The only way to avoid the content without uninstalling the DLC is to have the missions enabled and ignoring them. The dialog that shows at the start of a new game only refers to the missions and specifically states that the other content will still be available.
Progress is being made: [img_thumb]https://my.mixtape.moe/rfrmbk.jpg[/img_thumb] This Anon, I swear.
Progress is being made: [img_thumb]https://my.mixtape.moe/rfrmbk.jpg[/img_thumb] This Anon, I swear.
If the anon is able to make a soldier eject out of it when it dies, that'll be even more mindblowing.
Probably won't likely considering it's a spark unit and that making a soldier come out of it would take alot more programming to make it happen
Just give your soldiers Titanfall gear and pretend that the Titan is on sentry mode.

That's neat It would be even better if I could I find a reason or a way to use Sparks on Legendary but its neat nonetheless
Andromedon, in an inactive pod, spots my flanked ranger on the andromedon's turn. Ranger on the hacking terminal, the only one close enough to hack it in time. Then ON THE SAME TURN the andromedon shoots and crits my Ranger, critically wounding her, making it impossible to win the mission, sticking a bar onto the avatar project, might lose me the campaign.

XCOM is all about you loudly cursing when your inbred grunt somehow lands a beautiful shot at 10% when he/she is normally useless.
is there something that makes XCOM 2 insanely long and gruelling yet
Install Long War and No Avatar Project = Infinite suffering.

^ Just incase, thats Beaglerush's YT camapign. So you may not want to watch the above unless you seen it. Though if you've been watching, you'll know exactly how it ends.
[sp]Is it really that big of a spoiler that he curbstomps the aliens at every turn though?[/sp] Sorry, :goodjob: me!
Is it really that big of a spoiler that he curbstomps the aliens at every turn though?
Who are we to decide, what is and isnt an acceptable spoiler, it's just a heads up.
[sp]Is it really that big of a spoiler that he curbstomps the aliens at every turn though?[/sp]
Yeah, it is. He's definitely had missions where he's had a lot of trouble before, and barely made it out. I didn't want to know in advance. Thanks for spoiling it though, you're a real upstanding guy.
The first two minutes of the full video he used for the montage were golden though
Playing through enemy unknown and loving it, just wondering if slingshot pack and enemy within are worth getting?
Bout to fire up XCOM 2. I want to do Ironman my first play through so what is a good difficulty? I know in XCOM EU one difficulty was a faceroll and the other was painful.
Playing through enemy unknown and loving it, just wondering if slingshot pack and enemy within are worth getting?
Enemy Within, A whole new faction to fight with their own troops and mission set, you get the choice to make mec troopers out of your personnel or make them supersoldiers (or neither it's not forced), couple of new aliens and a bunch of new maps one of them being a base defense missions. In all, it's great. Slingshot, you get a unique charecter added to your roster and a set of 3 story missions on their own unique maps. The charecter is cool and the missions are fine, If you got a spare bit of change lying around and you want more Xcom in your life then yeah it's probably worth it. But just be warned that Slingshot gives you access to thing earlier than you should get them in the game, it's not a major game breaker through, especially as the missions are pretty hard for new comers. You should get used to the new gameplay elements and items before, IMO.
You really shouldn't play on Ironman during your first playthrough. That's just tedious. [editline]10th December 2016[/editline] Oh unless you beat EU on normal or classic, then by all means go for normal ironman. Better to lose a run or two before beating it, but getting the actual experience of winning legit than to tediously load saves every time one of your good soldiers dies. That just encourages throwing your whole team out there without being careful at all, it doesn't teach you how to properly play the game.
Install Long War and No Avatar Project = Infinite suffering.
i cant find either of these
i cant find either of these
Then you're either incapable of navigating a search engine or you're a filthy ADVENT traitor. How good is the Vengeance GTS perk? Is it possible that there could be a viable strat where you just send out a suicide bomber grenadier squaddie for free buffs along with a high-will team? Rookies are cheep and class training is fast. [editline]11th December 2016[/editline] Combine it with Stay With Me and you can even reuse your meatshields
So I just learned the hard way that even if I toggle off the alien king dlc they can still show up on missions. The viper prick showed up and proceded to savage my squad and left me with a single turn to hack the mcguffin...
Then your game is broken because if the DLC is turned off when you start a new playthrough the Alien Rulers should not appear at all.
Then your game is broken because if the DLC is turned off when you start a new playthrough the Alien Rulers should not appear at all.
Actually, the only way to stop Alien Rulers is to avoid the Viper Cave mission or uninstall the DLC entirely, disabling it in-game just skips the missions while keeping all the content.
I've had it disabled during two separate playthroughs and the only content from the AR DLC I've been able to access has been the fuck-ugly hunter's lodge and the weapons/gear. They've never showed up for me.
