Well boys after 5 months of waiting, I finally will be able to play XCOM 2 soon since I got a new desktop coming in tomorrow!

Should I make a Freespace voicepack? They're pilot sounds, but they are professional military sounding and there is a sore lack of those other than the default ones

Yes, but last gift destroyed all the customization of my huge pool. No custom voices/armors. And my backup character pool/lists are invisible when I try to load them.
After spending a few hours trying to fix the situation I rage quit and gave up. So sad that all that time spent is gone. I should have expected that installing mods, but still.

Worth noting that SPARKs don't use any unique voicelines as far as I'm aware. I don't have the DLC myself and can't confirm, but that's what I've seen on Steam Community and r/xcom2mods

These little machineguns on wheels is what i miss the most about XCOM:EU. I usually went with gene soldiers and them, rarely MECs.
I never learned to love SHIVs til I played Long War.

We've had robotic wepon platforms like these for a while now, just not autonomous.

Considering that they are handled like any other unit, I like to think they're remote controlled. SPARK units clearly have an AI, but like soldiers they follow the commanders orders.
You know what? Spark is fucking broken. It's a walking high cover rocket turret that panics mutons. Getting it early on seems almost like a must.

Curiously i looked on the wiki and apparantly SHIV's are autonomous, but i never though of them as such, always figured they were just drones.

The thing about sparks is they are now a legit way to pull off that thing Beaglerush liked to do except now it' not really penalized.
You left a soldier our of cover to trigger enemies during concealment so they loose their first turn, this was patched so often the enmities would just shoot you and then get to cover. Sparks give 0 shits about being shot at and can reaction fire twice with a bit of luck.
Another thing I've noticed is just how awkward those ruler aliens are. It's like "Ok, I've secured the VIP now all I need to do is carry him to the pickup point aaaand theres the floater lord out of nowhere" . Do they spawn in at random? They're not a part of the patrols?
Good news everyone, Millenia has given me permission to use his textures and models that he made to port to X2, except there a catch to it. Some of the models that he used aren't his, they're from the authors from Gamebanana. Technically, I could also port some of the New Vegas weapons using the textures from his Weapon Retexture Project, but that's a discussion for another day.
Needless to say, I can finally port some weapons that I couldn't before. I can finally replace the god awful M14 and Uzi then port the Galil and FAMAS (If I can find the original author). I'm pretty excited!
