So I just started playing Planescape: Torment for the first time holy fuck this is an amazing game, if you haven't played it I really recommend it and its only like $10 on GoG
Have been playing Master of Orion 2. Oh god what have I missed.
What controller do you guys recommend for MAME?
[t]http://puu.sh/Vseq[/t] BEEPBEEPBEEPBEEPBEEPBEEPBEEPBEEPBEEPBEEPBEEPBEEP I thought Dark Cloud would be fun but so far it's just been really, really irritating. The charge move is basically a "press to fuck up" button because it seems to eat weapon durability like candy, which I'm also having a wonderful time managing because it's really stingy with repair powder. Why the fuck would they make weapons, which encompass the entirety of your progression due to the way the stats work, made out of paper and ready to turn to dust after killing a few bats? I can already imagine getting cursed during a boss fight while I'm out of repair power and my ShitFucker9000 is at 1 durability, being forced to strike an enemy, and POOF there goes my stats. Oh and the thirst meter? Fuck that. They just added that in as an extra annoyance.
Can anyone with a GP2X handheld tell me how they are? I'm thinking about getting a Wiz or a Caanoo to replace the old PSP-3000 I use.
[t]http://puu.sh/Vseq[/t] dark cloud rant
It's like the ultimate fake difficulty mixed with old-school dungeon crawling. The game had great aesthetics and was a good classic in its own right, but no nostalgia can blindingly tell me that the original Dark Cloud's concepts of weapon and thirst were, in any way, fun or not annoying as hell.

I want these devs dead right now. The game apparently wasn't hard enough, so they decided to fuck you over by throwing in floors where they randomly generate more bullshit. "Can't switch weapons, and using a weapon DRAINS ITS EXPERIENCE." Who the fuck came up with this shit? Ok il throw in another tip for my fellow swebros, retrospelbutiken.se has a new policy where they give you a 10kr discount for every good review you write for the site, i tried writing one and it passed on my first try so its not very hard. They have a great selection, altho be ready to pay a hefty price for the more popular titles.
I just remembered that 2 years ago, I sold a guy a copy of Megaman 2 that I had because I believed I was leaving the country. Someone kill me please
Making a mod
Every time I watch this I can't help but be all kinds of impressed. If I weren't playing FFVII on my droid I'd download and install all this HD stuff. Too bad there's no way for it to effect the pre-rendered cutscenes.
Im having trouble with PCX2 trying to emulate Champions of Norrath, I get lots of screen tearing and the audio is really messed up.
So, apparently FF7 got re-released on PC the other day. And it uses a direct3D driver to make all the changes, in almost the same way the user-made OpenGL driver does. In fact, it turns out that all those nifty graphics mods for the world and effects textures and UI aren't even possible because of it - only mods that change models and do gameplay tweaks are. And on top of that, it uses SECUrom :| I'd say the only real improvement is that it has an easy GUI launcher, versus having to edit a config file with the user-made driver, and it has OGG music support, so you no longer need the external program FF7Music to get rid of the horrible midis - except the game ships with MIDIS CONVERTED TO OGG, so if you want the PSX music you have to replace them yourself anyway. And the achievements are terrible. They are "End of Part I", "Braver" and simple shit like that. That's pretty damn stupid. The good news is someone is working on a converter to convert the new game to function like the 1998 release so stuff like this is possible again: The bad news about that, however, is the direct OGG music support is done through the Direct3D driver, so you loose those improvements until the custom OpenGL driver is updated to do the same, as minimal as they may be. I was considering buying it, but since the community made driver is still getting more features and can be tailored to the needs of mods, and the "official" one can't unless you convert the game to be exactly like the original, not much point for me anyway. I suppose it is good for people who want to get a hold of a legitimate PC copy to use mods though. I just can't fucking believe that Square would go as far as to add proper OGG support to the re-release, but then use the original MIDIS converted to OGG, which negates the entire purpose of it. I'm just glad they didn't prevent us from replacing them.
Can anyone with a GP2X handheld tell me how they are? I've got the original Warcraft and Doom and stuff on mine.

Is the analog nub good? Does it have a nice screen? Good battery life?
Installed ScummVM on my android tablet and playing through Broken Sword 1 again, so much nostalgia
Broken Sword is the tits. Im currently writing reviews for discounts on a website, a few more and im getting Wild 9 free that shit was the bomb and i cant wait

Oh god lol. I was looking through old files on my HDD and I found a port of a Dissidia model someone did for FF7 way back. I can't believe the one on the left was considered an improvement looking like that it looked like a poorly designed action figure
They both look pretty silly.

That model clipping. That style. It is a pretty good attempt though.
That's what happens when you attempt to add new models to a game that uses individual pieces for models It's made even harder by the fact that out of battle models are designed for super blocky people, so you have to turn this into this Takes a lot of tweaking and changes to get right, especially when it was designed for a battle situation in the first place
So I've started playing old SNES games because of GameGrumps and I never realize how addictive they are. Sunset Riders with my friends is so much fun, along with TMNT and FInal Fight, I've had a blast with them. [editline]20th August 2012[/editline] What are the best coop games on emulators?
Turtles in Time.
Contra, with no Konami Code
So I decided to play Sim Theme Park for the first time in a decade. [editline]20th August 2012[/editline] It would be so much better if each ride didn't break down every ten minutes.
Turtles in time is rad as fuck
I'm actually replaying Turtles in Time although I'm just trying to find the correct filter for it.
Filter?
