The RPK and RPK-74 will eventually be ported, just not sure when.
That might take a while, and unlike creating a voicepack, a million things can go wrong with 3dsmax, Maya, etc and I have to troubleshoot that. I've yet to decide what to do for the tutorial. If you really want to know, you can add me on steam and I'll walk you through.
I mean just a tutorial on getting weapon in game. I know how to do the modelling stuff

Oh, that. I can write a tutorial over that.
I've not touched XCOM 2 since early March, can someone give me a rundown on what happened since then?
Did they fix the performance issues?
Are MECs confirmed for Shen's Last Gift?
What's the mandatory mod list nowadays?
Yeah MECs are more or less confirmed after some guy played around with the SDK and found files referring to "DLC 3" which included the phrase "MEC" in severla lines of code.
Last Gift time

XCOM website says PS4 and Xbox One versions are coming out later this year. Hope this wasn't all the announcement was.

It would be interesting if they added in mod support like Fallout 4 but then again seeing as how popular those Halo customizations are on Steam Workshop, I wonder how would MS react seeing Halo stuff on PS4.
Well everyone, here's that tutorial that I said that I would write:
XCOM 2 Weapon Tutorial: Setting up your weapon in Unreal.
I'm pretty sure that I've gone over everything, except the templates, that you would need to do in Unreal, plus I've written additional tutorials on how to add sound to your weapons, and change the particle effects on the weapon. If you need clarity on a certain part in the tutorial, then just tell me. Don't be afraid to give some feedback!
they're gonna have to win me back with Last Wish
everything post release has been shit so far
I'm a little sad that we're losing the PC exclusivity, but at the same time I'm glad they're opening it up to Consoles, bringing new audiences in and more people into the struggle against the ADVENT.
Reminder that from the start you should have tempered your expectations: You weren't buying an Enemy-Within style expansion, you were buying Slingshot and Elite Soldier Pack style add-ons.
I've not played at all since Anarchy's Children was released, I want all the gameplay altering DLCs going at once for the first time, so I can fear the boss aliens and my MECs will be awesome. God I want MECs.

Here's to hoping for Long War 2

I find it strange that they went with this style of dlc, given how successful firaxis is with the expansion model.
Here's to hoping for Long War 2
Ehhh I'd rather not have that since Long War was basically throwing as much RNG as it could in your face
The reinforcement pack stuff might not be all we're getting. There very well could be a full expansion down the line, these are just ad ons so far.
I find it strange that they went with this style of dlc, given how successful firaxis is with the expansion model.
But it's also consistent with Firaxis's DLC plans.
DLC add-ons first (new civilizations and scenarios for Civ V and BE, Slingshot and the canceled Furies one) then expansion. (Gods and Kings, Enemy Within)
Still sad that EU never got a second expansion like Civ5 though.
Here's the Colt M653 (XM177E2 by MACV-SOG) Commando so far. I finally figured out what the MetalMask parameter after writing that tutorial, and made my own, combining the Normal Map and the Tint Mask together. I also redid the Tint Mask as well, adding details using the same method, except I made it white.
Top one is attached with AC110090 scope with colors, bottom is attached with a AR15 silencer without colors/camo. I admit I've took some liberties with it, like most of the weapons I've ported so far.

I wonder though, should I go the full mile and make the handguard/stock also customizable or leave it as is?
: Yes, I should make the stock/handguard customizable!
: No! Leave it as is.
I'm also planning on port the M16A4 and completely redo the M16/XM16E1, and release them all at the same time. Redoing the XM16E1 will effectively make the Black Ops M16 mod obsolete, since Heffy's model is 1000x better than that shoddy BLOPS weapon that I've ported.

Been waiting for this to go on sale since release, but I'm a little uncertain about the purchase still. Reading lots of legitimate complaints; bugs, performance issues, timed levels etc.
I can't tell if these are game-defining issues or slight annoyances.
From what I gather, the DLC so far is pointless and often detrimental, so I'll ask a) If I loved X-Com and the originals, should I buy this now? and b) I'm under the impression getting the deluxe version is not worth it at all - so should I get the base game now, and wait-and-see what the Last Gift has to offer?
I think people's expectations from the DLC was way too high. They expected Enemy Within, they got Slingshot.
I would get the DLCs if only for support for any future mods that may require them.
From what I gather though, the DLC so far is essentially some out of place cosmetics, and some terribly designed 'boss' events and missions?
Of course this means nothing if the base game itself isn't up to scratch, which I still can't determine. Lots of good reviews, but lots of consistent and legitimate criticism too.
Personally I'm 100% happy with the DLC and the base game, even without mods. But then I also don't have a problem with the turn timers and stuff.

I didn't mind the turn timers at all, but I tried the extended timer mod for my second run and I gotta say the game is a lot more fun when you're not in a rush. I had this fantastic VIP extraction where pretty much everything went wrong and I had 4 survivors, 1 with the VIP, all over the map and it was really cool trying to survive while getting to the extraction point in time.
Butt puckered up with the last guy but I got him out on the last turn. Wouldn't have been possible without the mod.

people keep saying this but my expectations were based on exactly the same information as you and they were still pretty bunk
people keep saying this but my expectations were based on exactly the same information as you and they were still pretty bunk
Firaxis doesn't release big expansions straight off though. Civ 5 got a lot of small expansions between the big ones, and Enemy Within didn't come out within a few weeks of EU's launch.
Like, we knew Anarchy's Children would be a costume dlc, and Alien Hunters obviously wasn't going to be huge considering it's price. In fact I think it's better than Slingshot which really only added a bunch of poorly implemented missions.
that's not what i mean, again
i'm talking about their quality
[editline]10th June 2016[/editline]
anarchy's children was pretty minimal (insult to injury honestly bizarre) and alien hunters had the same art design issues, even if it was an honest attempt at new gameplay. sort of overzealous in that regard, imo.
