Ended up finishing my campaign today and WotC's pretty fun. Liked all the new features to mix shit up. Had a breakthrough to get magnetic weapons within like 20 days but pursuing that almost tanked my campaign I think; the start was rough. Covert ops were useful as hell. My team started out filthy with sharpshooters unluckily but throwing them through covert ops for guaranteed promotions to make them useful on their first missions was handy. Thought resistance factions would have more of an impact though. You get the one mission where two factions are introduced and then nothing else. They could've had some missions where reaper/skirmisher/templar teams aided you but I didn't see them actually do anything except chat to me while I played. Like Bradford starts off talking about how much they hate eachother so I figured there'd be some gameplay in trying to get them to work together or perhaps you would have to choose which factions come with you to the end because some wouldn't cooperate with others but it all seems resolved in the one single mission that doesn't even include the templars. They just sort of show up and give you a hero unit.
The alien rulers aren't shit in WOTC. You can scout them out with a Reaper and cheese them with squadsight snipers. I did it to the Archon King last night when my Reaper and Sniper went to a facility alone. The king just stood there as I shot it each turn and eventually portal'd away.
Give a superior expanded mag to a reaper and use Banish. Enjoy the one turn kill.
at least a fifth of my total time in this game so far has been spent making these stupid posters
By the way, if you guys aren't aware there's a mod that severs the "tether" between pods and your squad that pulls enemies to you while concealed. It's the Random Movement mod.
My weapon megapack for WotC should suffice your needs, but there's one problem. It's not released just yet. In the meantime, you can take a look at this album that I prepared: http://imgur.com/a/Po1YP
So... Many... Guns... :D
If you don't actually activate them they ain't shit.
Breaking news: Abusing an exploit makes tough enemies easy.
So how are sparks buffed? The only thing I've noticed is that they can have weapon attachments.
idk i really really wish they'd released a changelog or some patch notes with wotc
PSA: "Preliminary recon" (or w/e) sitrep is fucking broken. Straight up removes the Fog, revealing how dumb the pod mechanic actually is in all its retarded glory. Wish I recorded my games because boy, is it broken. Squadsight still only works if someone in the squad sees the enemy, which helps with the mission not being stupid-easy, but still somehow adds to the overall feeling of retardedness. It's basically a cheat.

Are you gonna release Tier 2 and 3 versions of it too? :v:
considering getting war of the chosen. How do the factions work?
considering getting war of the chosen. How do the factions work?
they act as semi-replacements for the HQ, you can scan at their HQs to gain intel You get the first faction for free through a campaign mission, rescue another, and use the new covert op system to find the last. They provide a unique soldier class each. You can do covert ops for them to increase your standing which allows you to ask them to buff you in various ways (or to get extra soldiers from them.)
considering getting war of the chosen. How do the factions work?
You don't have a HQ any more, instead each faction has a HQ you can use once you make contact with them (you start with one of the factions). You have a new facility, the covert ops ring, which lets you send soldiers out to work with the factions. Doing covert missions increases your reputation with the faction you worked with which unlocks bonuses you can select each month. The missions can also improve soldier stats, give you resources, and improve soldier bonds. The whole "The factions hate each other." thing seems to only exist in one mission, here it's only relevant during cutscenes.
When a chosen reaches full knowledge do they attack right away?
nah, my hunter hang around for another month doing other shit until she finally attacked
god damn, shouldn't have looked into what war of the chosen is like, im in the middle of my first campaign run of vanilla xcom and im already desperate to try the dlc. going to try finish this run through at least. also heres something I don't get. I really wasn't a big fan of xcom eu, only clocked in about 2hrs and every attempt to get into it I always just lost interest, but xcom 2 im fucking loving so much.
nah, my hunter hang around for another month doing other shit until she finally attacked
Neat. My assassin is almost full so I was wondering if I should attack asap or if I had some more time to prepare.
Distinct lack of Advent Recruitment Propaganda in this thread [sp]because everyone wants to get broken down into green goo under the guise of joining the army[/sp] [t]http://i.imgur.com/ff1T8n5.png[/t][t]http://i.imgur.com/wY91Txu.png[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/ylBb8U9.png[/t][t]http://i.imgur.com/An5gLcq.png[/t]

I keep getting these weird, consistent crashes. It first started randomly when doing a mission and thought nothing of it. I even verified the cache as I heard some suggestion and, sure enough, 3 files missing and replaced. The game then started running just fine again. Next time I started the game, it gave me a notification that a mod updated, yada, fine. I start up a mission, activate Reaper on my Ranger, go to slash a guy and it crashes. Restarted, verified files again and this time 1 file was missing. Weird. Bum mod update or something, idk. Started XCOM up again today after work, no mod notification, everything is fine, start a Chosen base assault, go through some shooty business with big pod of Andromedon + 3 Specters and come Ranger's turn, I tried to grapple to a nearby ledge to get into range and CRASH. Verifying the files again as we speak to see if there are missing files like last time. It even feels like the game is running a little 'jagged' at first, then very specific actions are causing the game to crash, but only once and doesn't happen after the crash, verify, reload game loop. The game even feels like it runs smoother afterwards, only for the same thing to happen the next day I try to start it up. Anyone have any ideas why this happening? I'm tired of being blue balled by crashes everytime I do something :disgust:

If you're not using the XCOM 2 alternative mod launcher, I'd go ahead and use it. It'll tell you which mods conflict with each other. I was having a similar issue where some missions, I'd try to move someone and it'd randomly crash. As it turns out, I had two health display mods running at the same time because numeric health display finally got updated and I forgot to remove the temporary one I had. :v:
Hopefully sometime this week. On another sidenote, there's unique Tier 2 and 3 weapons in this pack as well.
Been watching beagle's vods and they look really good, man. nice work.

Thanks! Also, The verification came through and it in fact has another file fail to validate! I'll try the mod launcher and see if anything comes up.
[t]https://i.imgur.com/iyL0F2d.png[/t] It keeps happening!
So now I got stuck at Xcom 2, with me failing every attempt at doing the counter missions, either running out of time in the destroy relay missions, or failing the protect relay missions because I can't get to the relay on time cause I just either have a Muton or a Andromedon pod taking like 1/5 of the relay HP each ayy turn. How do I stop fucking up (I'm on still vanilla xcom 2 btw)
I just bought WoTC, so what is the best approach to mods? uninstall everything and reinstall everyone with WoTC tag?
I just bought WoTC, so what is the best approach to mods? uninstall everything and reinstall everyone with WoTC tag?
Voice mods are a pretty safe bet, uninstall everything else and find the equivalent [wotc] compatible version
Oh man, that post-credits scene I'm cackling like a maniac
