I learned from my friend that if you create a body of water and give it a negative density, your car will get a massive speed boost the longer it is on it or the lower the value. Do it too high and your car becomes wireframe and freezes
Use it to create Trackmania maps with Trackmania style speed boost pads!
Oh my, the Moonhawk is so awesome, my framerate dips.
Use it to create Trackmania maps with Trackmania style speed boost pads!
It's tricky to use because the cars wreck themselves when they go too fast
So the Moonhawk was a bit rushed out and there are a few (a lot) of little issues. Fixed a few of them, fixing a few more. Expect several more tiny updates in the next few days. Also we got a color changer working in the vehicle selection menu :)
The only thing Ive noticed was the shaky cam and that the rear axle gots busted and slides sideways relatively easy, but I figured the axle thing was just a weakness of the car. Other than that, great work, I love it. Its so much more detailed and well put together than the stock 5 cars, or at least the bolide, civetta, and grand marshal.
i hope the moonhawk will be optimized some time in the future. i lag a lot when i use it.
Weird, game can be silky smooth sometimes.
I'd love a general idea or update on how the Derby and race things are going. I'm SO looking forward to those!
Is there any plan to provide a full-fledged scripting doc ? I don't see much going on in the wiki regarding that.
The 1979 Bruckell Moonhawk. Unmatched Luxury. Also, seems like the last micro-update fixed the Moonhawk camera jitter.
Working on the Gavril T75. Just finished the wheels. Now to texture the new tires EDIT: Tires textured
Trailers please? Trailers please.
Trailers please? Trailers please.
Yes, trailers. But semi truck first.
With a career mode planned and semi trucks coming as vanilla vehicles with trailers you could only guess what one part of the career mode will be :v:
Oh god. First the Moonhawk, and now a semi. This just gets better and better.
If they ever make a functioning tow truck Ill shit myself in exitement.
If they ever make a functioning tow truck Ill shit myself in exitement.
When they make nodes that can connect to each other with a toggle, like a trailer attaching to a semi, it will be possible I guess
If they ever make a functioning tow truck Ill shit myself in exitement.
I've had a tow truck upfit in the back of my mind for the D-Series for a while. I've already made the extended wheelbase frame and running gear (which opens the possibility of an extended cab too). [editline]16th September 2013[/editline] of course then there's the issue of figuring out the 80 billion different parts of a tow truck, how they're supposed to move, and then building myself a bomb shelter for when the tow truck enthusiasts find out I did something wrong
There are a lot of kinds of tow truck, but the simplest by far is a hook on a winch on a beam that moves up and down Cant really go wrong with that. I wanna drag a hatchback around with 50 feet of cable at 100mph, take a turn, and watch it disentegrate as it rolls.
and then building myself a bomb shelter for when the tow truck enthusiasts find out I did something wrong
For that reason alone I'm certain that you're never going to make a schoolbus :v:
For that reason alone I'm certain that you're never going to make a schoolbus :v:
I'll make a short bus and label each seat with the screen names of all the little school bus fetishists on the RoR forums

I just realized I can stick this old SUV rough WIP mesh that's been laying around on the D15 chassis. So all I have to do is finish the shell, detach the panels, and do interior. Frame, running gear, engine, suspension, wheels, etc. can all come from the D15 unmodified. Gavril Roamer:

as soon as I spend a boatload of money on a new PC I'm going to break the shit out of this game. I will smash cars beyond any imagination THEY WILL FEEL MY WRAAATTTHHHHHH
I don't want to bitch but will we see force feedback support soon? FF is the only thing holding me from buying the full game :| I'd love to drive those epic cars on the mountain map with my g27.

They have to derive forces from tie rods to implement force feedback. Once that has been done there will also most likely be steering assisting for keyboard and controller users so that the car will automatically do tiny correction when you floor it in a straight line to keep it in a straight line. This could also auto-counter steer when drifting causing you to have an easier time holding the ass out without losing control in turns. Basically, when the forces on the tie rods can be measured, it will be put to good use and make some magic with the steering for keyboards, controllers and steering wheels.
Gabe, if you're doing an Explorer-type vehicle, please don't forget the Suburban. EVERYWHERE I GO THERE'S A FUCKING BLACK SUBURBAN
Gabe, if you're doing an Explorer-type vehicle, please don't forget the Suburban. EVERYWHERE I GO THERE'S A FUCKING BLACK SUBURBAN
Well, there is an extended wheelbase version of the D15 chassis... but then I'd have to make those stupid square back doors
