Still now canon in John Wick that there's a diamond that makes it's owners die, secret societies, the BCI helmet, and that McKendrick is the mayor of DC. (also maybe the train heist sentry but that's a TF2 reference, so might be canon, might not)
Or there's a different John WIck universe Payday's canon with which has way more criminals and that's why Continental coins are worth so little in PD2, the Continental would have way more members.
John Wick already has secret societies, The Diamond's reputation is more likely just a legend than anything fantastic and the BCI helmet doesn't strike me as all that farfetched. It's pretty standard near-future tech that's just an expansion of things that already exist in the real world.

Ah, public games
I plan to do Here Comes the Pain Train with people who have yet to obtain it, but also to check if it has (or still hasn't) been fixed. I made a topic about it on PD2's Crews & Clans if you're interested.
I can't get this qoute out my bloody submit box
Anyway

This legit?
Really digging the conspiracy website they made. This is gonna be fun I can feel it.
ew, it's a stealth only heist with time sensitive objectives
You'd think they'd let us have a way to modify a mask's lenses to have night vision capability rather than this. The mask system is all about having a custom mask unique to you, so I don't know why they'd add masks that have functionality when all the others don't.
Aw, that's just Hox Breakdance day 2 stealth. The other heist better be a great one or the event's gonna be pretty disappointing.
Content won't be as big as previous years, at least the new heist has nice dynamic music
Source?
Payday 2 got a year extension in updates, but support is still winding down. They're working on Payday 3
Its technically the same building, but the heist takes place in an entirely different area from Hoxton Breakout.
I can confirm from personal experience that the heist's soundtrack becomes more intense the further you go into it.
There's a bunch of lore related lines in the safehouse, mostly from Duke but Chains has some lines too
Took me a while, but the new heist was surprisingly easy. I don't like how you don't get a lot of time to search around the office the first time you break into it. Other parts of the heist are pretty rushable tho
I don't like the guard pathing in this map
They keep overlaying onto eachothers paths and crossing by eachother, meaning you're stuck often until they decide to move
Duke/Chains safehouse lines seem to confirm Bain is dead. Why? Payday wouldn't be where it is today without Viklund's tracks and performance as Bain.
The gang only knows so much. None of them even knew what Bain looked like or where he was. They also don't know what actually happened to him. And Bain himself had a tape delivered to them saying he is dead. Why though? Viklund doesn't work for them anymore so he's not going to be so readily available going forward and if need be they can bring Bain back in 3 down the line like Hoxton.
Same here, bound to V. Reckon it's hud related. I do know however that scroll wheel click can't be held. PD2 detects a single tap with those.
Mouse 4 is a side button, does it not detect holding those down too?
Also some new .stream files for Spring Break, includes some radio versions of existing music

Just speculating here, but since Simon left Overkill in 2015 and is now working on GTFO, he's probably not going to be that involved with PD3, or at least, not to the extent that he was with 2. If he really is moving away that much, then it really only makes sense to kill off Bain. Viklund was absolutely crucial to PD2 so having the final act be his send off could be really respectful.
They're all hardened criminals and there's only really two ways 'out' of that life, disappearing into retirement once you've made enough and dying. There's no such thing as enough with the Payday Gang though. The amount they've stolen means that they would effectively be set for life several times over if they could somehow pay the right people to disappear. I think Bain was the most capable out of the gang to be able to do that, but he's also the least likely to actually want to, because he built the whole thing.
He's not looking for his son, looking for revenge, looking to prove himself, looking to hurt other people or any of the reasons the other crew have for what they do. As far as we know, and we still don't know much because he's a mysterious figure, he does what he does because he's real good at it and it's fun. Also maybe he wants to take out some ancient evil conspiracy or something? I don't follow 'the secret' lore.
You can't re-voice him because he's probably the most iconic character in the series (and people threw a fit over British Wanker Man becoming Houston), and you can't have the character lobotomised off-screen like Wolf, only able to shout horribly cut off lines. Kill him and suddenly the new game is brought in when there are actually stakes to the heists again.
I don't think anyone's arguing the reasons to write him off. I think the point is that having a tapedeck that says "yea i'm probably dead now lol" is probably not the best way to kill the "most iconic character in the series."
pretty sure this isn't the denouement of bain yet.
Overall opinion: Guards overlap way too much, making it a bitch to move about, especially the guards on the right side of the building as you get past the security gate and depending on the whiteboard location they can be a pain in the beginning as well, the objectives are p'simple and the civies around seem to have a pretty limited fov so thats nice, I do like that if you dont find the code the first few times you get Garret stuck in the toilet and dont have to worry about it
There's things in the evidence room about zombie hunting

source, also why did I get a coin for that post with the video, I didn't make the video
I wish the frequency of Locke's lines in the new heist would be toned down. It's one thing in Birth of Sky, where it's loud and you can move relatively quickly, but another in stealth, where you have to wait for several minutes at a time when you're moving between objectives.
"What are you doing? You need to search for Garrett's office!" yeah what do you think I'm doing, Cocke? I can't exactly dash around the halls shooting guards with gay abandon, because this is stealth only and there's no way to distract guards, so sorry if you're getting a little bored while I'm hiding behind this desk, desperately hoping the guard won't meander his way over in my direction.

what's this shit for lmao
Probably testing if these sorts of mechanics are something people would like in PAYDAY 3. Similar to how Valve tested shit on TF2 for some of their other games.
If you place the stapler on the desk inside a really messy office you'll get an achievement
