All the chosen act like too cool for school fanfic and it's kinda endearing in a way.
I was expecting to be annoyed by the chosen but they actually did a pretty decent job with their personalities and all the programmed responses.
The assassin is the least likeable but she's a gene-spliced weaboo that teleports behind you, has a shotgun called "arashi" and a katana with superior elder steel psionically folded a thousand times. Couldn't help but laugh at that.
When the Assassin assaulted the Avenger, she basically said "since you keep running away like vermin I decided to come find you". Which I thought was weird because up to that point I had already forced her to go the fuck way at least four times. :v:
I like how the Hunter still taunts you even when he misses all of his shots

I'm jealous of how much better you guys are at propaganda than I am.
They were only scary because of gameplay. Can you seriously say you're terrified of this thing based on looks?

well yeah imagine being stuck on the seafloor in your heavy-ass diving suit, sweating like a pig and trying to spot an enemy when a massive fucking crab with pincers bigger than your torso turns the corner and walks up to your face

This idiot missed a shot on my sharshooter from 6 tiles away and taunted us like he killed him. Obviously he didnt and he died that same turn.

I always skipped alien rulers whenever possible so I never heard it myself until recently, but I love how Tygan's lines about the ruler abilities are all some variation of "why the fuck did she let this happen".
Also more of my posters because I too am having way too much fun with it.
How would you recommend I deal with Sectopods? Short of cheesing it with Disabling Shot+Electropulse KSM I can't see any way to dispatch them in a timely manner. Using two heavies with HEAT Rounds+Blaster Launcher seems to work okay-ish, but that's only going to reliably work with one. Even then it's heavily reliant on sniper positioning and will often result in dead soldiers (thank fuck for secondary heart)
The engagement part is pretty straight forward, open with shredder, focus fire it down wit hthe rest of the team and save disabling shot if you feel it's gonna survive. Just in case, make sure you are in full cover against it and that you cannot be flanked, if you have a squad member you really really really don't want to get shot, make sure they break LoS so the pod can't see them on it's turn. That's pretty much it i'm afriad, you should have Titan armour by the time they start showing up which'll allow you to tank at least 1 direct hit from them.
What really matters is information, knowing where it is, where it's going, and where you can get to in order to ambush it with overwatch. Listen to the sound que's, make use of scanners, ghost armour and memetic skin to get eyes on and then try to move up on it and position yourself to get overwatch shots on it's activation turn.
Failing all of that, ghost grenades exist to [del]ruin the game[/del] stealth mode your entire team and derp out the AI, if it can't see you it just wanders about aimlessly or stands still.

one of my dude's died on the first campaign mission cause another guy was being such a little bitch surrounded by fire and death and spent the key rounds of the engagement panicking in the corner, which basically kept me one man down.
the guy who died was taking cover by a car on fire and it just spontaneously combusted and blew him up. when i killed all the hostiles, it immediately ended and took the rest of my people back home, but I really wanted to grab the dead guy to return him home.
is there any point in recovering dead people, can I revive them? or is it pointless to do?

If you take a dead body with you on EVAC you take the items they had - grenades, armour and weapons. So if a dude with a gun that had three attachments died, if you recover his body you'll get the gun back.

I mostly let the game make the posters and this is one of the best it made.
My best poster is currently this one. I've not played around with the photo booth much.

This is only a slightly tweaked auto generated Photo. Yes, the characters are named Your Mom and Everyone's dad. When I streamed Xcom 2 last year, there was a very dadly character, that looked like he could be anyone's dad. Therefor, he's everyone's dad. Your Mom was added at request.
I've also got a problem with dithered Alpha and can't find anything about hwo to fix it online. Basically every alpha texture is checker boarded instead of just transparent. I've read it might be alpha blending, but I can't find how to actually disable the dithering effect. It looks really bad and makes using anything with transparency impossibly ugly.
Regarding EW Sectopods, another thing you can do if you're in position to do so is cluster your troops to lure it into wasting its turn on preparing a cluster bomb. That basically nets you another turn to kill it.
I've only done this in Long War but I'm pretty sure it works the same.
so for the war of the chosen dlc, I assume its advised you do at least one run through of the vanilla campaign before you get it?
so for the war of the chosen dlc, I assume its advised you do at least one run through of the vanilla campaign before you get it?
I want to say yes, because the game gets a bit more complicated, but at the same time the content that was added with WotC makes it impossible for me to want to do vanilla XCOM2 playthrough now(even with a crap ton of mods). I'd say get right into WotC but start off on lower difficulty instead.
"Assassinate ADVENT general" missions in the sewers can suck my dick. Here, run right through these four pods of bullet sponges in four turns.
Turns out flashbanged generals can't evac though, and neither can they resist the call of the extraction point. That's nice to know. Would've been far nicer to find out without getting stun lancer'd to shit.
