bordering on Christian bale Batman, but for the most part he sounds pretty great overall.
The only thing I don't like so far from watching videos is Max's voice actor. Ingame Max sounds real good to me.
Yeah but bro, they give you it because it's the base to making your own Mad Max Jacket.
It's not even the right cut. They literally just picked the first jacket they could find and went "Yeah it's black and leather close enough"
Are you talking about the voice in the gameplay clips or in the trailers, because in the trailers it sounds like a completely different actor. Ingame Max sounds real good to me.
yeah, in all of the videos max only says maybe like five sentences in total. he's a man of few words so you can't really tell if his voice is good/bad. at least he's australian [editline]30th August 2015[/editline]
It's not even the right cut. Curious. This game just got pulled off the Steam store shelf?
Curious. This game just got pulled off the Steam store shelf?
It's weird tho, if you use the search function on the steam store, Mad Max doesn't appear in the results, rofl... http://store.steampowered.com/app/234140/
Maybe they're changing the release date to come out sooner [sp]haha i wish[/sp]
Maybe they're changing the release date to come out sooner [sp]haha i wish[/sp]
It'd tickle my taint if this were true.
Ok, I got it If this turns out like the Arkham Knight debacle or something I'm going to find you and eat your hearts. For reasons.
Curious. This game just got pulled off the Steam store shelf?
Still there for me. Still says it's coming out Sep 1.
Still there for me. Still says it's coming out Sep 1.
Weird. I can only find it on the Store if I go there, directly, from my copy of the game.
It's still on the front page for me. [editline]30th August 2015[/editline] Can't search for it though.
Some Avalanche game devs playing the PC version of the game. May give away plot elements/spoilers so be careful. Appears to run well from what it seems.
