Every post you make it's always about how armor is not loved, how dodge is shit, how any weapon that isnt sub-80 in damage is overpowered, how anything dodge related is shit. It's more obvious how blinded you are by your outdated armor meta and how every weapon is overpowered. No fucking shit when you probably never touch anything higher than Overkill, admit Overkill doesn't give a rats ass about armor and ovk difficulty and fucking deal with it.
The fact you almost literally cannot play anything higher than Overkill without it being a cookie cutter dodge build says more about how fucking busted dodge builds are and how weirdly balanced higher difficulties are than anything else tbh. And the fact the community is more than happy to just take that makes the Payday meta super fucking boring. Armour builds should be viable at any difficulty, there being only one viable play style at higher difficulties is fucking absurd. Though honestly I'm not sure what I expected considering the consistent power creep the game has suffered.

[editline]2nd December 2017[/editline] Hell I still believe 1D would function well if the enemies had Ovk difficulty health but kept the spawn rate, damage, etc the same. Hold out against large waves of enemies and if you fail that, you can end up dying, or if you decide to run off on your own, you end up dying. It's probably not the best solution, but it's something.
It's weird, because whenever i try to play a high difficulty with a Dodge build, or Overkill for that matter, it's just not fun for me The only fun i get is two pistols, but i think i can do better just using those with my armor set Whenever i try to use dodge, the rng just seems to always roll hit, rarely miss

They can be good but they can also be eh. They also limit your flexibility if you want to maximize it, and that's crucial. To say OD is impossible without is absurd, and there's plenty of ways to avoid it. This is all just bitching because of elitism and not wanting dodge to have new toys. It's not like a weapon having high concealment stops you from using a weapon in armor God, I thought this change would shut up Brenz since he got what he wanted but I guess not. His analysis of it isn't even that accurate, it's not better than sniper rifles. Snipers aren't projectile, pierce shields, armor and can recover ammo. You lose an arrow that shits gone forever unless you get an ammo bag. I'm mostly disappointed because the poison variant wasn't what I had hoped [editline]1st December 2017[/editline]
Also, outdated armor playstyle? Sheesh, what a healthy mindset right there. Screw anyone who doesn't play your way, eh? Fuck off with that nonsense, it's so obvious you're blinded by power creep..
That's some rich projection
Brenz is never going to shut up, he'll either use it to boast and inflate his ego when something he dislikes gets nerfed, or keep whining like a baby until the day (if the day) what he dislikes gets nerfed.
Clearly not, just got nerfed and he told us to eat it and preceded to mouthpiece it some more I feel like I've been reading this shit for a year at the least
Just to clarify a misconception that I see a lot, "spawn rate" is not a thing in payday 2. There are two major enemy population values that vary by difficulty. 1. Number of enemies in an assault wave (the long guide calls it "assault pool size"). The max this can be on normal is 350. On Hard through DW, the max is 700. On OD, the max is 1050. In practice, this rarely matters too much because assault waves can also just time out before you hit this limit. 2. Total number of enemies that the assault wave will have active and running around at a time. I usually call this the "spawn cap". The max this can be on normal is 28. On Hard through DW, the max is 56. On OD, the max is 84. During an assault, the game tries to spawn enemies up to the spawn cap. This spawn cap (and caps on specific enemy types, like shields) is something that varies by difficulty. When an enemy dies during an assault, a new one spawns almost instantly regardless of difficulty. Spawn rate isn't a thing. The spawn cap is a huge thing, however. Payday has to run relatively complex calculations for individual enemies, and to compensate on lower end systems it uses a locked tickrate for AI decisions (this is a simplification). The result is that the more enemies you have active at once, the slower all enemies are in behavior. This lock on tasks is what mods like Full Speed Swarm undo- it works OK, but creates massive variance in play experience and isn't healthy for really weak systems (a fairly large part of the userbase). Given what else I see in OD's design, I have to imagine its creators didn't realize what it would play like if all enemies were operating at the level of speed that mods like FSS can produce. When DW first came out, weaker systems were already experiencing AI slowdown and other problems, back when the spawn cap on DW was 44(ish, simplifying here). OD trying to spawn and manage 84 enemies at once causes really horrible variance in AI behavior depending on the host's processor-frozen, unresponsive enemies are common. This is why people talk about running applications in the background to make OD more doable. Increasing the number of enemies on the map at once is a way of adding difficulty in theory, but it has had a whole bunch of pretty harmful effects on the game's consistency of play. Coincidentally, this processor power thing is also a big factor in why different people think OD is manageable, fair, or completely busted. If you're running an SSD or getting mad fps, enemies are way, way more responsive, which with OD damage and accuracy values means the game becomes borderline impossible without some form of cheese. The next time you have an argument with someone about the necessity of an OD "meta", be aware of the role constraints like these may be having! PS I ran all the loud OD in ICTV Muscle AMA 4 pro ztratz
PS I ran all the loud OD in ICTV Muscle AMA 4 pro ztratz
Might as well ask: what build are you running dear sir?
Might as well ask: what build are you running dear sir?
Most important is joker skills- I usually get everything except Joker aced, whose benefits are marginal. The 99% DR provided by Partner in Crime does all the real work. Jokers are incredibly useful on OD as just about everyone knows at this point- managing and using them as a team makes a huge difference on many heists, where they effectively divide enemy attack rate by 3. Is it possible to clear OD heists without jokers? Sure, especially on weaker systems as I mentioned earlier. But the design and balance is sufficiently screwed up that jokers are the best option by a massive margin. Medbags up through inspire aced; nine lives and swan song aced; silencer skills for an AMR-16 generally modded for max damage and accuracy; Iron Man Aced. Remaining points usually go into drill skills. My secondary is an Arbiter, primarily for turrets, Winters and knocking down sets of enemies so that they can’ Fire. I generally serve in a dedicated anti-sniper and support role for my team. I have a low kill count, but usually have the most recoveries and complete a lot of objectives. I have a variety of Pro Stratz for specific OD maps, too; feel free to ask about any particular ones.
Considering the game is balanced in favor of crits (I wish I was fucking joking) I'm somewhat surprised it was nerfed the way it was.
Considering the game is balanced in favor of crits (I wish I was fucking joking) I'm somewhat surprised it was nerfed the way it was.
It should have been predictable. It was the Light Crossbow V2. Now there's an actual choice between the two.

But you can recover the arrows back and i think is far more efficient in this point than snipers ammo pool, unless you are talking about the poison ones which i think are not recoverable. Long time i don't play this game
You can lose the arrows if they hit an unreachable spot. I imagine you could lose them if you have projectile contours off. Someone else with a bow could take yours too. I've "stolen" some lost arrows back before. Explosive ones are just gone automatically. Snipers however can just be recovered normally like any gun
Playing today made me realise how fun it actually is to have LMG bots with armor piercing rounds and figuring out where you can make them stay and function as some sort of sentry These rounds work against Winters too, so it's funny seeing a single bot take on the entire shield army

Or if it's a mod, where it is/what it's called?
It should have been predictable. It was the Light Crossbow V2. Now there's an actual choice between the two.
This is also Jules, don't forget that. The fact we got an actual balance patch that actually wasn't something that positively affected crits, bows or weapons with DMR stats is mind blowing to me.
And they said you couldn't do custom 3d sounds in Diesel without fucking with WWise! https://file.house/ggnn.webm
[del]So before I make a huge mistake and spend 6 hours doing something that could potentially be done way easier, is there a coherent guide anywhere on extracting sound files from this game? I found the fix that allows me to open up the "all_x" bundles, I've found two separate tools that allow me to convert the audio, but right now my problem is that I can only do it one at a time. I'd much rather be able to do them all at once, but I must not be reading the readme's right because I haven't been able to get the commands to do so to work. Are there any recommended programs or tools with good how-to guides included?[/del] [editline]uh uh[/editline] Never mind, a friend unexpectedly helped me out with this.
I have a very broad question about payday 2 texture editing, as someone with absolutely no knowledge of texture editing in general: what makes the Zeal units so much worse to edit than the other enemies? I really, really want to get some of those enemy textures edited for my one down fixwork, but apparently they're so bad no one is willing to touch 'em?
A third person mod got released recently and combined with free cam it's pretty easy and fun to mess around with. How can you complain about unfitting characters then make this shit
How can you complain about unfitting characters then make this shit
Sky's the limit when you don't give a shit.
How can you complain about unfitting characters then make this shit
To get rid of the "I didn't even want to be here"-like dialogue that Ethan and Hila were forced to spew out. See, this is why self-inserts rarely work. Ethan and Hila being in PAYDAY 2, and getting shot at by cops and Bulldozers alike? That's where I request a disclaimer saying this: WARNING: INTERNET CELEBRITIES WERE BRUTALLY AND FATALLY HARMED IN THE MAKING OF THIS DLC PACK. You see where I'm getting? Unlike in games were altered names of real-life people can end up dying per your choice or not (Mike "The Masticator", or Juan Cruz and Vikki Goldman, the latter two being Tom Cruz and Nicole Kidman), Ethan & Hila being in PAYDAY 2 means they (as characters) can get arrested, potentially killed. I should add an "Averted" note under "No Celebrities Were Harmed", these two can get fucking bullied this way and I'll be perfectly honest that Overkill did not think any of this through. [SP]I mean, understandably Justin Bieber played a character who gets fatally shot, but at least it's not him playing himself… yeah, you get the point. Ethan and Hila in PAYDAY 2 should've gotten proper aliases like "Eric & Helena" to at least justify their presence. I think Ethan & Hila's voice-acting having them literally play themselves hurts it even more that I wish they never do voicework again.[/SP]
That is one of the strangest and rather unfitting reasons to take issue with their presence in Payday 2. [editline]6th December 2017[/editline] I mean, people make cameos all the time is other works where they can die or whatever. In the movie Zombieland [sp]Bill Murray shows up as Bill Murray at his manor, goes to play a joke on the main character, then gets shot in the gut with a shotgun and fucking dies.[/sp]
I don't know how to answer [SP]Bill Murray's presence[/SP], then. Anyways, H3H3 could've been reached out to by just about anyone and not just Overkill, even Markiplier, JonTron, or Jacksepticeye if those guys wanted to. My point stands that Ethan & Hila's acting was hurt because they had to be themselves ingame, meaning they literally had to do bad-bad acting. What will happen when PAYDAY 3 comes around? Will those two be in it as well? Will Ethan & Hila at least have some plot relevance like when Clover, Jacket, even Jimmy and Rust were so in The Diamond, Hotline Miami, and Biker Heist?… For real now, it makes me wish more live-action trailers would come, especially since the Web Series ended just like that, and that Vernon Locke would have a live-action role instead of CGI... and because I get sick of the duo's "vapes".
Payday 3 should be a soft reboot and dump all the unfitting heisters and unfinished storylines.
Remember when we did an entire event to find that dude's son and we didn't find him?
