I really wish someone would start porting models from Mass Effect games now. There are some head model ports already, so I'm hopeful for weapons and armour.
Hell, a Mass Effect spin-off game with the gameplay of XCom 2 would be pretty sweet.

As I said before, implementing some characters from ME3 MP would be pretty rad because there's quite a big diversity of characters to choose from.
Porting is nice and all, but I'd really like to see some more original models or content in general. Especially if it tries to emulate the game's artistic direction.

hoping someone does a cold war PMC overhaul conversion

This. Thinking now, all the abilities translate SUPERBLY to XCOM. Need Vanguards Biotic Charging into a group only to Nova them into meatpaste.
I wonder if its possible to make the standard sword have a bleeding debuff
so when I first made an Exo suit, I was hoping for some Elysium level barebones badassery, and that's literally exactly what I got. Between tier 2 armor, railgun rifles, some liberal application of tattoos, and a couple exosuits jogging around...it was really starting to feel like I was leading around a deadly band of gritty sci-fi mercenaries.
And then I researched plasma weapons.

Plasma tier, overly sci-fi as it is, sucks to me because of how goddamn shiny it is. Especially when you try to mix it with custom armor parts, it's fucking impossible because it's so glossy it won't match with anything whatsoever.

Geth could be used as a new enemy time - having multiple Geth types exist on battlefield and then have a Geth Prime appear that buffs all Geth around him and is really difficult to kill would make an interesting challenge. XCOM could then be able to create their own Geth unit - Geth Juggernaut that is able to create a shield in front of him that allies can use as full cover, for instance.

But having Cerberus Phoenix soldier armour would be just insanely silly :v:
I'm attempting another Xcom 2 stream. For anyone who feels like watching. There's me and some British man.

Good thing Bluescreen rounds would shred them, because it sounds like they'd be OP. As for the Cerberus Phoenix soldiers, that'd be bitchin'. Biotic Slam a bunch of fools, even behind cover, lash enemies towards you and then whip the bitch in the face.
i think there is a tendency to vastly overestimate the quality and ambition of what mods will achieve with any given game.

You just have to give it time, look at any Bethesda game. Big mods take time and learning of the tools.
idk i'm a bit disappointed in XCOM 2's modding selection as it currently stands. i can only stand so many recolored objects and faceprops.

that's true but going by that example i hesitate to name a single "big" mod for bethesda games that was ever even completed let alone polished and praiseworthy.

There's already a bunch of moderate-sized gameplay-changing mods out for Xcom2:

There's even a total rebalance: Spectrum
The game came out 2 months ago and didn't even have a previous game's modding community to cannibalize. I think Xcom2 modding is doing just fine.
Ï'm considering buying XCOM 2, I haven't played the first one but as I understand that is fine. The thing is, I see almost nothing but negative reviews on the Steam page, is the game that buggy? Should I wait until it's on sale?

Most of the bugs have been ironed out at this point, though there are still some around. Mostly to do with shooting through walls and floors. I would definitely recommend it, It's a very well done tactics game.
What ever happened to that ODST model set?
...I might have been waiting to buy the game until they came out.
Ninja's waiting for bloo to iron a few things out last I heard.

I know what you mean, it's nice that we have a dozen helmets, but we still only have 4 vests. And that's only for Kevlar, you get less as you tech up.
I wish some people would do more and better quality 40k stuff. I did my Guardsman com thing over the weekend, and it might have been better if there was some real imperial guard model ports or look alikes. All there is is a helmet, and it looks terrible.
But holy shit is guardsmen com fun. Start a mission with 16 people. Usually only half of them come back. The death board is huge. The best part is a lot of people don't get classes. Anyone over slot 8 bugs out and doesn't get a class promotion at the end of a mission, so they're rookies forever.
Do we have any footage of that?

Wow so I only just realized that the official XCOM twitter posted that XCOM film poster I made.

I am awaited!
The M60 is almost done, just gotta fix up a couple of things and then I'm ready to release this weapon. There were about 30 textures that I had to import, and I had to make a custom mask since the default mask wasn't for the entire weapon, just the top of the body.

I couldn't figure out how to animate the ammo belt, so I left it alone. I don't have time to mess around anymore, so this might be the last thing I port for a while. I don't know when I will have freetime to port weapons again.
Wait, is it an assault rifle or a cannon replacement?
[editline]27th April 2016[/editline]
Rad as shit either way

Not as a replacement, but the grenadier and any classes that uses the assault rifle will be able to use the M60.
