• So it looks like Facepunch's next sandbox game (potentially Garrysmod 2) is gonna be in UE4
It has nothing to do with originality, and everything to do with how fun your original idea is. Getting it to pick up may be a different story
Pretty much what I'm trying to say here. Your original and fun idea is likely to die out soon in the current stage of the game, because it never picks up. The current community of the game sticks with their FrenchRP servers.
Would love a more refined screenshot addition to the game for sure, something like Doom 2016 or Nvidia's Ansel. One can dream!
Ansel just reminded me of gmod's poster function https://garry.tv/2012/02/25/poster-screenshots/ Of course Ansel does more than just UHD screenshots, would be interesting of what comes out

I feel dumb.
for those not in the discord server [t]https://puu.sh/xO3bg/3c2107f574.png[/t]
for those not in the discord server [t]https://puu.sh/xO3bg/3c2107f574.png[/t]
Seeing the commit logs, not surprising, it still looks like they are working on a lot of the fundamentals, and I would rather wait until that's done before playing it.

But they would get complaints forever and ever so I guess it's a good thing they don't.
Personal Skins Revival incoming
jesus fuck no, leave that monster in its grave
Wooo, new dev blog! https://sandbox.facepunch.com/blog/dev-blog-4/
Personal Skins Revival incoming
A place that started out as actual skins, that then changed into personal models. Weird people everywhere too.
Lol some people are impatient
Hell no, then you've got the wrong idea about what I meant, I'll happily wait another year or two for a full release. What I meant is that I just like to see what the team is working on and be able to see how certain aspects of a game works prior to a full release. Most of the games in the FP Prototypes folder simply aren't meant to be playable for hours, they were never finished, yet I'm interested enough to play them for quite a while and semi-regularly.

It'll be released when Garry and crew deem it ready for release. I'm sure they'll do an early release of sorts, but right now is clearly too early.

Thing is, this is less of a game and more of a platform for games. Thus there's little next to no gameplay and most of it is raw pipeline stuff, which will change frequently. There's really no point in getting it early. Also, I have a question. Will S&box use Pbr? or will we be able to load any kind of shaders we want regardless of whether or not it's pbr? PBR would invalidate a lot of source engine assets since they aren't made for it.
Honestly the server list business is so shit we might as well put all server ips into a big ass list, and when you hit play mp it just pulls a pseudo random server out of there. Any servers you like can be put into a favorites list, and when you go to favorites it pulls a pseudo random server from there.
So, the legacy browser?
So, the legacy browser?
I think you're missing the point, you don't get to choose you just get connected to a random server.

https://sandbox.facepunch.com/blog/dev-blog-5/ I guess goodbye to the webcon
webcon still exists http://35.176.89.190:27016/ admin / nutsack
autocomplete helped me find the quit command I like that the autocomplete has a description of each command with highlighted text edit: someone else did it again
You think you're quitting, but really you're just updating the server.. it'll be back up in a second.
You think you're quitting, but really you're just updating the server.. it'll be back up in a second.
What is timescale nan like?
I don't know if me trying to change the map to crossfire killed it or if that was someone else :v:
So if I want to jump the boat into this new game, and I'm an aspiring developer myself, should I take the time to learn C++ and the UE4 engine? How separated should I expect the game and the engine to be? Also, I'm gonna miss having a nearly completed Wiki for references.

Didn't get time to see it, shame :(
Down already? Rip
Haha someone managed to murder it
webrcon was interesting uses a pretty new technology for a old system, and can easily implement it into a lot of solutions. Problems I found usually consisted of, strangely enough, something I find on plenty of facepunch property fucking ssl [editline]7th October 2017[/editline] really this comes about because firefox has generally been more strict over it. Means I'm hitting these issues, instead of garry's chrome window
