Honestly I just use mods to keep everyone in the T1 gear. It just looks better than 2 and 3 IMO.
Well shit I just started my first playthrough and kept both DLC's activated. Would it be worth going back on an hour or two of gameplay to start a save with it off or just push through?
My understanding is that the Alien Rulers only start appearing in your campaign after you scan the mission that activates them, if you don't do the mission you should be fine. Disabling it from the in game menus only stops the mission from appearing on the globe, but the Alien rules will appear randomly in missions. If you want to turn them off completely you have to do so from outside of the game. I think. I don't have either DLC's.

It was kinda mesmerizing watching Rico Rodriguez: Spartan edition grapple around the final level in the heaviest, bulkiest Mjolnir set I could make :v:.
Another annoying thing about T3 is that it has a permanent shiny metallic look to it, which makes camo look particularly awful.
WHich is why the Anarchy's Children options for it are great. They're not bloody mirror-polished.
I think the worst part of XCOM 2 is that for every single mission, the Avenger moves away from where you were to the mission site. It's like, in the first XCOM, you flew the dropship around the world from your base, but now you can hardly get anything done on harder difficulties because every few days you get more missions and it takes forever to even pick up the monthly supply drop.
Well, here's my last mods for this year. I'm not sure if I will continue porting weapons next year, but we'll see what happens. I kinda want to move on to other things, like Uniforms for example, but I need some more practice on skinning and such. Beautiful work as always.
you know the councilman and van dorn are both bald, they both have pretty similar build, they both work in politics, and I've never seen them in the same room together
Remember, we will be having all the fun.
you know the councilman and van dorn are both bald, they both have pretty similar build, they both work in politics, and I've never seen them in the same room together
Does he put a green screen up in the middle of that highway and get someone to man the camera to call you to tell you to come rescue him then?
Does he put a green screen up in the middle of that highway and get someone to man the camera to call you to tell you to come rescue him then?
The Councilman was never actually attacked. He just faked his death and went into deeper cover.
Come on guys, three little Sectoids wouldn't have a chance at mind controlling Van Doorn.
Do acid grenades bust cover?
Yes, IIRC light cover gets destroyed right away while heavy cover takes one or two turns before it melts down.
Hey everyone. Just got XCOM 2 with (I think) all the DLC when it was discounted on black Friday. I was just wondering: how come half my soldiers show up like Village People rejects, wearing tiny leather chaps and open leather vests or no shirt at all? I mean I'm all for diversity and all but what kind of outfit is the resistance running here? Seriously though: is it a DLC outfit set that is enabled from the start of the game or something?

Same goes for cosmetic mods, you can use the slider to prevent RNG from creating an army of mutant recruits.
The only negative about the sliders for me is that for some reason it will cause gaps in the option and I can't get access to all sliders for the cosmetic mods that I want to either tone down or dial up the chances
The slider is finicky, since sliding it to the left doesn't always mean that it'll set it to zero. And most mods don't have that slider in place.
Some mod I have has messed up the camera and target priority. So now what I have selected and what the camera is pointed at may not actually be what they're targeting. It adds a new random element to Xcom. This should be a feature.
I just finished xcom 2. While there are lots of improvements, I think that xcom 1 had much better atmosphere and "feel". Take for example, psionics. In xcom 1 there is a neat cutscene with everyone crowding around to see the new-and-improved soldier. Shen also voices some proper concerns when you visit him in engineering, which make psionics feel like serious business. Compare with xcom 2 where you just throw some no-name rookie in a lab for a few days and out pops a magic man. It just didn't feel important.
Yes, IIRC light cover gets destroyed right away while heavy cover takes one or two turns before it melts down.
Played around with them a while and it doesn't seem like cover breaks, or I'd it does it only does so very slowly and inconsistently. I watched a park bench survive being covered in acid for like five turns until the goo just faded, the park bench completely intact. I think it does burn through ceilings and fall onto the ground below, but it takes a couple turns so why even bother with that, you can blow up their feet instantly with normal nades. The armor melting makes them well worth equipping though

If you want to melt an object or ground away, just blow it off clean with an explosive.
So, about 6 hours in, I found out the only way to actually disable Alien Hunters is to manually uninstall the DLC- I put all the sliders down to minimum, still ran into a Viper King (1 turn after seeing my first regular Viper, even!). Can I disable the DLC and carry on the playthough, or am I going to have to start over?
Start over. Only way to disable it.
Start over. Only way to disable it.
That sucks- even if I have a save from before I first started the initial Viper King mission, will I have to restart completely?
That sucks- even if I have a save from before I first started the initial Viper King mission, will I have to restart completely?
Yes. Each save consists of a configuration which tells the game wether or not DLC X is enabled/disabled. Only way to have it be disabled is to restart with a new playthrough.
This info may be incorrect but i trust my mate who told me (i dont have the DLC he does) If you like the cosmetics, leave it checked / installed, just Don't scan the beacon and don't use the weapons. The rulers only start showing up once you do that mission.
