I am also happy to announce that you won't be seeing
this

[sp]front wings flailing around like chicken wings in small collisions[/sp]
or this
I think I might of figured out what the issue is for those maps that don't run on AMD cards.
The maps that don't tend to not run AMD cards usually have one thing in common:
Most if not all of the map is made up of a large model or models.
Take for example Nadeox1's Parking Lot Derby RaceTrack, which does not work on AMD cards.

Then compare to N-LABS which does work on AMD cards (or at least mine).
hue
Both maps are one model, however N-Labs has less verts than the Parking Lot Derby.
I figure if you were to split up the map into more smaller models that have less verts, you might be able to get the map to work right.
Though I could be totally wrong.
So as a follow up to that theory I had. Parking Lot Derby does seem to work on my system if I separate the track into MANY parts. (an amazing overkill of 14 parts total)
Can't really release it without Nadeox1 permission, so I have yet to be able to test it on a different system.
I just realized I can stick this old SUV rough WIP mesh that's been laying around on the D15 chassis.
Sweet. Everything's better with RoughWIP (TM).
I found that both of the large oval tracks crash my game after about 10 seconds if I have my steering wheel plugged in, but I can prevent it from crashing if I minimise and maximise the game within those 10 seconds. Why can't all bugs just have simple and obvious causes?
Whoa, new update really improved fps.
I'm still REALLY eager to see the races and derbies.
If you haven't heard there's a new released WIP vehicle, another truck it's pretty good from what I have used it. http://www.beamng.com/threads/3994-Chevrolet-Silverado-1500-1986-(conversion-help-needed)
I've had a tow truck upfit in the back of my mind for the D-Series for a while. I've already made the extended wheelbase frame and running gear (which opens the possibility of an extended cab too).
[editline]16th September 2013[/editline]
of course then there's the issue of figuring out the 80 billion different parts of a tow truck, how they're supposed to move, and then building myself a bomb shelter for when the tow truck enthusiasts find out I did something wrong
I know exactly how you feel. The fire truck / ambulance people can be the same way.
Jesus christ; car crusher map when?
Tried out the tech demo, seems really fun for some reason. Anyone know of any good compatible steering wheels to accompany it? I've never played driving games before. Also, is there more to it than just driving in the full version?
I liked what I played but don't know if I could shell out $15 for it
[editline]26th September 2013[/editline]
Are there any plans when the cars are nailed? Moving on to like ARMA 2 type stuff?
[editline]26th September 2013[/editline]
Failed to reach 88 miles an hour, reached about 83-85 before this happened

You know it's still pre alpha right?
I knew it was alpha didn't know it was pre-alpha. That's pretty goddamn amazing. I just want to know what the aim for the future is.
Maybe it's Alpha, I don't remember. :v: Either way, don't expect much just yet. Penis Colada would be the one to ask though, he's actually a Dev working on this.
i find it funny how the title says forget gta v for beamng, but as soon as gta v came out this thread dropped in popularity instantly :v:
kind of offtopic, but related to thread title so plsnoban
To be fair it died out rather fast before GTA V. :v:

You can only have so much fun driving around aimlessly and alone.

It's far from done and far from a full release
So it's barely even started
Also GTA V's car damage system was a bit of a disappointment tbh
Also GTA V's car damage system was a bit of a disappointment tbh
Well, IV's damage was much more fun for doing anything remotely close to what you do in beamng (oh how i loved getting a huge truck and going on a rampage accross the city), but gameplay-wise V's damage is alright considering you now wont completely wreck that nice car you got 5 mins after you find it
I'm hoping V's damage system will be accessible in the way IV's seemed to be, so that when (if) the PC version comes out, we'll be seeing damage mods. The one I have for IV is insane..if you load the realistic module, your car will be useless if you hit anything at over 30mph. That's not too much fun when you're actually playing the game, but the "normal" setting is perfect.

Could I perhaps get a link to that mod? I would like some nicer damage.
GTAIV and V's damage system is actually amazing, but they rarely demonstrate just how powerful it is.
In GTAV, get a dump truck from the quarry and find a regular car, and slowly back over the rear end of the car. You will literally pancake it. Avoid touching the bonnet, as it damages the engine, and the car will explode and kill you.

Destruction derbies would be perfect for that, hopefully online will have that eventually
The hell, after so many updates they still not removed the camera's dumb inertia response function? This is like the most asked for thing
Could I perhaps get a link to that mod? I would like some nicer damage.
Well, you could try this
http://www.thegtaplace.com/downloads/f3849-realistic-car-damage
or maybe this
http://www.gta4-mods.com/misc/more-car-damage-v2-f2444
The one I'm using also has different handling and, most importantly, realistic torque stats for all the vehicles. You'll reach insane speeds in no time with even the weaker cars, and while the power of some rwd cars will make you spin out instantly if you're driving with the keyboard, skidding is generally much easier to control with this mod. I wasn't able to drift around corners before I got this mod:

Right now we are busy with a lot of non-development stuff, hence the lack of progress.
[editline]29th September 2013[/editline]
We're adding a race timing system soon including online leaderboards :)
GTA V has really rustled my jimmies

Best developer ever.
GTA V has really rustled my jimmies
As much as I would love a hardcore, punishing, realistic car chase game, the masses that GTA is marketed towards, wouldn't.
The first thing I'm doing when GTAV comes out on PC is making the cars impossible to drive and able to be immobilized by mounting a curb the wrong way.
