I remember reading a theory somewhere that Wick is the reason the Gang gets charged so many Continental Coins for services that would otherwise cost only one. They know they're harbouring him, but also know how unhealthy making an enemy of the Gang is, so they just charge a whole lot more. Granted, I havent watched the movie so I don't know a lot about how the Continental operates, so this could be wildly off the mark for all I know.
On an unrelated note, I think it could be interesting if Wick was a contractor in Payday 3 rather than a heister. They do the things Wick can't because of the bounty that is apparently on his head, and it seems more fitting to the little I know of his character than robbing banks.
That is actually my theory. I'm sure others have brought it up elsewhere, but I've been saying that consistently since Wick 2 came out.
I just chalk it up to Payday being an unholy amalgamation of all the different universes merged together, where everything is somehow connected but with some big changes to accomodate for it. A lot of it just doesn't work with how things play out in their universe (HM2: [sp]Russia nuking the USA would very likely have a slightly more noticable impact than what we're seeing[/sp], John Wick 1/2: [sp]So Wick comes back after his dog dies, but during the movie he manages to squeeze in some time messing around with the Payday gang? Or the second movie, which takes place four days after the first one ends? Between which scenes does he go break out Hoxton and raid the FBI? How about the fact that he's kicked out of the Continental in the sequel's ending, which would make the Continental completely unavailable to us? When during the movie timeline, where every event more or less take place directly after one another, does he find the time to do all this stuff?[/sp]
Not to mention Scarface and Hardcore Henry is somehow canon too.
I think the whole "the universes are totally connected you guys!" is really just a "uhhh yeah sure/I guess, it's just a video game" in reality, I doubt any of the movie companies responsible will ever acknowledge it beyond a couple of references (which only Lionsgate has done to my knowledge)
Scarface is canon, the game isn't and our Tony is a copycat of the legend. This much was confirmed in a stream.
As for Wick, we'll have to see how things play in Chapter 3. I think technically nothing in Payday says all of his canon involvement doesn't take place soon after, and with Ballerina coming to get the WickCU rolling I doubt that [sp]the continental will disappear, especially considering Charon and Winston love him and left him with a marker. Possibly getting Charon out is part of a deal?[/sp]
That's another thing is that story line forgot to add a good amount of the heists so there's no telling just how far away John Wick Heists are from Hox Breakout. We did learn that Butcher's heists could potentially be really close to each other and hox breakout, and that hoxton revenge is pretty much immediately following breakout.
This means if Wick shows up to breakout, it's possible that if Brooklyn 10-10 were to start shortly after Scarface mansion that 4 days isn't incredibly unreasonable.
Currently I believe the butcher heists follow hox revenge which comes right after breakout and sounds like he got the location right after getting to the safe house judging by the voice message from Bain. Takes place at night while day 1 hox looks like morning and day 2 outside looks sunset-ish.
I think the attack Sosa makes on the butcher in the trailer could happen pretty quickly, as far as during or after bomb.
You know whats truly sad in Payday 2? We still have not gotten the alien gun. After all this time.

Hox Revenge was originally day 3 of the Breakout, so yeah
can you still get back into payday playing solo or is everyone max level and assholes like it used to be?

The bot AI has been improved a ton. They can use inspire and you get bonus perks like health regen or increased ammo pick up while using them
You don't ever need human players.

Following Dick Slamfist advice: try to host your own lobbies for a while if you're going back after a long hiatus. People may kick you if you're not playing that good (in the worst case) or help you (in the best scenario)

It’s better now than it has been in a long time. Bunch of new players, you can mostly see what mods people are using, less abuse than usual.

[sp]John Wick 2 literally ends with him getting his membership of the Continental revoked and is now being hunted after by basically the world. I can easily see JW3 starting off with John Wick taking refuge in the Payday hideout and Bain is protecting him.[/sp]
Also Scarface is just an fan who is impersonating the real Scarface. Not that complicated.

So what about Jacket? Prior to the Biker update his face looked too young to fit in the modern world since 1989. A war veteran like him would certainly be frowning, and that's with all the shit he's been through like losing loved ones… his mind is like Giygas; nobody can grasp the true form of Jacket's mind.

EDIT: These guys sure like to stare, I wouldn't mind if they had eyelid bones on their models and eye movement at least. It's all you need in PAYDAY 2 aside from opening up the eyeholes in every wearable mask.
I still miss the old Jacket. He looked like some young guy who's fucked in the head (which is what you'd have to be to copy-cat a killer like the Jacket in Hotline was) much more then the current one who just looks like a pissed off 50 year old.
There's something so disturbing/cool about the old Jacket model having this bland look on his face and a grey-ish dead skin tone.
Jacket is just a very good cosplayer. There's no way any of Hotline Miami is canon in PD2 universe.

That feel, bro.

I also recommend getting bot weapons/equipment for better customization, and better bots for higher difficulty efficiency and AI.
I also greatly recommend keepers with waypoint standalone so you can captain the bots.
The new perk deck is kinda nuts, at least on Overkill.

the game has FWB in it and stuff, they seem serious about it for some reason
Isn't it too much for such studio? PC, X1 and PS4 versions, Switch, smartphones?

I don't see why it wouldn't be a possibility for them to do so - besides, it's another way to keep a game alive & somewhat-hot, I guess?
I'd honestly preferred the Switch version was also available for android tablets - or, at the very least, NVIDIA Shield/Tablet/TV. But, better than nothing, I guess.

Afaik it originally wasn't the real Jacket, the most clear indicator of this is that [sp]Jacket dies in HM2[/sp]. But it eventually turned into some kinda alternate universe shit. Jacket's definitely the most farfetched one of them all.
I mean, isn't there an arcade machine with the Hotline Miami title screen in Jacket's room? And Prison Nightmare contains ghostly voices whispering the character's fears (Hoxton and traitors, Houston and Dallas hear each other in pain) and Jacket hears his own tape recorder saying "Your name is not Jacket".
There's a ton of evidence that Jacket isn't who he says he is, which makes me optimistic that he'll return with a different identity in PD3
Well. No shit HM2 isn't canon to Payday.

the switch version is somewhere inbetween the last gen and current gen version of the game, doubt it'd run on tablets

Jacket is well aware of the things he's done, and the three people in animal masks he saw in his coma are his thoughts and doubts. Hotline Miami 2 cannot have happened, or else PAYDAY 2 couldn't have included the psycho who sought revenge for those he lost.
Better keep his lips shut and pray he can get rechargeable batteries.

well jacket's real name isn't jacket to begin with
beside yeah, doubt anything is canon to payday beside payday
Stuff like this Jacket not being the real Jacket is a potential gold mine of interesting bits of lore but like many other tidbits (Remember that Rust has a shotgun shell with 'Dallas' written on it? Or that McKendrick sold out the gang?) Overkill fails to capitalize on it.
The thing that makes me so mad is reading shit like "John wick doesn't fit cuz rob banks lol"
Like what the fuck, robbing banks isn't all payday does and hits isn't all wick does either
In 2 movies he's done one on screen contract killing and didn't even get paid for it he's killed over a 1000% more hitmen on screen than he's had hits on screen
I mean Christ, payday 2 has more job assassinations than he's performed in the movies
Plus Viggo talks about him being an enforcer/soldier that helped build the foundation for his mafia, and he has history with the Bowery King, and in the new origins comic he's getting out of prison way before even knowing what the continental is. Judging by the plot description he's going to be doing other stuff when he catches on to it and tries to find out more the same way he meets his goals in the movies.
There's absolutely no reason a hitman couldn't do other lucrative crimes, and Wick is much more than a hitman. It's just his title because he's legendary as one for being the best there is.
