Actually the new skyranger is an old skyranger prototype they had in a barn somewhere
I still want to visit the old XCOM HQ and just scour the ruins looking for loot.
There was a WOTC stream with Jake the other day.
The Warlock crashed the game as he spawned twice, ending the stream.

apparently it was an older build as the bug that caused it has already been fixed.
But this isn't the same skyranger as the one they were using before. They stole/repurposed the new one from Advent. I always assumed that the gear and research just had to be left behind because the base was getting raided by the aliens. They didn't really recover much of anything from the original XCOM project.
Vahlen took a team with the original Skyranger to start her own secret dominatrix dungeon leading to the whole Alien rulers thing, hence the 2 of them comment.

Hah, that's pretty cool, I may have a future in QA. I noticed right away that it happened when the Vipers were trying to bind XCOM troops.
So I'm not sure if this is the place to post it, but it seems semi-appropriate because Beagle is very well-known (to say in the least) in the XCOM community, but he finally spoke about why he left ShackTac and um...if what Beagle says is true, then it's really not good. I'm not going to post the entire thing here, but here's some bits of it.

I should add, that whilst I have no horse in this race, this entire thing is coming out because Dyslecxi apparently tried to hire some dude to get dirt on Beagle and the guy instead went and showed Beagle the convo logs.

if you're referring to that screenshot beagle posted on his twitter i think you've taken some liberties in its interpretation

I think it was actually Morgan who did that, not Dslyecxi.
am i crazy or are the stock faces in x2 just hideous for the most part
Some of them are certainly faces only a mother would love, but a number of them aren't what I would call hideous.

The last Chosen trailer is here: The Hunter!
He looks like a real sonuvabitch. Interestingly, it seems like he'll be tricky to 'keep dead'. Other than that, he just seems like a standard grapplin', snipin', gunslinger.
I find it pretty funny that he's using "I die like all the fuckin time lol I'm actually kinda shit at living" as a threat :v:

I'm half expecting memes to be generated of the other Chosen sighing as Hunter dies for the twelfth time this morning trying to pour himself EthereOs™ breakfast cereal.
Im thinking about doing a LW2 playthrough, reading through mod's Workshop page I feel like I need to play on easiest setting possible. I've done about three full XCOM2 playthroughs so I kinda know what's up but I'm not great at it, and I will for sure have a buttload of mods installed. Any tips/tricks/reasons not to go for it because it's suicidal?

LW2 isn't much harder than vanilla, at least not on Veteran. The bulk of the extra difficulty comes from (mis)playing the strategy layer and not knowing the new options in tactical.

"You know, I gave that command a REALLY long thought, and then decided - naaah, fuck this other guy"
im starting to enjoy XCOM 2 a lot more now but those kinds of bugs like killing the wrong target like what the fuck?? I don't ever remember having that problem in EU/EW. Like that's a pretty big bug if i chose to shoot this target and the game decides to just completely shoot something else. Also random pauses everywhere even when I installed the mod that stops them.

If you ever played original XCOM aka UFO Defence you would be a lot more prepared for something else than you intended getting shot [sp]ideally with a rocket launcher[/sp]
I've experienced a bug like that before, where I select one target but it shows me the information for an entirely separate target, and if I go through with the attack I'll shoot someone I wasn't intending on shooting. I've found that an easy fix is to back out of the targeting, select another soldier, and then go back to the original soldier.

Long War 2 is actually so refreshing for XCOM2. I like that overhaul, so much complexity, and it's(so far) fun!

It is a good overhaul, it just starts to grind in the late-game (much like the original Long War) from the sheer amount of missions you're doing.

I'd be chuffed to bits if Pavonis released a mod that was just the Tactical changes from LW2. The improved AI, mission variety, graze band, less of a reliance on alpha-striking, it's all good stuff. The obtuse and obfuscated Strategy layer killed it for me though.

I like that we get a couple new classes, technically the technical. I think most missions I do I have atleast one of them for the sheer fact that if enemies bunch I can rocket or flame thrower them.
in long war 1 even seeing the word rocketeer meant a trip to the liquor cabinet

I know it would be a lot of effort to implement, but I would really appreciate for an option for the mundane missions to "auto resolve" with a good deal of probability it will go some kind of okay, with some wounded soldiers being a likely outcome (but not people dying there regularly) and maybe occasionally them calling an abort.
Heck, it would be nice if you threw the dice and the worst case scenario would be "okay, we fucked up, requesting further guidance" and you getting a tac mission with a fast-forward to things already having gone tits up, soldiers wounded, position blown, etc.
I would gladly accept the strategic question of "if I send my best leader there, it will probably be alright without my oversight and I can micromanage the rookies in the other mission myself".
Alternatively I would love to multiplay with a group of friends, each receiving their own missions. for the overall progress being significantly sped up for it.
I've found a good resource on Injustice 1 and 2 models, I'm gonna try and get back into modelling and rigging. I've been itching to get proper superhero/villain props for a while.
