It didn't look like a bug though. It wasn't like the armor plates were clipping through the leather jacket along with the grappling hook, it looked like it was very clearly, deliberately attached to the arm. I can't tell if I'm losing my shit or if I somehow discovered a secret that absolutely nobody knows how to trigger. And it was fairly recent as well, so the bug you mentioned was probably patched. Am I just losing my damn mind?
Simply put, I have looked through pretty much all models this game has and I can tell you with 100% certainty that there is no deliberate model like that. You either got a visual glitch I was not aware was possible and just kinda "fixed" the clipping in your memory or it didn't happen and you might be thinking of some artwork, a dream etc
Cant covert ops have gene mods? He may have just had a soldier with muscle fiber density allowing his soldier to simply jump on top of things.
It might be the case that their armor was still equiped, which had a hook, and it didn't get taken off due to the bug. The leather jacket probably overlapped it or something and the rest of the suit didn't show up. You would just get the abilities and health benefit, but not the visual model. As for the hook on the arm, it's probably a separate model that gets added by the game when it sees you have that armor equipped. I'm just guessing, but this seems like it's the case.
it drives me fucking insane that soldier's kit gets unequipped when they go to sick bay/are wounded. makes gearing up take forever and the inventory management UI is not up to scratch regarding the sheer amount of kit you have lategame. best remedy i have is simply to name items for their respective owner. anyone have any useful mods as far as this goes? i also just learned after like a hundred plus hours in the game that skipping a supply raid loses you a region, whyyyyy

I always do them so I don't regret it when I don't have elerium or something.

I sometimes skip those and nothing ever happens except for a warning. Usually it's retaliations that for you to recontact a region.
yeah i was sitting on more than enough supplies from the previous month and i had just exhausted my barracks and was like "nah" and then immediately got a very unsexy voicemail from council daddy and india peaced out of the resistance apparently just because advent's shipment of viper lube got delivered on time
I accidentally destroyed a crate of "Viral diffusion summaries" because the game misrepresented the explosion radius of a nearby car I blew up, but then wiped the floor with ADVENT, killing everybody. Then the Speaker chimes in over the radio talking about how a bunch of ADVENT troops had been personally commended for their brave defeat of XCOM today. I wonder if they got some sectoids to puppet their corpses around for the ceremony.
I've been making a new kind of poster recently. Album covers for Bradford's new band, Bradford and the Rebels. [t]https://i.imgur.com/L0jA8LQ.png[/t][t]https://i.imgur.com/PGr5GZz.png[/t][t]https://i.imgur.com/DmXzXWj.png[/t][t]https://i.imgur.com/5udNAP5.png[/t]
Last one is perfect.
That fucking feeling when your medic with ever-vigilant gets a overwatch shot that executes the sectopod about to kill one of your soldiers.... holy fuck man that was a rush lmfao

I wish they'd make the Long War Perk Pack for WOTC. I'd much rather play those classes than the base four, but not at the expense of playing without WOTC. SMG pack would be nice too, but it doesn't look like any of this stuff is gonna happen any time soon.

My friend gave me Xcom2 for my birthday two weeks ago, and I bought myself the War of the Chosen DLC after finishing the campaign for the first time. Best forty bucks I ever spent, and that is just because I can make stupid posters all day.
Having never done programming in my life, I'm pretty happy with how this mod is coming along so far. Still lots of work to do, but here's the gist of what I'm going for. I'm trying to create a weapon that is essentially 3 weapons in one. Those weapons will be an assault rifle, a flamethrower, and a grenade launcher. If anyone can figure out what it is, you get a cookie. This video demonstrates the flamethrower and assault rifle aspects of the weapon in use. They function as they should, although the particles used are currently only bullets. Flames will come in the future. I need to tackle implementing the grenade launcher first, however. When I finish the implementation in a manner that I feel is acceptable to proceed, then I will officially announce what the mod is. Stay tuned!
A month late but isn't this supposed to be that weapon from the Fifth Element lmao
When the weapon is done, it'll have a different model (naturally), but nope. Not the super awesome gun from the Fifth Element. :v: What I will say, is that the flamethrower is only present in one unique version of the weapon, and that the main weapon is an assault rifle with an underslung grenade launcher.

The vial was hung on its platform with care, In hopes that XCOM would not soon be there. The civilians were nestled all snug in their pods, While caustic green fluids ate through their bod's. And the vipers in their chestplates and I in my armor, Had just settled down to become human farmers. When out in the loading bay I heard such a boom, I sprang from my patrol and ran to my doom. Away to the door I flew like a flash, And used up two moves in one single dash. Searchlights on the breast of the newfallen snow, Gave a grim, grisly view of the carnage below. When, what to my wandering eyes should be seen, But a jet helicopter, with a 6-man XCOM team! With a little squad leader, so lively and quick, I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick. More rapid than eagles the Skyranger came, And he whistled, and shouted, and called his squad's names. "Now, Yasuko Shiro! now Charlie 'Beast' Throne! On Friendly! On Wallace! On Peter van Doorn! To the top of the base! To the top of the wall! Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!" As archons before grouped enemies fly, When they use Blazing Pinions and mount to the sky, So up to the base-roof the soldiers they flew, With a squad full of mag guns, and Santa Claus too. And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof, The prancing and pawing of each combat boot. As I drew in my head and was turning around, Through the skylight St. Nicholas crashed with a bound. He was dressed up in kevlar, from his head to his knee, And his clothes were all tarnished with blood and debris. A bundle of 'nades he had flung on his back, And he looked like an arms dealer, who'd finally cracked. His scope-how it twinkled! his guns were quite scary! His bloodstains like roses, his bomb like a cherry! His drow little mouth was drawn up like a bow, And the beard on his chin was as white as the snow. His Cuban cigar he held tight in his teeth, And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath. He had a smug face and a tall muscled frame, That recoiled when he fired, and messed up his aim. He was well-toned and strong, a right dangerous elf, And I scampered on my turn, in spite of myself! A wink of his eye, and a twist of his head, Soon gave me to know that my whole pod was dead. He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work, And he filled me with lead, then turned with a jerk. And launching explosives at our sheildbearer's nose, And giving a nod, up to evac he rose! He sprang to his skyranger, to his team gave a whistle, And away they all flew, like an elerium missle. But I heard him exclaim, as I bled out from his crits, "Vigilo Confido, you orange-blooded shits!"
In order to celebrate EXALT's invasion of LMAO Pics, I'm going to reinstall vanilla XCOM 2 without any DLC. Can anyone give me some advice aside from standard XCOM instructions? I know to burn through flashbangs like a tank burns through gasoline early on when Vipers and Lancers show up, but aside from that I don't know a whole lot. I stopped playing around my first Muton encounter.
I bought XCOM 2 and fuck me, the mission layout gets brutally bullshit at times. Get sent to destroy a data relay, okay. Said relay is inside a building. Less okay, it means my sniper is kinda crippled but whatever. Said relay has 3 mutons just on the other side of the building that all converge the moment I set foot near it. I move a unit to the only other piece of cover available, a car, she gets stunned by an enemy, someone else gets up close and takes care of it, ANOTHER muton shows up and throws a grenade at the car, killing them both. Am I James T. Kirk? Because missions like that feel like the fucking Kobayashi Maru.

With Phantom you can set your entire squad up just outside of enemy LOS, overwatch them all, and once they take one step into a squad members vision you get a massive overwatch trap on the enemy turn and then it switches to your turn where you can kill everything else. You can't camp out for hours like you could in EU but you can usually spare a turn to do this a few times a mission. You can also combine this tactic with the sniper ability that lets Overwatch trigger in squad sight and you have an infinite range overwatch shot that can trigger enemies on their turn regardless of what direction they move. Grenadiers are also great options for combo-ing with phantom. If you can get your grenadier close enough without triggering the enemy pod you can drop a grenade right on a group up enemy pod before they get the chance to scamper and spread out. This whole tactic is also a more reliable with the Gotcha mod, which warns you if you'll alert enemies somewhere along your path of travel when moving to a new position. The information is already given to you by LoS indicators, but in vanilla you need to scrub every single tile along your path of travel with the cursor, which is a pain in the ass and sometimes still lies to you about whether that enemy will spot you.

You should aim to only trigger a pod with your first or second blue moves of a turn. After that, have everyone trail behind and take safe cover positions if you encounter no pods Secondly its important to identify which routes to an objective have the best cover a few turns ahead of time, avoiding situations where you're in a road and such and the only cover is explosive half cover
Is the guy who did all those super cool headgear still doing stuff for xcom?
