Are there melee weapons in VR or is it only weapon butts?
Are there melee weapons in VR or is it only weapon butts?
Yeah, you can use every melee weapon except the Chain Whip. You can use weapon butt at anytime, or you can pull out your melee and use it while holding a gun in your other hand.
Are there melee weapons in VR or is it only weapon butts?
As Lolnoob1 said, you can use pretty much all melee weapons, they're not efficient at all though. Giving a quick smack with your weapon butt is more than sufficient and way faster. I'd only really use melee for like the electric brass knuckles but still, it's kind of hard to pull them out mid fight.
Couldn't you do what was shown in the reveal of Payday VR and pretty much hold your knife out at the same time as your gun? Or can you not shoot while the melee weapon is present
Couldn't you do what was shown in the reveal of Payday VR and pretty much hold your knife out at the same time as your gun? Or can you not shoot while the melee weapon is present
You can shoot while it's there, you can't interact though so I'm not really a fan.
how do shotguns work? Do you have to manually pump each time, and load in each shell? Do you dump them with something like the Mosconi or the Bronco?
how do shotguns work? Do you have to manually pump each time, and load in each shell? Do you dump them with something like the Mosconi or the Bronco?
No you can one hand a shotgun and it pumps itself :mindblown:
No you can one hand a shotgun and it pumps itself :mindblown:
Every video I've seen of VR is people one handing all the guns, which to me is kinda lame, I know that's probably a lot easier to use them but it feels wrong in a mode that's supposed to be more immersive

I personally still like to double hand guns as much as possible, I believe it helps me aim somehow.
[t]http://www.overkillsoftware.com/ovk-media/2017/10/pd2-cursedkillroom-2.jpg[/t] With Pride, she looks like a boastful, full-of-herself lady. Like she's grimacing and looking down on someone else. It has a facial expression that, at least to me, says "I think I'm better than everyone, and people below me disgust me." In a movie, this might be the facial expression a hoity-toity art gallery owner would make after a student showed them their art, and dismissed it as rubbish. The feather in her hair also invokes feelings of the roaring 20s and flapper girls, signifying she's part of the upper class and extremely wealthy. With Envy, first off, green hair. Green with envy, natch. Secondly, she seems frustrated or sour, looking at something off to the side that we can't see. I take this facial expression to mean she's looking at something that she can't have, and is upset about it.
One thought I had is that Pride looks like Dolores umbridge from harry potter. The other ones are a lot more blatant, although I think I initially thought the slug on Sloth's face was a pepper.
I've had a decent blast with VR, with the guns behaving the way they do now it's definitely better to go akimbo I loaded up the game for the first time in an age, discovered there are now akimbo shotguns which are SO satisfying to use with an SG /heavy armor build. (shotguns work very well as you don't have to be accurate as per the mechanics of payday leading to some real yeah get some! moments) My only complaint is the sights are nigh on impossible to use so you end up relying on the laser sights more than anything.(that and your HUD is sort of annoying to just try and glance at but I'll forgive this) A lot of the weapons (like the LMG's, sad times) and the vast majority levels are locked out for VR users right now which is fine I suppose as it's a beta. It would be nice to get 2 handed rifles though, but it's interesting as it is right now as you can interact with your off hand and keep firing with your main hand.
long text about the payday 2 vr beta
I think akimbo is pretty interesting and fun by itself, but because aiming guns in VR is pretty much reflex and instinct I must say that, practically speaking, a nice accurate silenced Bernetti does the trick way better for me than having two uncontrollable guns. I really wonder what sights you've used and why it was so hard to aim with them, all the holo ones are highly customizable and most ironsights seem good enough to me. Aaaaand, you do know you can grip the front side of your rifle right?
How does driving work in VR?
How does driving work in VR?
Not
How does driving work in VR?
You can see it briefly in this joke of a video I made (around 38 seconds): You grab the steering wheel with one (or both of) your hands, then accelerate/decelerate by clicking the touchpad and moving it forward or backwards. It uses the main hand instead of the offhand for this, which is pretty inconsistent. The vehicle lags behind your actual view, which makes it really unpleasant to drive around in. The same thing happens to your belt/hands while dashing, so I assume they haven't exactly ironed that out yet. Keep in mind that heists with vehicles aren't available in the beta yet, probably for this reason.

Aaaaand, you do know you can grip the front side of your rifle right?
To be fair then I obviously didn't try enough, I just loaded up into PD and tried to use my old guns with acog sights on them, and no, I didn not know about the two handed thing and that made them awkward to use so I switched to the red dot lens I can't remember the name of and even tried customizing the dot on that with no effect so I assumed they were broken. I'll try the holo lens next time I get a bash. and the above... oh my god I didn't even considering looking for mods to unlock the rest of the stuff, I'm giving that a go too!

[editline]21st November 2017[/editline]
the uncontrollable guns are part of the fun - you wipe out an entire corridor with 1 blast :v
Can't disagree there. Also for the love of god don't use scopes that are supposed to magnify, they don't work and just obscure your vision, use simple holo/red dot sights and make the reticle a bit bigger and you'll find it pretty easy to use I guarantee.
The real question is if all of my meme mod songs work with VR
How does one acquire the 'unlock all vr stuff' folder, if I may ask?
I made it and I'm not releasing it. Overkill asked us to not mod the beta and there's a very good reason all the locked stuff is locked in the beta right now. Stuff like locomotion is fun, but that's less line toey than an unlocker. All the fixes and shit would be incompatible with the next update, and would break immediately. The code is also a mess. Additionally the pd2 community likely won't restrain itself from making bug reports about it not working with the mod. Or Hassat will start whining. Or both.
Additionally the pd2 community likely won't restrain itself from making bug reports about it not working with the mod. Or Hassat will start whining. Or both.
No one said you should release it to everyone, just a discrete trustworthy group of people (including me ). I think someone will probably make a public release soon anyways though. The reason they said you should uninstall your mods is because the game actually wouldn't start it you had mods (speaking from experience), I now use an updated unofficial VR version of BLT by the dude that made the smooth locomotion mod together with that actual mod, and it works fine. If I'm asking for your workaround for unblocking that stuff I don't expect everything to work fine, heck, I was just looking for a good laugh while driving absolutely broken cars and shooting the most ridiculous guns.

He's a pretty chill dude from what I understand on Payday Wiki, he helped me with the internal names of the playable heisters (including Tony Montana, who happens to have two internal names; chico and terry, the former is for his graphics and FBI sketch, and the latter for him as a character). I admit to being partially flamboyant myself.

That requires you to use manual reloading though, which is a bit weird and sometimes buggy.
What's wrong with Hassat, though?
Hassat is a caustic asshole towards devs and anyone who dares imply cut content is cut content. He keeps getting banned for screaming that overkill "stole" scrapped antisphere patterns and materials that got scrapped for being not up to par asset wise, along with leaking content, constantly code and file dumping, complaining about devs not fixing bugs by posting code from the game(this is technically illegal, btw), and in general being an egotistical asshole. He may be Dr. Jekyll on the wiki, but he goes Mr. Hyde on the steam forums.

I'm hoping mas wins, in part because I hope LGL will actually implement the winning contest, and mas's would be an incredible glorious trainwreck.
While it's not Payday or Raid related, it's good to know that Payday isn't the only Starbreeze game that seems to lack QA testing half the time that results in completely and utterly broken patches that break the gameplay horribly. I was looking at achievement stats for the game and apparently only "67.5%" of players have the achievement you get for putting on your mask. What the heck is up with that?
I didn't know Vyse was a streamer this whole time The payday vyse group just got a notification about an hour ago and Ive been watching him since
I was looking at achievement stats for the game and apparently only "67.5%" of players have the achievement you get for putting on your mask. What the heck is up with that?
I'm guessing people who bought it at launch when it claimed it ran on OSX and Linux (which it didn't), people who bought and tried to run the game but couldn't, free weekenders who installed the game but never started it (this also includes the 5mil free copies) or couldn't run it.
