Unfortunately, mouse+keyboard will not get the chance to defend themselves while answering pagers. You don't know how painful it is to be answering a pager, only to have a guard see you and interrupt the conversation and get the alarm going, and you're all alone hoping someone joins the game session only for them to get disconnected a moment after reaching 95% loading progress (or as I like to call it, crashing).
Where is my single-fire mode for the pistols and dual SMG/Grimm 12G Overkill?
Mods have you covered
Do you have tunnel vision, Pavlov? Did you not see the rest of my comment?
You're doing something wrong if a guard interrupts you answering pagers, everytime I've been spotted I've had more than enough time to finish answering a pager and deal with a guard.
The solution is to not restrict the player's ability to look around while interacting with interactable objects, and to let them keep using the firearm without needing a HTC Vive setup. Say if I was answering a pager and a guard walks in, I can't answer the pager fully before a guard gets to slap the cuffs on if I use a mouse and keyboard (like I do now). ON THE OTHER HAND... VR players can do that, because they aren't restricted by limited view or the inability to shoot due to having multiple hands for multiple interactions.
Do you see the problem Foxer? Objectively, this means non-VR players are sitting ducks.
Meant to reply to the last part of your post but newpunch doesn't allow quote editing, no need to be a sour cunt about it
No need to get so aggressive
Shouldn't you be trying to make it so you only have to deal with a pager when nobody else is around?
Or at least nobody can walk in on you
Not possible unfortunately, the non-VR exe doesn't support it.
Honestly it really sounds like you are at fault here, you are saying that non-VR players are at a disadvantage, but we've been able to consistently over the years shoot guards when we need to, at secluded areas where guards are less likely to come across the dead guard and you, and even shooting them off the main path for guards into a corner where they wont be seen. You however seem to rely on the ability to answer pagers and shoot as a crutch, and by the way you act about it, that is one severe crutch, that if overkill were to remove the ability to shoot and answer a pager you would be up at arms about it. My advice to you is simple, learn patrol paths, shoot guards only when you need to, and when it's safe, and if you were to get spotted if you act quick you would be done with the guard, and his pager before anyone else can see you and him.
I'll do that every time I play stealth by myself, from now on.
OD was significantly nerfed with the latest beta. If you want a challenge, use the od modifier and get full speed swarm.
It's worth it. The main purpose is both performance optimization as well as smarter cops. Then there's options to crank them up.
From increasing the actions the AI processes, to making them hyper aggressive and rush you, to making them aware of your position at all times.
Those last two are brutal together.
Enemy HP on OD is now at DW levels, except for bulldozers. While a number of other changes were also made that are intended to make it harder (like doubling the movement speed of most enemies on DS), the changes to the spawncap and pathing system appear to be bugged in some way, and especially on larger maps, it's much easier to kite the assault wave around the map, and causing some maps to actually have far fewer enemies than intended. Minigun dozers are also bugged and are doing overkill levels of damage.
Bullshit damage and falloff are still in effect, so small maps, or large, open maps are still RNG-focused hellholes.
I'm also seeing reports (though I've not confirmed it yet) that some of the shotgunner-focused SWAT spawngroups are just plain failing to spawn. I have no idea how that might be further messing with things.
Anyway, Bain is missing like Mario was when he "took a wrong turn" in Bowser's castle in Antarctica, and the Elephant is most likely. There's something foreboding coming up with this Spring Break event that might make the Halloween heists look like cat scares… if Mercy Hospital is the next target for the Payday Gang, then it will most certainly be Locke's first and only stealthable heist like Firestarter was for Hector (but rather only days 2 and 3 could be stealthed, since he did not expect the crew to evade capture at the airport).
Really now, this Spring Break event will be very important for all the current actors in PAYDAY 2. It's been a loooong time since the crew gained new lines to make up for new heists (like Birth of Sky) or additional heisters (and Prison Nightmare), so they're gonna have to converse in the Mercy Hospital elevator.
Legit just had one of the most fun times by loading up Payday 2 VR and equipping an LMG on safehouse defence. Holy fuck, talk about satisfying.
Man, it really sucks having a high crime spree ended by a game crash.
I wanted to see how high i could get >:
This is why most of us just use the mod that makes it so crashes don't end sprees
It's not really cheating considering that crashes do like to happen :v
I was getting more concerned about people crashing when they join a high-level Crime Spree lobby because they're shown the modifiers menu with everything being loaded at once, and thus overloading the Diesel engine. There are two versions of a mod for this problem, which either hides the modifiers menu, or both it and rewards in the extra version. I have a custom one which instead swaps the positions of them, considering that "Modifiers" is the leftmost and thus default menu option, increasing the risk of crashes when entering the lobby:
function CrimeSpreeDetailsMenuComponent:populate_tabs_data(tabs_data)
if not self:_is_in_preplanning() then
table.insert(tabs_data, {
name_id = "menu_cs_rewards",
width_multiplier = 1,
page_class = "CrimeSpreeModifierDetailsPage"
})
end
table.insert(tabs_data, {
name_id = "menu_cs_modifiers",
width_multiplier = 1,
page_class = "CrimeSpreeRewardsDetailsPage"
})
end
…Seriously Overkill, we need a 64-bit version of PAYDAY 2's Windows executable (payday2_win64_release.exe)
A 64-bit executable should be a standard nowadays, in my opinion.
Do you have a link for that?

Here's something interesting Dr. Newbie created; Playable Locke and Alt Sydney. It seems like custom playermodels are a possibility, but it won't exactly mean we'll properly get to play as ZEAL SWATs or defected Bulldozers!

New FBI files memo
Sir,
I’ve shown the dossier you provided me with to an agent in Legal, someone whom I trust to be discreet, and she agreed that it looks sufficient, if not completely watertight, for Probable Cause.
As per your instructions I have prepared a small team, which stands ready. Operation Karamojo is GO at your command.

According to comments on reddit, Karamojo was an elephant hunter, guess they're going for the Elephant. Wikipedia says:
Walter Dalrymple Maitland Bell (1880–1954), known as Karamojo Bell, was a Scottish adventurer, big game hunter in East Africa,[1] soldier, decorated fighter pilot, sailor, writer, and painter.
Wait, I think I'm out of the loop. Weren't Elephant's contracts designed with an emphasis on a stealth approach, so nothing can be traced back to him? How exactly did they figure out that he's involved in the fusion reactor theft (Big Oil), political framing (Framing Frame) and election fraud (Election Day)? The Biker Heist's FBI Files mention that Garrett's task force was informed of a connection between OVERKILL MC and "a man called the Elephant", but how/when exactly did they narrow it down to Senator Simmons?
Would def make sense, doesn't the elephant have that artifact or whatever that the rival gang was after? I'm going off those Bain Theory videos tho so I'm not 100% in the loop here.
The Elephant may have the BCI headset, he's not known to have anything else. The most likely source for the intel on the Elephant is McKendrick.
Oh right, McKendrick. He's a sleazebag and will probably squeal out every single thing Garrett wants him to. IIRC one of his e-mails to Garrett is full of spelling mistakes; guy's not exactly the sharpest tool in the shed.

i'm hoping we're sort of acting as a rogue 3rd party between the political mumbo-jumbo and the cultists whose name escapes me. I have just about 0 interest in saving the elephant's skin because he's just a prototypical politician shitbag. and the other party has our boss of sorts kidnapped, soOoOoo
Just for clarity, they're called Beyond Yesterday.
Man, I fucking love how ominous this name is.
