• XCOM V5: Grazed shots still count as hits

I can't tell if XCOM: Enemy Within is genuinely more difficult or if I've suddenly developed a brain tumor, but EW is kicking my ass. In Enemy Unknown I was able to make it surprisingly far before RNGesus combined with my ineptitude basically doomed my playthrough. Enemy Within on the other hand genuinely has me struggling to get through the first few missions, with the gray assholes known as Sectoids suddenly concentrating fire on soldiers like I've been trying to do. Also, it seems like EW screwed something up with the environment's destruction. EU had it so that only lasers and plasma weapons could destroy cover and such, but here I'm having my Heavies take out entire brick walls with a missed stock MG spray.
i don't think EW had any major effects/implications in EU content or ai behavior [editline]29th July 2017[/editline] could be wrong though
EW changed what could destroy cover and how much damage had to be inflicted to destroy the cover. So Snipers and Heavies can destroy cover a lot more easily than in EU with base weapons.
[del]Yeh, I seem to remember MG fire destroying walls and whatnot in EU as well.[/del] Oop, guess not.
Know what I really miss from XCOM: EW? The MEC rocket punch. I know SPARKS can do it, but it just lacks the sheer badassery of the original. Hell, in EW, you could rip sectoids out of their mecs, punch mecless sectoids through cars, and even fist sectopods where the sun don't shine - with explosive results! SPARKs just kind of hit people and then they fall over... sometimes.

They're more like bipedal SHIVs than MECs.

Oh that is the sickest shit! Thank you so much for that! I'm going shove so much metal into so much face into so much more metal.
I don't know if anyone is a Modern Warfare 2 fan, but I released Ghost's Balaclava + Headgear Set for soldiers a couple of hours ago. It works with all genders and all faces: [T]https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/843715183605958567/E29B4C04589D771B0C15E707DB7F5C150854C47B/[/T][T]https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/843715183605957726/65B16D663832BB3EA98DEFD807F0C6F345A2AA95/[/T] http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1095730053

i hope the expansion doesn't break mods too hard, i'd die if some mods are busted and never get fixed lookin at you ninja, haven't even used the vanilla armors since BDUs hit the WS

just finished XCOM 2, definitely felt so easy by the end. idk, i still kinda like EU/EW more, it had less UI bugs and felt a lot more polished. I like the setting and story a lot more from the first. But still pretty good. Im still very bothered that after a year, there's some really irritating bugs that I don't know how it hasn't been fixed. One the annoyed me the most are the "Make Armor/utility Available Buttons" not working properly. It would kind of work but instead it shows ALL of my armor but then it doesnt remove it from the current squad. But it removes utility items if i use the utility button. I kept having my medic have only one medkit because of that bug. :/ And the menus in general just felt more sluggish compared to the first game.

Anything that effects gameplay, maps or enemy units (that aren't just model/texture swaps) will almost certainly break.

Thanks for the kind words everyone! If you haven't look at the workshop lately, I released the Fallout Riot Gear Armors Remastered and Power Armors a while back: [T]https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/829076236041044284/AB96B3395221B81AD84DFBE27F96543C6D8E45FE/[/T][T]https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/829076236041036418/D6DB344BAEA17FC526025DD94C1ACD2FAE0834B3/[/T][T]https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/829076236041037856/A198C88F756C987954CFEF3741B75FD627485F81/[/T] http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=961800020 [T]https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/843712359187722878/2F07ACF8EB9978525AFD859C951E6C45970EDBB9/[/T][T]https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/843712359187718085/5A08A51B78A707353FAA5877E0203324F4EB5C96/[/T][T]https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/843712565012076371/48343CCB4DD44F072AE9DECD803198D5010FA9DB/[/T] http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=959829692
You know what I miss about MECs, why I liked them way more than SPARKs?, The cyborg pilot. Luckily someone has made a mod so that the MEC trooper prosthetic limbs are available as customisation items in XCOM2, but I still loved that idea of a solider sacrificing a good chunk of their humanity to become a massive mechanical badass.
Heres a mod that allows prosthetics for your troops. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1079953981
Yeah this is the one I meant, I like this one best because having the prosthetic limbs ported directly from another XCOM game means they don't look out of place.

[editline]1st August 2017[/editline] that'd be wicked sick honestly

Do zombifying alien green mist containers count as "use of tobacco" to ESRB now
Do zombifying alien green mist containers count as "use of tobacco" to ESRB now
No, that was already in the vanilla game! It's the cigarette and cigar in the character creator.
Oh, I thought these warning cards were only about things that were in the trailer specifically
Do zombifying alien green mist containers count as "use of tobacco" to ESRB now
That's because the green mist is actually aerosolized marijuana and the lost are just sufferers of the Reefer Madness.
The bit I'm curious about is; do the Lost go towards explosion locations, or the person who fired the explosion? Using explosion bait with grenade launchers, or claymores on cars sounds like it could be a cool mechanic of risk/reward, moreso than just "explosions kill them but summon more!"
The bit I'm curious about is; do the Lost go towards explosion locations, or the person who fired the explosion? I'd hope. It'd be awesome to set up your squad on some rooftops, throw a grenade down, and just mow them down as they come.
Or throw a grenade into an advent pod and watch as the last remaining soldier gets torn apart while you watch.
So have a Ranger with Bladestorm on every Lost mission for ezpz win?
