E3245; you have been the single greatest asset this xcom modding community has. Voices, weapons, music, and other assorted items, and documentation for them to boot. You've helped and inspired so many other content makers. And for a pure consumer of all this content, its given me hundreds of hours of additional content.
Seriously, thank you. You really don't get enough of it on the workshop.
^ yea, still holds record for being my hero of xcom 2 modding so far.
On the topic of modding, anyone ever have those moments where they wish someone can get assets from other games to put in xcom 2 already. Been feeling that since I been wanting more robotic limbs/ augmented limbs from games like deus ex. Especially for female characters since I stop using the halo mods considering they make every new soldier appear with invisible limbs on each new game
The first batch of helmets are finally done. It includes the Undercover, Prototype (both masked and unmasked), and Blackout for both males and females.

Awesome as always!
New XCOM 2 Update includes Controller support (I'm sticking mouse cause preference) but I'm surprise the devs snuck in the first person exploration (Kinda) for the avenger. I'm wondering if the other side of the avenger is just a slab wall of grey or something
EDIT: nvm, saw their 360 degree video and saw they actually put some stuff on the other side

PSA adding onto this, if you have a modded game you wish to finish 'soon' make sure you run steam in offline mode, updates like these break virtually all mods and makes save games unloadable untill each individual mod you have is updated by the creator, if the creator does not update their mod then you not likely to get the game back.
IF the game has already started to update, it's too late. The only way you can avoid this is by making sure the game thinks it's up to date.
So I have a hard, throbbing, aching question. Why the fuck are there no Imperial Guards mod yet? I mean, it's the perfect setting and everything.

The update broke mostly almost every UI mod out there, and Games Workshop also broke several things as well. Other mods should be fine.

There was a voice pack within a few days of the games release.
Anyone getting this weird snappy feel on the avenger screen when moving around using the wasd keys? I think there's probably some weirdness in the update considering the 2 buttons on the bottom when customizing soldiers in the avengers seems to be swapped
So I recently discovered a neat little gem called silent storm its a WWII era game with gameplay very similar to original xcom and interestingly perhaps even suspiciously it has a lot of the same features as modern xcom despite being made in 2003 such as fully destructive multistory environments a [sp]MEC-like[/sp] unit and the sniper uses an arm prop firing animation that is nearly identical to 2012 xcom.
It makes me wonder if it was an inspiration for firaxis for the reboot.
Always felt that XCOM was made to be played with controller in mind, Keyboard & mouse just feels wrong on so many levels for this game, controller's just better, and much more comfortable.
Man I forgot how fucking awful the map design in EU can be. Many of the maps are so open you're just forced to activate every pod on the map regardless of how you play. Like, how do you not activate everything to the left, right and inside of the train on the indoor train station map?
My favorite was the giant highway of half-cover horror on the VERY FIRST MISSION.
The map that I hated the most was the one where for the first 2 turns your only options for cover were cars, most of which were only half cover too.
My absolute most hated map was the German street of the damned. You know the one, where you hear souls crossing from one realm to the other while there's no combat going on with a nice pinch of heavy rain. Always in Germany that map. I hate it cause it has that one blind spot near the end which was never patched, where the enemy can see you if they are behind the truck, but you can't see them. That, and that one time where a shotgunner missed 3 100% shots on the same floater during a terror mission.
IDK about worst maps but my favorite one was the observatory. Except when I played 1v1 with Nick.
Well i'll go against the grain and say i prefer the EW/EU maps. Most of the maps in that game had a slightly altered clone but they all felt 'individual' and different, where as everything in xcom 2 feels the same.
The random generation makes the gameplay better because you don't really know what to expect (though that's not really the case for me anymore, the same segments keep popping up next to eachother), but the worls are more boring imo.
I'm very dissapointed that we havent got anything like the Base Defense level, that was a beautiful map.
Rejoiced today when I heard a debug camera good for taking screenshots at any angle in skirmishes and on the Avenger was added as a console function.
And then I got pissed off when I realised after taking the time to reinstall the game and boot it up to find you cannot move the debug camera without a controller. What the hell. You really telling me it would stretch Firaxis to have included WASD or even arrow key controls?

I know that ToggleDebugCamera is built-in console command for Unreal 3, so that might require an engine level change. The command was always there, even at launch, but you needed a controller to actually use it.
I wish I had a working controller so I can take cooler screenshots for my mods.

PSA: if anyone's getting that targeting bug introduced by the latest patch, there's a mod that fixes it.

So how's the coop mod handling? I haven't had the chance lately to try it out yet. Speaking of if anybody wants to, hit me up so we can play.
Has this always been like this?

I've just started noticing it after the update; it seems like a lot of the newer customization options don't anchor to one another properly when moving. I've got no mods installed either.
This is an issue only when you're editing the soldiers. In all other situations everything works as intended.
Kinda out of the blue, but I've ported the M21 from CoD: Modern Warfare Remastered.

I know I'm late to this, but only recently have I been able to try out Shen's last gift, and I gotta say Julian is just fuckin' gold, especially on the SPARKS for this line alone.

he's like if Glados had a brother AI thats aggressive settings been set to the max
Are SPARKS worth it late game? I had tried the mission very early on and became very frustrated at the waves and attrition it put my squad through; ending up on a wipe once we got to the roof.
Should I take the time, now that I'm near the end, to retry the mission?

You might want to grab the SPARKS at the earliest convenience, around the time you get magnetic weapons. The longer you wait, the more useless SPARKS become, since it would take too long to upgrade and for them rank up by the time you hit the final mission.
