the squadsight penalty in 2 really maims the appeal of regular snipers compared to gunslingers imo. 0% chance to hit was kind of shocking to see on a sniper after EU. maps are bigger, yeah, but that's kind of the nature of the role.
My snipers still hit pretty reliably with squadsight. Eventually their aim gets so high that it offsets it.
I had my sniper on the far side of the map once and he fucking annihilated a dude on the opposite map. Was around 30/40% aim. Also, spent a good hour or so fixing my character pool as the pool reverted the majority of my saved soldiers to their fugly ballistic state I resaved them all after making sure that the ballistic/kevlar versions of them were all kitted out.

It's been done by multiple rookies to the exact same sniper. And for anyone who's played World in Conflict, the sniper in question happens to be Bannon :v:.

I miss that rule, seems like everyone's top priority is to spam grenades now that there's zero penalty for doing that.

Yeah, it's fun to watch the landscape crumble from your bombardments plus, you can imagine what kind of terror and carnage you bring upon ADVENT by making everything, including themselves, explode.
I find explosive usage more justifiable because of the armour mechanic. Explosions are THE solution to it, as far as I know. I usually bring two Grenadiers on a mission with different grenade setups and it works pretty fun all the time, especially if both have WAR Suits then oh boy aliens get exploded. also, I have a weird thing going on my campaign right now that Sectopod body doesn't actually get delivered to Avenger. I've killed at least 5 Sectopods now and I don't have the research for it, so I can't get what I really need from that research. It's irritating me.

They could be a clique within the ethereal society that was cast out. To me, that's a simpler explanation than something involving a hitherto unseen alien race, but it's all really just speculation.[/sp]
