The Goblet of Fire had facial animations, but almost no lipsynching from what I saw. We don't need lipsynching in PAYDAY if you ask me. …If it was enough to just add blinking and looking around with the eyes, I'd be satisfied. EDIT: Also, the Source engine has a programmed timer for when to trigger the Blink flex.

HL2 and Episodes no longer have blinking after the Steampipe conversion. And I don't even think the L4D1 cast (in L4D2) blink because of how badly ported they were.

But most of the time characters were supposed to wear Masks, and if you're shooting things then i doubt you should be looking at the faces Just seems to me to not really be worth it in the end

Sydney, Clover and Bonnie are almost tallet than male npcs, and tower over female civvies. They were built with the skeleton in mind and are very large people. Hila looks like she was not intended for that. Just like with Salad's Payday ports on the Left 4 Dead 2 Workshop, he ported all of the cast on Bill's animations, and initially ported Clover on Zoey's. Since she is smaller and has more feminine animations than a 60 something war vet with a bad leg and smoker's lung. The model's joints clipped through each other as Clover was built just as tall as any of the males, so Salad had to give her Bill animations. The Payday cast are built large. Hila's model was not.

I feel kind of bad for bashing the pack because it looks like they had a lot of fun doing VA, but I guess I'm more disappointed in the writing.

I'd say their stress over having to fly all the way here was part of that issue. I think these two understand how the non-US people who had to fly all the way to LA feel during that Hype Train event, frustrated and angry.

The VA was recorded remotely at a location close to them.

Yeah. As I recall, long story short the engine didn't like having more than two reload animations for guns, and they were already using those two for most weapons for partial reloads and empty reloads. So for having guns switch to a drum mag, the old animations didn't work so they needed new ones, but couldn't do that. I think LGL may have actually worked around that for Raid, though I'm not certain. And I vaguely recall a mod that not only enabled the drum mag but got it working with different animations, but I'm pretty sure it was just forcing the game to instead use the animations for the Bootleg which only has the drum. Either way its hilarious how fucking bad the engine is.

The main issue is that they didn't code a proper way to swap animations depending on weapon mods and the animators don't want to put resources towards it. LGL already showed that the engine is perfectly capable of it.

Zdann's armor is pretty cool, it fits the lore of the game unlike many other entries I've seen in the past. Simple and fitting, and it's also the obligatory "Red and black" entry in a safe :P Invenit0r's armors are damn cool too. The police one being my favorite in the safe.
