Forget GTA V. BeamNG is going to be released in less than 24 hours!

A car (or engine) exporter from automation would be pretty amazing.
I'm going to go find out what an automation save file looks like.
Just downloaded the demo. Then this happened

Yeah you've rotated the mesh but not the beam skeleton and then that happens
I just replaced the asphalt sliding noise with a less ear piercing gravel sliding noise, makes driving off road feel much better.
Also, is there a way to set engine sounds per car, or is that not a thing yet?
I wrote a short "How to start building your vehicle" tutorial for those who needs.

It's not much, but it could help.
Also, remember that map I made with which some people could view only half of the model (Parking lot Derby RaceTrack)? It appears to be a bug with ATI Radeon cards, as gabester stated. I will try diving the mesh into smaller object and see if that helps.
So, I have modified the hatchback to be able to do 500KM/h. It wobbles so much though, I have to slow the game down to 40% realtime just so I can keep it going straight.
It also does 0-60MPH in 2.31 seconds
The result of slamming in to a wall at those speeds (Yes this is a side on view)

How useful would anyone find some kind of (not in game) GUI in which you can edit specific things about vehicles on the fly? e.g wheel friction, engine torque, anything important
Is it worth me making? Or is it a bit redundant given that editing the jbeam files directly is (usually) obvious?

I think it would be a worthwhile tool to make.
I'd use it too. I plan to go buy the alpha just as soon as I feel like going to the ATM and putting some money on my debit card (I keep it empty because I always give in to temptation)
Also, is there a "BeamNG's level editor for dummies" Tutorial anywhere?

Yeah, I keep getting an error when I try to create a new level. Something about missing a X.decals.mis
After remapping the shift keys to mouse buttons, manual mode is godly.
How do you change a spawned van to a box truck van in the editor?
I think it would be a worthwhile tool to make.
Cool, well it got a fair few agrees too so I'll get cracking on it tomorrow!
I just bought the alpha and does the game patch itself automatically or will I have to manually patch it like in the days before steam?
It runs an updater every time you start the game up.

Ignore the Bandicam watermark, it screwed up right before recording. But, I got it all anyway.

What I did was spawn just a random car, switched to it using Tab, then Ctrl+E'd it.
The Gavril D-Series. Built Gavril Tough.

So I decided to see how much I could destroy the back of the van and have it still drive ok. Here is the transformation:

This made my life so much easier, thanks a ton.

Reminds me of

Mods should change the title.
Something in the line of: BeamNG - "You call that a car wreck?"
And then I made a new engine and exhaust :D

Now imagine the customization, from choosing between Single or Double exhaust to the grille type :q
I honestly cannot get my models or anything to import or work correct. I can code in LUA and Java, but apparently I'm entirely incapable of writing out Jbeam files and such. :suicide:

JBeam is literally just simple lists and dictionaries.
Pretty much finished this.

The Bushi Katana K18
Sporting Rear Wheel Drive and a Stock 1.8 Liter Inline-4 engine producing 160HP, this cheap and reliable Japanese Import motor firmly established itself within drifting, racing and rallying circles as a popular choice.
It's wide availability and popularity have afforded it a wide array of specialist/ aftermarket engines, body-kits and other modifications.
Ideally I'd like to put the car out as a 'base' model which other people can download and say 'right, let's whack a W12 engine in it' or 'let's make a nice twin turbo V6, side exhausts and a bodykit' then they model those things, and release the 'parts' online for other people to download.
I know it's a fictional car but you seem to have done the same thing that Gabester very frequently points out - the window pillars are completely upright with no curvature to them. Judging by the styling you're going for a late 90s-2000s car, and they all tend to have curved pillars, so you should probably give it a bit of an arch to make it more realistic.

Looking super sexy, I cant wait

My god people are overreacting for silly thing, that guy is fine
Does anyone know if this supports the ability for car parts to rip as well as bend/deform? If not do we think they'll add it in an update in the future or is that a whole new level of complicated physics?
