only if we get a "node graph out of date, rebuilding" mask
Found this on the subreddit pretty interesting if you ask me.
(HENRY ROCK SPOILERS BELOW)
https://www.reddit.com/r/paydaytheheist/comments/8fu5bk/the_cuneiform_on_the_floor_of_henrys_rock/
From Tenshinen in the comments (Why the above link is significant)
"From what I can find, the part in the middle, "muš katab" translates
literally to "serpent cover". Could also be "serpent lid". Not sure what
it means but I found it interesting.
EDIT: Top right, top left, and bottom middle. 'Sarrum' means King.
Top right translates as: "King Elephant". Bottom translates as "King
Doctor". Top left translates as "King Scribe". Top left likely refers to
Duke or August Lindenhurst as he is a historian. The other two are
obvious who they refer to.
EDIT 2: 'galla mulan' 'namtar mulan' and 'dimmae mulan' refer to
devils, the death god, and phantoms respectively. Nergal refers to the
God of the Underworld while Anki refers to the Lord of the Universe.
Most interestingly: "a'udtegiba" means "time", while "a'udtegiba nu sa"
means "temporal stasis", and the version we have as an errant U on the
end, so I'm going to make the assumption they mean 'temporal stasis'.
I'll be back with more translations soon, I'm going off to do something.
EDIT 3: There's a post on the Steam Community that does a better job at translation than I can, go check that out.
EDIT 4: 'a'udtegibau' means 'time' , the part that confused me there
was the space at the end in the symbol, before the u, seems like the
spacing isn't very accurate. D;
EDIT 5: According to the Steam Community link I posted, 'King Doctor'
is linked to 'dimmea mulan', which translates as 'demon star'. Algol is
a very bright star in the Perseus constellation, and is also known as
'the demon star'. Also, the medallion we stole from Brooklyn Bank is
listed as the Medallion of Perseids, and the word Perseids refers to a
prolific meteor shower that occurs within the Perseus constellation. The
cuneiform on the medallion also translates as 'FOR THE WATCHER OF THE
STARS'. Coincidence? I don't think so. The medallion was intended for
The Dentist, no doubt.
Just another tidbit: Algol is strongly associated with bloody violence
and war. Who shows up repeatedly in the background and follows The
Diamond around? A man with suspiciously similar glasses to The Dentist.
Algol is also considered to be the one of the unluckiest stars."
Honestly Henry Rock has advanced the plot so much.
I decided to try Goat Sim Deathwish Solo with bots because that was the next mission in the storyline for me and I'm a complete and utter idiot.
I used to think Day 1 was the worst bit because that's where pubs players would all separate and die on opposite sides of the map, but that was before I spent 40 minutes and 450 kills on Day 2 before I gave up and quit after getting sick of trying to juggle "defend the goats I have" vs "go get the goats the cops stole, thereby letting them steal the goats I have".
Whoever made it so the bot's "stay here" button translated to "stay here until you get lonely, then feel free to run back over to me" should consider changing careers.
My biggest goddamn gripe with this new map.
Stock cops.
Like, I know Locke says "Garreett must be really in this to send out cops" But don't give me that shit. We're in essentially Area 51 but cops are flooding into this place like it's FWB. Why can't Ovk just make Murky cops and just have them keep the same voice lines? Or hell, use the old cop voice lines that were cut awhile ago
Pretty much what Restoration mod did, the cops are replaced with Murky version of their units in most Murky related heists.
Makes all new enemies and specials for one map
Doesn't use the existing enemies or make new specials for a faction whose bases are the setting of two maps and is a major part of the story
Maybe the first few assaults could be Murkies and later ones be normal enemies?
He needs his payday, too.
It's even more frustrating when you remember they went and made a full set of new enemy models only for a single heist (boiling point), yet we have so many murkywater heists with default cops.
Yeah, there's beneath the mountain too,I would've almost loved to have seen a mixture of cops/murks on Birth of Sky/Slaughterhouse, would've provided a neat contrast, the Murks trying to get their stuff back and the cops just responding to the disturbance
They could've easily recycled the Boiling Point mercs, and just add the Murky helmets
It'd be neat if the Murkies had their own bootleg special units. Maybe Dozers with the spaceman bombsuits from the first game, like they're taking old tech that was put out of commission by the police force, or shields that are completely rectangular to contrast the cops' curved/angular shield units.
Weapons that still don't have free equivalents
Breaker/GSPS type shotgun
120 damage LMG
160 damage semi-auto sniper rifle
246 damage sniper rifle
Thanatos
Bow/Crossbow
Piglet/China Puff/Arbiter
Flamethrower
Rocket launcher
I really want Overkill to make a pneumatic potato cannon for the free rocket launcher
Is there any way to look at the map logic to look for an Overdrill style secret on Henry's Rock? Maybe look for unrelated maps getting updated?
Yes, the map's been torn apart. There's nothing there aside from confirmation that [spoiler]the Murkywater guy at the end is Kento [spoiler]. I'm too tired to write up the full translation and interpretation of the emblem tonight.
Does the check for the "BALDWIN" code in the H&T do anything yet?
It's clearly "too much" to make the Murkywater Response an actual faction, but it's ironic considering we have regional zombie cops in Cursed Kill Room.
Zombie cops are really poorly done. I'd rather have no Murkies than shitty Murkies.
The baldwin code on H&T appears to be like several other "the secret" triggers that are dummied out on various maps- a joke by the developers for filedivers, and not an actual clue or secret. The other "secrets" just spawn the cheese toastie somewhere if they're enabled in a map editor.
What determines which line Bain will say at the end of an assault? Number of downs during the assault?
I believe so. If you don't have any downs, Bain will be impressed. If you get downed, he might say it got a bit hairy.
In this thread's past, I've said how Ron Perlman has gone on record saying the only reason he played Rust was the money he was paid for it. Well, here's the exact link to confirm that statement.
https://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/72ucal/sup_muthafuckas_ron_perlman_here_dont_be_shy_ask/dnlebml/
You're acting like this is an unbelievable statement and people doubted it
Not the intended implication, really.
I mean is it really that odd
I'm pretty sure Perlman isn't the type of actor who'd be willing to do work for any other motive
I'm sure he's got enough other things to do
At best, Perlman will get paid again when Overkill hires him to more voicework before PAYDAY 2 is done with. They have to when it comes to No Mercy.
Are there pertinent voicelines that need to be recorded for that heist?
What's the intended one then? No one doubted that he did it for money, many of us saw that post when it first happened and *people working for money* isn't exactly a weird thing to begin with. Not sure why you're bringing this up now, it's probably the case with everyone who ever worked on this game.
For the intro, I'd say yes. It would have to be based on what characters chosen to take part in the heist.
