Those ME heads are pretty shit tho, he messed up the textures badly. At least that's what it looks like from the pictures, although it may be a negative effect of having reduced graphics.

nah the shaders are just improperly set up, you can make shit from 2003 look good if you know how to do good shaders
You know I loved the idea of the character pool, but now that I'm actually getting some people over and over again it's just not as interesting as getting some random dude who turns out to be awesome.

You should be able to adjust the rarity. Make it so it doesn't pull from the pool so frequently.

Meh, with all the mods I installed more often than not the random dudes I get are weirdass characters with no arms or civilian outfits clipping through the armor, and always the same old backstory of trying to destroy an Advent tower by crashing into it like it's some sort of fad. I downloaded a few lore-friendly character pools and did a few dozens myself. It's much better to come across characters who were actually aesthetically thought out and have an actual, interesting backstory.

I use this, [URL="http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=623911299&searchtext="]CP Jagged Alliance Series Character Pack[/URL], since it adds over 100? people from the Classic Jagged Alliance to Jagged Alliance 2. I never get the problem with repeating characters anymore.
It's better when you have a lot of people in the character pool, so it doesn't repeat all the time.
I have a larger character pool on my desktop, but the pools aren't linked to the cloud so I'm stuck with a handful of recurring people I made on my laptop that come up all the time. It was initially funny to have an almost naked Lincoln running around with a grenade launcher but honestly got old kinda fast. I just go "oh look it's Kramer, better hire him" and then he's cool for a while and dies.
I think what I'll do is delete any "celebrity" characters like that, adjust the rarity and keep only friends and A-Team/B-Team characters in my pool. It's harder to get attached to people I already made I find.
I want to keep creating new characters in my pool because I've already had same FPers come up in all my three campaigns and I just removed those from my character pool completely. :v:

Just spent 10 hours doing couch co-op with a bud, with each of us taking on half the deployed Squad.
He's not very good so we played on Normal but that with a couple of beers, some dumb mods and stuff he hadn't seen in game yet it was great, fully recommend it.

Personally I would say yes, especially if you're trying to match the same aesthetic that the base game has. Most of the metals and plastic in the game sorta have that nice constant shine to them, [URL="https://downloads.2kgames.com/xcom2/blog_images/greg.jpg"]like this.[/URL] There isn't much besides fabric that's matte.

Well I have finally turned my game around, things seemed dark for a while but I've got myself setup OK now.
I feel like I'm in a perpetual state of impending loss until second tier equipment. Soldiers just seem to die so easy and having a good squad is really important.
Just started playing 2, decided on veteran mode since in most games 'easy' mode can be pretty boring
After a few missions, several dead soldiers and many expletives (several dozen missed shots) I decided on changing to rookie
The game is a lot less stressful now and I've managed to get a grasp on things. Despite my scrubbyness I've just completed a difficult dark event prevention mission without getting anyone killed (but everyone did get wounded with varying severity)
Fun game and I'll likely go up to Veteran if it starts feeling too easy or I finish my first run, but why does the game have to run so bad? I'm on a 980 ti and have turned down most of the settings/followed the optimisation steam guide and still dip under 60 a lot
Has there been any word on controller support? I know they said something before or after launch about it.

I don't know why the spec/roughness map is making the weapon chrome.
I made a defected ADVENT Trooper as a character in my character pool. First thing that happened to him was he got mind controlled by a Sectoid, fucker's trying to take him back. After freeing him, he proved his loyalty by shooting an ADVENT Captain right in the face.
So far so good. Shame that I had to copy the Assault Rifles material over mine to be able to customize it. I also need to redo the masks.

Finally got it to work! I've gotta remove the attachments, and replace the clip with the one from the M16. I might need several people to test it/make snapshots afterwards, but it's looking good so far!
