I had it happen to me on the viper lair where I had Bradford, plus RahkshiLord with Bowcaster + Superior Extended Mag + all overwatch perks. I kinda assumed it was just the aliens collectively shitting themselves out of fear.

I doubt it was meant to be taken seriously. I know plenty of people who are still waiting for their 40K overhaul that may never happen

I really need to ask someone to try and make touch screen controls for X2. Playing it on a touchscreen laptop isn't too great, honestly, mostly because it needs double-tap to even recognize that I want that button to be selected and then double-tap it again to actually use it. Un-highlighting that button is done by swiping away from it and sometimes it would go to previous menu instead. Avenger isn't fit for touch screens at all :saddowns: The game itself is also all about double-tapping everything. Maybe soon enough Firaxis will release touch-screen setting like Civ V does...and EW.
VIP mission comes up, as it does, this time to capture a dark VIP. With half of my A-team injured and two thirds of the rest otherwise occupied, it's up to Cpt. van der Linde to lead the B-team to victory. Entry is easy enough. Two pods; Officer and Stun Lancer, Muton and two Sectoids. They are defeated in two turns, with no injuries taken. Moving in, the VIP is spotted two turns later. The evac is on top of the building, so this should be easy. Key word: Should. The Aliens have other plans. As I move Thin Man closer to see what's ahead, I am given a good lowdown: two very angry pods of Mutons, Lancers, Troopers, and a Shieldbearer. Uh oh. With 5 turns to go I am forced to entrench and prepare for the oncoming assault, and a reinforcement pod with a MEC pops in for a spot of killing the shit out of my men as well. Not to be deterred, I throw man after man through hails of overwatch fire to the EVAC, and all make it alive (but not necessarily well). With three turns left, Cpt. van der Linde is two turns away from the evac but alone against 9 aliens. I use the first turn to have her run to the roof, where she is engaged by an Officer and a Trooper, both missing, and the MEC jumps up to join her. With the second turn, I run her as close to the evac as possible. She isn't there, but she's in full cover. Three men take shots at her and miss, and the rest go into overwatch. One muton decides to suppress her. At this point, I'm laughing manically. She has shadowstep. Free to move as she sees fit, she runs straight to the evac on the final turn, flipping off the aliens as she ascends the rope to freedom. I must be crazy or stupid because I'm trying to use the LW mods but I don't see the toolbox menu.
I was doing my guardscom stream today and sent 8 guys on a suicide mission (complete suicide). The last man alive was mind controlled and pistol executed the only other survivor. I think I need to rescue him from the Advent, then execute him for killing his own men.
For some reason my game glitched out and my only sniper is equipped with an Xpad, like the hacking one. It won't let me change his weapon at all. I suspect the SPARK upgrades mode might've broken him.

I want to tell a quick story I just witnessed. I had positioned everyone to storm the hallway when two mutons and a Andromedon walked out on one end. [img_thumb]http://i.cubeupload.com/AwrwUS.jpg[/img_thumb] I was able to shred their armor and kill one with the snipers far away with pistols, and another with lightning hands. [img_thumb]http://i.cubeupload.com/XWeRGw.jpg[/img_thumb] Then came the andromedon who was slightly wounded, the sniper shot and critical hit! But since it was my first Andromedon he of course rose up again. The only thing left was a ranger with Run and Gun, he dashed, shot critical hit but no cigar. The Andromedon walked up to the first soldier and attacked... Missed! But the sniper also had Return Fire and shot it. All in a turns work.
I feel like if you do enough damage to an Andromedon, it should be destroyed completely instead of resurrected.
