If you guys can, list your controllers as well. It'd be cool to see how different control types stack up against each other.
I hope they add motorcycles, or a mod adds them.
Here's my time.
Ended the recording a bit too quickly after I finished, hence the sudden fadeout.

Created a map with the course laid out and spawn point at the start line if you're interested.

Damn you guys weren't kidding about the physics feeling awful. It's like driving on ice
I have absolutely no idea what everyone is saying about it being well optimized. I have an Intel 2500k and a 560 ti, and the game runs at a godamn 20 frames per second on near to lowest settings. It's infuriating. I love the game, but it just runs like shit.
[editline]6th August 2013[/editline]
Metro 2033 was better optimized than this.
If any of you are interested, I made some sounds for the cars. The default v8 sound, is actually my sound from gabester's Burnside in RoR. I made all of the engine sounds for gabe's (the gavrils) cars in ror.
I tried giving them to gabe but he won't re-add me on steam because him and i fell out
http://puu.sh/3UQ2f.rar
just put them in beamng/art/sound and rename them to whatever. the pickup sound works well for the pickup and van, and the marshal sport works well with the bolide
I don't mind if the devs wish to use these sounds, they are recorded and edited by me except for the rolling sound.
is there any way to change the handbrake from toggle?

I have it running smoothly on my i5 3450 and a 560 at normal/high settings.
is there any way to change the handbrake from toggle?
From the BeamNG forums:
Open scripts\client\inputmaps\keyboard.inputmap.cs , find
moveMap.bind(keyboard, p, parkingbrake_toggle);
and after this line add:
moveMap.bind(keyboard, space, parkingbrake);
So, when you holding Space - handbrake activated (deactivate the handbrake does not work immediately).
If you're using a controller you have to dig through the other .inputmap files, apparently it makes one automatically for each device without naming the file properly.
Here's the line you're looking for for a wired Xbox 360 controller
moveMap.bind(%device, btn_r, parkingbrake_toggle);

3rd party pads need some work that can be found on the wiki.
The stuff on the wiki was so complicated Apollo asked me to configure his controller for him.

it runs great on my phenom II x6 and radeon hd 6890 so maybe you've got something else wrong

Runs fine here, i5 2500K, Radeon 7970, 16GB RAM.

It feels more like driving on a wet road tbh
[editline]boop[/editline]
On flat surfaces it feels like a wet road, off road it feels like the car is just too light
Well, It didn't go as smooth as i was hoping it to be.

And it's something around the 17 seconds over the current record.

how horrifying
This is impressive as hell. Honestly with a bigger team and so more time I can see this being used in every game ever. Depending on how hard it is to impelement that is. It runs decently enough for me and I have an average pc.
Well I cant enter because when I record with fraps it lags and records at 1fps, and when I record with obs, it turns into potatovision. My time was 1:10 though I cant confirm it.
Then use better recording software, silly.
What's good recording software

I get 40-60FPS on the same CPU but ATI 6950. Could anyone else shout if they have issues on Nvidia? Could be a Nvidia driver issue
Also 8GB RAM, it did state you need about 8GB

Judging by these responses, could be an Nvidia issue, anyone with Nvidia cards like to chip in?
How do you guys get angles like that when recording?
How do you guys get angles like that when recording?
Pretty sure they do Shift+C and move the camera with WASD to where they want it and just start driving, or crashing with the arrow keys. And just film that.
bought it!
the absolute painstaking troubleshooting of getting a 3rd party xbox controller to work with the damn thing was worth it!

Thanks!
Is it currently possible to add new objects to the scene and give them collision? I've been trying through the meshes tab in the library to no avail.

I'm getting 50-60 fps with a 770 along with a 2600k.
