Where have you been getting the games? Usually i find SNES games pretty cheap when i look for them
I think he means the console itself I got a retro duo because I don't have an snes and my nes doesn't really work anymore. If you go for one of them I suggest you try to get a real snes controller, the ones it has are shit
anyone know the best emulator settings for final fantasy tactics for ePSXe 1.7.0?
Where have you been getting the games? Usually i find SNES games pretty cheap when i look for them
No I mean an original snes without that shitty yellow tinted plastic is worth around 50-60 dollars I don't have money so yeah.
I always have epsxe on my laptop, along with Silent Hill, reckon I must have beaten it 7 times now, but like Dues Ex I always come back to it. I recently gave alien resurrection a go again, I own two copies of it for some reason. Great game, terrible controls. It's a shame too because it looks really pretty for a ps1 game. It's always superior to the film.
Chrono Trigger. Oh my god.
Was emulating some Megaman X Collection. Wow, PCSX2 does not like X4-6 very well, a lot of pixels tend to be off-kilter or not aligned right. This is playing on Native resolution with no texture filtering, even; any sort of custom resolution or filtering just turns it into a grid-like mess.
Yay, found a 20"" sony trinitron wega for 10 dollars today. The fucking side speakers on it are amazing and the picture quality is soooo much fucking better than my shitty "trueflat" one that I had. The only thing is that it crackles when I turn it off, I know that is sometimes a bad sign for CRTs but nothing has gone wrong so far. If it does get fucked up there is no goddamn way I am going in there and fixing it, even when turned off CRTs are fucking death machines on the inside.
Chrono Trigger. Oh my god.
The DS remake, or the SNES version? The remake is far superior.
so there aren't ps1 emulators for the mac?
so there aren't ps1 emulators for the mac?
There are, but I haven't fully created the list for Windows, let alone Mac and Linux... it's a work in progress. I'll see to it soon. edit: I know earlier I said I'd get to it, but never ended up getting around to it. I've been a little busy lately with my studies, but don't worry; very soon I'll be free and spend a good three hours just updating the crap out of this list.
SNES games were always so difficult, I can't get past the first level of sunset riders haha
Its fucking annoying how difficult it is to get my PS2 emulator to play the fucking ace combat games.
PS2 Emulation is a pain in the ass in general.
PS2 Emulation is a pain in the ass in general.
depends on the computer you have
Contra, with no Konami Code
Contra III is the best.
Its fucking annoying how difficult it is to get my PS2 emulator to play the fucking ace combat games.
Agreed. I've had little issue with shadow of the colossus and persona 4, but god forbid I try to get the thing to play ace combat 4. The cutscene videos and briefings don't play (Before they added the skip hack in they would just freeze the whole emulator), and there are a bunch of graphical bugs that can currently only be fixed by going into software mode; which makes the game unplayably slow for obvious reasons.
I got GBAdroid or whatever as HM:FoMT. So I sit in front of my computer and all my video games playing a game from 2003 on a 1GHz phone. :v:
Got medievil to run i am going to have the best nostalgia trip!
I'm looking to buy a controller for my PC that will be great for emulating most of the older 16-bit games. I'd happily pay extra for one with thumbsticks that may come in handy for other things, but ideally I want a controller with 6 buttons in a layout that allows me to play both SNES and Megadrive games relatively easily (the buttons should be the same size), and has two triggers (for the SNES). I've looked but all I can find are controllers that are laid out funny or literally just an old megadrive controller.
I found Road Rash for the PS1 in my attic, it was sitting on the floor on the read side. Still in PERFECT condition, what the hell. It's too bad my cheapo NYKO PS2 memcard doesn't work with PS1 games.

Silent Hill Shattered Memories runs smooth on PCSX2, but graphics is all broken and corrupted :( Damn it.
What about a USB N64 controller?
I hated the three handles, I could get one but I'd much rather something different. I'll add it to the list of maybes. [editline]23rd August 2012[/editline]
That's what happens when you attempt to add new models to a game that uses individual pieces for models It's made even harder by the fact that out of battle models are designed for super blocky people, so you have to turn this into this. Takes a lot of tweaking and changes to get right, especially when it was designed for a battle situation in the first place.
What version of the game is the last picture from? I would kill to play that!
What about a USB N64 controller?
I'm actually rather curious about that since I hate using my 360 controller to play N64 games. Do they even make usb n64 controllers? I know they make the adapters for it.
The first alpha is released, if anyone has the game and wants to try it. It should work with the PC re-release just fine as well. http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=13368.0 Hopefully for later releases I'll have an installer

DAMMIT PSCX2, fucking Dark Cloud 2 works but not Ace Combat.
The DS remake, or the SNES version? The remake is far superior.
The Anti-Piracy in the DS Remake was great, endless Time warp animation loop.
Alright guys, I hate to bring a thread back from the grave (i.e like 6-8 pages down the line), but to justify my doing so, I did what I was planning to do; - Added the following to Windows list; PCEngine/TurboGrafx16 MSX Wonderswan Amstrad CPC Oric Vectrex NeoGeo Pocket Game &Watch ZX Spectrum Playstation Portable (see next change) - Revised PSP emulation, it's now part of the Windows list *I also added a compatibility stream to the Useful Links section - Added numerous emulators to Linux and Mac sections - Added the Emulation Subreddit to the Useful Links section - Revised the entire post in order to fix a bunch of the little grammatical, spelling (etc etc you get the point) errors. I also changed a few terms here and there for technical clarification... nothing big. ...and of course, rechecked most the links to make sure they were still valid. I'm still yet to do extensive searching in relation to Arcade machines/videogames... I have a little bit here, but not much Honestly, I'd add download links for the Mac and Linux sections, and lay them out a bit more neatly like the Windows section IF I had demand for it. But I'm sure it isn't a problem for any Mac und Linux users out there :) Enjoy Guys! edit; you guys might notice that the new stuff on the windows list is a bit bare... I'll be slowly remedying that as time goes on edit; and just before I forget, I added the Emulation Subreddit to the useful Links section edit; ANNND I did various grammatical corrections and fixed a few technical terms for clarification
I don't want this thread to die YET
