So have a Ranger with Bladestorm on every Lost mission for ezpz win?
Until they miss.
Or a high hp one shrugs it off.
Or the devs anticipate wise guys like you and nerf Bladestorm to only work a number of times a round or something.
My RNG is fucked and my ranger with Bladestorm has yet to land a Bladestorm hit, so that probably won't work for me.

Anyone else notice he used the exact words Vahlen used about using explosives?
So, I was looking at the Skirmisher video, and around 0:57 there is an extended menu. Has that been announced as well?
Also, what alien species are Chosen anyway? They don't look like outsiders.

I believe they're some genetic cocktail between humans and the Elders themselves.
Getting back into modding various things, I'm now trying to mod in DC Legends(mobile game) models of some characters into the game, while simultaneously trying to rip models from Injustice 2(mobile) and do the same. First test round has shown me that my computer is not powerful enough to judge whether or not I correctly applied textures on this helmet...

I'm running the game on lowest settings :v:

So I'm nearing the end of my XCOM: Enemy Within playthrough, and decided to give the final mission a go despite having no idea whatsoever what I'm doing. I managed to mind control a Heavy Floater and used launch to send him all the way over to the end of the map.
Something tells me I wasn't supposed to do that, and that something was the fact that the game had crashed as soon as my turn had ended.
Don't be like me, especially if you haven't saved in a while.

The final room seems to be really buggy for some reason. I've had a myriad of crashes in that room, mostly in Long War but I remember the cutscenes crashing the base game as well.

Tell me about it. I had to try twice to beat the game. The first time went as swimmingly as you could get with two Sectopods bombing the shit out of you (enemy within so literally everything=tickle bullets) and I got to the final chamber. The game promptly froze indefinitely on "alien activity" when a Muton Elite spawned in completely invisible and I had to alt+f4 to get out.
After that, I grabbed the finger of God himself, AKA a Squadsight Sniper and it went significantly better. This time no freezing.
Got some nice "That's XCOM, baby!" moments from my latest playthrough of 2 again.
First is some Operation: Gatecrasher ones cause, wow, that mission still sucks. Soldiers getting crit behind full cover by Captains, missing two 85% flanking shots and getting revealed by one random civilian who was behind a magical LoS-blocking lamppost is just standard fare.
Later on, after a stray mag rifle shot popped a gas line in a car, a sectoid then panics one of my soldiers... who then runs and hunkers behind said burning car. That went about as well as expected.
Also, shout out to Long War Alien pack and having to fight a pod of Mutons (including a centurion) on high ground with high cover, and poison spamming sidewinders.
Also, next playthrough I do will be as close to vanilla as possible because having to wait nearly 2-3 minutes for loading is a draaaag and nearly 4 months in with no grenadiers thanks to different class addons.

The entire final level is buggy, it destroyed my iron man run, got all that way just for my strongest guy to get stuck in the wall :surrender:
Even when playing Ironman, It's a good plan to keep a backup before going on the final mission.

When things like that happen I sometimes hit alt+F4 before the autosave kicks in, though I suppose that borders on savescumming.

First attempt at body rigging, not ideal, but I'm definitely planning on doing more. I already have Doctor Fate fully rigged but I did it incorrectly and some bones are misaligned, gotta redo the whole thing, but ideally I want to port over as many cool skins as I can from Injustice 2 mobile in near future.
I know that Call of Duty: Ghosts was a shit title, but it's good for cosmetics for this game!
Here's the Ghosts' balaclavas:

Huh, they look surprisingly good for a mobile game. I guess it's partially the lightning and whatnot, but when you add in the fact that in XCOM most of the time you see you troops from high above I don't think they are going to stand out at all.

I want my troopers to have pets and such. Reduces their stress levels after fighting or can provide help in the field. So I can have some Canadian dude who has a pet bear to smash stuff up for him. Or like, a Weasel with small sensor pod attached, who works as a randomized Fog of War reveal around the owner.
X-Com 2 needs more dumb stuff like that, because the beauty of it all, is that it can make it work.

I was very surprised too, but in fact the mobile game has assets that are never used and are straight from consoles, mainly the intro animations and effects for characters. The models are high quality, higher than IJ1, probably because both games are on Unreal(mobile versions) and the devs chose to go for higher quality visuals on mobile(exactly why it's on Unreal). I have extracted files from DC Legends and been trying of porting over some of that stuff and you can tell it is lower-res. I wish we had means of extracting files from PS4 because I have a disk copy of IJ2 for PS4 and I'd absolutely love to get my hands on all the different gears there are in the game. I would have tried making Darkseid an actual enemy to fight :v:

Look into some new Advent units.
The Purifiers look horrendously annoying, the Priests bring back Mind Meld shinanigans and the Spectres look hella cool. Interested in see what they could potentially add for research.
Purifiers are free grenades
Priest is kill one, get one free.
The spectre looks like the biggest jimmy rustler.
I'm intrigued as to what we'll unlock via the autopsies for those 3.

"Oh new aliens, I can't wait to cut them open!"
I love it.
I'm intrigued as to what we'll unlock via the autopsies for those 3.
Priest is a Stasis Sphere, which is a utility item slot that when the soldier holding it is killed, instead they basically get the Psi ability Sustain proc on them, as I understand it.
Purifier and Spectre? No idea.
Why do the priest psi amp have the exact same shape as the XCOM psi amps? You'd think they'd be totally different since alien/advent tech is completely different to XCOM's even at top-tier plasma rifles.

I'm fine with it looking like XCOM jacked some Advent tech. It still bothers me the tier 3 gear is more Ayy than the Ayy's gear.

Avatars also use psi amps like that. The Psi Amp isn't really an XCOM invention, seems to be something that Tygan may have borrowed the idea of from his time at ADVENT, considering he worked on the psionic network chips.
