I've got 1 day and 16 hours for me, which leads to August 31st at 10pm. I'm in Mountain time, not sure if steam release countdowns recognize time zones.
I've got 1 day, 16 hours here, end 2pm on the 1st
1 day 11 hours, midnight 1 Sept

About time a game is being released that doesn't leave australians fucked over where the game comes out at 2 AM or some stupid shit like that

On the other hand, The Phantom Pain comes out the same day, but 13 hours later at 3 in the morning, and no preload so won't be able to play until at least Wednesday night, so lots of time for Mad Max.
Just so everyone knows, the map is composed of regions of sorts and each region has its own theme/look to it, for example there is a region which I'm assuming was a harbour at one point that has shipyard related stuff, and the further you get into the map the more often you'll see signs of what used to be civilization such as freeway signs and crumbling buildings. Having said that though, the first region is very barren and kinda boring looking but that's because it's supposed to be wasteland, so don't let it deter you when you first start the game.
guys it releases tomorrow, aug 31, at 1pm est. if you live in 'murica anyway.
Does anyone know if the GMG pre orders get the ripper? I don't particularly mind if they don't but it's a pretty cool looking body.

Thats what GMGs own store page said, get the Ripper
[editline]30th August 2015[/editline]
plus they already gave out the cd-keys before release, so 98% sure that who got it from GMG will get it
How indepth is customization of max and the magnum opus going to be in this?
I'm having trouble finding shit about it
[QUOTE=Araknid;48574647]How indepth is customization of max and the magnum opus going to be in this?

Pretty indepth, I can give you a list of the categories but i'll spoiler tag it in case people want to see it when they first want to see the menu:
[sp]Magnum Opus upgrades are unlocked by completing sidequests and other objectives to lower the threat of the War Boys in an area. You can change the wheels, front ramming bar, body of the car, engine (you can choose either a V6 or V8 once you unlock them) and some other traits, like putting spikes all over to stop boarders. The colour of the car can be changed by completing a special kind of sidemission found in the wasteland, decals can be applied and hood ornaments can be placed on the front and back when you find them lying about. Each part gives the car different stats but there are quite a number of options for each category, roughly five or so (double for engines as the V6/V8 options).
Max has his own upgrade menu, with knuckledusters, jackets, arm wraps (for parrying) and ammo pouches. You can also grow his beard and hair. Options here are unlocked by completing challenges e.g. kill 50 War Boys, things like that. Once you complete enough you rank up and unlock more options. Weapons in the car such as the Harpoon can also be upgraded.
These are just a few of the options and they can be accessed at any time from the pause menu. They are locked initially but open up fairly quickly; you just complete challenges by doing things so its easy enough.[/sp]
Does the GMG voucher code not work anymore?
Nevermind, I was using the wrong code.
I think what will break it for me is how the vehicle combat will play out and the amount of depth you have in customising your vehicle, also not sure but surely its not just 1 vehicle we are allowed to drive in right.

Pretty sure you can drive in almost every vehicle you see, one of the devs mentioned you can drive enemy vehicles but not customize them, however they will have special attacks
Not customise them? Doubt that is good. But I will forget that if customising your only vehicle is very in depth.
I don't know what you'd do with more than one car in the wasteland.
I'm just glad you can drive just about anything. Who cares about holding on to that in a garage, just steal another one
So I was digging around in the Mad Max AppID over on SteamDB, and I found a couple dlc cars apparently? We already know what The Ripper is, but what about the Rockstar one?

Some people like me prefer using a different vehicle, because maybe I don't like it looks, maybe different handling? Maybe different gameplay?

yeah but you can customize your car in what seems to be everyone of those categories and you can always just jack a car from someone.

Spotted this review on Twitter, seems to give it a very good thumbs up. I'd recommend scrolling down and not seeing any video to avoid giving anything away because its really just the reviewer talking about it.
The character is a totally new Max right?
I dont see similarities to either Gibson or Hardy
it's essentially a non-canonical mad max from what's been said. you play as the protagonist in the mad max world and there's obvious locales like gastown featured in it, but it's all a fresh take on the universe. so to answer your question yeah, it's a whole new face

Doof wagon confirmed
I don't think I could have handled a Tom Hardy-style Mad Max video game.
