ninja'd guess I'll post info -New friendly factions that you can win the trust of, each with different traits -3 new recurring enemies: The "Chosen": One focused on stealth, one on long range and one on Psyonics. They adapt their tactics to your playstyle somehow (missed parts of the explanation due to buffering) -At least one new biome: old cities. They will contain the "lost". essentially zombies that spawn endlessly and in hordes and fight everyone. -New classes, weapons and items (probably linked to the new factions) -Release is August 29 that's all I could extract from the interview.
Here's a lot more info from a reddit post:
ADVENT, in its bid to recapture the Commander, responds by deploying a deadly new enemy force called the “Chosen.” The expansion also includes other new enemies, missions, environments and increased depth in strategic gameplay. Here is a list of XCOM 2: War of the Chosen’s key features: NEW FACTIONS & HERO CLASSES Three additional factions have emerged to strengthen Earth's resistance – the Reapers, Skirmishers and Templars – each with its own unique abilities and contrasting philosophies. These factions provide powerful hero class soldiers to aid in missions and new opportunities for the strategy layer. THE CHOSEN The Chosen are the most cunning enemies XCOM has ever faced, each with unique strengths and weaknesses that will be introduced with each new campaign. The Chosen are on the hunt for the Commander and will kidnap, interrogate, and kill XCOM’s soldiers to complete their objective. The Chosen can also invade the strategy layer and ravage XCOM’s global operations. Find and raid the Chosen’s strongholds to defeat the enemy for good. NEW ALIEN & ADVENT THREATS A deadly new alien known as the Spectre, capable of creating dark copies of XCOM soldiers, has snuck onto the battlefield. Adopt new tactics to counter it as well as the explosive attacks of the ADVENT Purifier and the psionically charged ADVENT Priest. NEW ENVIRONMENTS AND MISSION OBJECTIVES Engage in tactical missions across new environments from abandoned cities devastated by alien bioweapons during the original invasion, to underground tunnels and xenoformed wilderness regions. ENHANCED STRATEGY LAYER Manage XCOM’s relations with factions and counter The Chosen’s operations from the Avenger. Employ new Resistance Orders to prioritize your personal strategy. Soldiers, scientists, and engineers can now be deployed for Covert Actions that award supplies and boost faction favor if successfully completed. GREATER CUSTOMIZATION & REPLAYABILITY Soldiers can develop bonds with compatible teammates for new abilities and perks. The SITREP system dynamically adds new modifiers to the tactical layer to make sure every mission provides a unique challenge. Advanced campaign options allow for finer adjustments to game length and difficulty. CHALLENGE MODE Utilize the perfect strategy in new regular one-shot community challenges to claim the top spot on the global leaderboard. SHARE THE RESISTANCE Customize and pose your soldiers, then add filters, text and backgrounds to generate your own unique resistance posters that appear in-game and can be shared with friends. I'm not saying that it's a definite fact, but I'm kinda cautious about it. [sp]I'm really hoping that it is as modder friendly as the base game, but I'm not holding my breath[/sp].

A sneak peek of the achievements in the expansion: Spoliers: http://i.imgur.com/3u3FxPt.png [editline]12th June 2017[/editline] Game mechanics spoiler, just in case: [sp]From the looks of it, they've added Squad Cohesion and Fatigue mechanics[/sp]
i should be hyped for the expansion but it looks a bit of a mess
Thank god
Someone should ask Solomon if it's possible to use assets from the expansion for custom X2 mods.
Oh good, SPARKS sucked before.
I'm not gonna lie. I'm super excited to be able to make my own posters.
Soldiers can develop bonds with compatible teammates for new abilities and perks.
Waifu-com is a go, boys. Rev up them self-insert characters :v:
Our official announcement regarding the XCOM 2 expansion and whether Long War 2 and our other mods will be updated to support it is that we have nothing to announce at this time. When there's something to provide we'll be sure and post here. Sorry we don't have anything more right now.
http://www.pavonisinteractive.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=26267
I've got to say I love the designs for the [sp]avatars. Their crazy white hair, full body jumpsuits, and big masks are just so goofy, I love it.[/sp]
Not gonna lie I'm not sure I'm feeling it. [sp]The Chosen feel like Alien Hunters 2.0, and I didn't really like that DLC. I also think their designs are kinda ridiculous, and voiced dialogue?[/sp] Everything else seems pretty ok though, I'll have to see what really happens with it.
They mention the three rogue factions all hate each other, I wonder if you'll be limited to one partnership per playthrough? So you'd have to pick which bonus and hero you want out of the three.
Jakes currently on main stream https://www.twitch.tv/twitch

Other than that, I don't know if you have to choose one hero or bonus.
Also hopefully the challenge mode will lead to an instant action mode.
Funny story about Challenge mode, it's already in the base game, but it's not unlocked.
I hope they bring some optimizations to the game, because it has very inconsistent performance
Chosen do not behave like alien rules confirmed.
Alien Rulers also getting redesigned. Jakes fixing his game, hard. [editline]13th June 2017[/editline]
-Project Ozzie was code name -Nolan North voices the Chosen Hunter -Aim was to make game even bigger -Twice as long as EW (maybe) -Hero classes have more abilities, earn them in new ways -Skirmisher is confirmed for ADVENT defectors -Skirmishers have grapple hooks that can target enemies -Skirmishers have lots of actions per turn -Chosen change appearance as they level up -Chosen compete against each other for most the game -Elders told Chosen whoever beats XCOM gets Earth -Chosen work like normal enemies, Rulers got revamped for the expansion -Some new cosmetics -Training Center allows you to add new abilities to core game soldiers -Ability Points are earned from squad actions (flanking, getting high ground) -Challenge mode has pop ups telling you how other players did in each challenge -Challenge mode has replays of other people's runs
I wonder if the DLC will necessitate amending the ending.
Honestly I played XCOM2 to death so much that I thought there was no possible way they could make revisiting it sound exciting at a practical level, but wow I really like the promise of the new expansion I was hoping any new addon would expand on resistance movements outside XCOM and its great we're getting some sort of dynamic for winning them over in exchange for rewards. I'm a little concerned about the Chosen system in that I didn't particularly like the idea of Rulers from the moment I read about them, because the last thing I wanted was some early game high level enemy to curbstomp my A-team in an ironman run, so I never actually picked up that DLC, especially once I heard about how they worked, but I feel more comfortable with Chosen if its just the case that they work like normal enemies and gradually get more deadly, rather than start out being extremely tough. The narrative building stuff around kidnapping, interrogating soldiers, soldiers becoming buddies and getting bonuses for it, etc sounds fantastic.

Everything on that list

:hypeisreal:
Anyone still think the expansion will be as moddable, I'm hearing rumors it is less moddable.
Anyone still think the expansion will be as moddable, I'm hearing rumors it is less moddable.
I say that it might be less to not moddable at all if you take into account the previous DLCs that were released. You couldn't use the assets from the DLC at all, but you could still use the code from it. I wouldn't be surprised if we don't have access to any of the expansion content. Code-wise, I think we'll be okay (although the guys maintaining the Community Highlander will probably quit if they have to maintain two versions of the Highlander).
Maybe modders will get more access once the game is properly finished, so that when Firaxis are done making changes they'll make the lot available?
Huge info dump by IGN http://uk.ign.com/articles/2017/06/14/e3-2017-extensive-details-on-xcom-2-war-of-the-chosen
Well, its sounding like Jake actually fixed his game.
The system makes your soldiers more effective and realises the sort of battlefield dramas XCOM players have been crafting for years. I know what you're thinking, are these soldiers just friends, or something more? "It's up to players to decide what a bond represents" says Jake Solomon, diplomatically.
