Dolphin works flawlessly with my 2.4GHz E6600 and 460GTX, 4 GB Ram .
It also depends on the game in question too. I have a 2.66ghz q9400, 460GTX, and 8gb of ram but seemingly no matter what settings I use, Monster Hunter Tri is a max of like 12-14 fps. (Even setting the graphics settings to the highest possible only drops it down to 9-12.) However for the greater majority of games, and decent dual core, decent graphics card (around a GeForce 9800 or higher or so maybe? I dunno for sure), and around 2gb or more of ram should be more than plenty.
There are some performance hacks you need to apply for MH3 if I remember correctly. http://forums.ngemu.com/archive/index.php/t-143317.html
It's been several months but I believe I tried a bunch of speedhacks. I ended up coming to the conlusion that it was more Dolphin than my setup though, I do remember that much for certain. My cpu and gpu usage never got above about 60% and even overclocking my cpu from 2.66ghz to 3.333ghz made absolutely no difference in the game's speed.
Do PS1 and 2 Emulators work better with CD's in the drive rather than an iso or whatever? A lot of my PS1 and 2 games are damaged or scratched and refuse to read. I was wondering if I should purchase a new copy, or get a ISO or whatever they are of them. (Or is that not legal even if I own the game?)
It works just fine either way as far as I'm aware. And it's one of those legal grey areas. Apparently it's technically illegal but no one would actually care.

Some emulators/games will be unbareably slow if you try using the CD/DVD. It's legal to download if you own it already but no one actually cares.
Ah awesome. Okay cheers! I'd assume anyone linking to any sites that they can get said things from is looked down upon, cause I've no idea what the hell I'm looking for.
So the guy i bought FF7 from sent me 2 of the 3 discs and a burnt copy of Final Fantasy Anthology, i cant play that shit
Hey guys, http://www.ngemu.com/152990/epsxe-180-released ePSXe 1.80 got released today. Just to let you guys know
Looking to emulate City Folk or Let's go to the city for the WII, will my hardware configuration be able to properly run it? CPU: Q6600 @ 2,8 GHz GPU: HD6870 RAM: 4GB DDR2 And does anyone know the best settings in Dolphin for this game? Thanks!

Got Grandia II running on my dreamcast emulator. Oh my god I missed this game. One of the best RPGs ever made. Amazing soundtrack and so many feels. This theme in particular for the event it is played at. Manly tears. I remember being stuck at this boss for so long and not wanting to fight him because of the feels. And then this... I fucking love this game. I thought i'd get this thread going again with my latest purchase: [IMG_thumb]http://img.tradera.com/images/529/164274529_13801691-6bae-4857-a0cb-793dc229c491.jpg[/IMG_thumb] Not pictured: actual PAL copy of the game that i can actually play :v:
I am still waiting for an original xbox emulator.
For what games? I cant really recall any really exciting exclusives for the original xbox
Wow this thread needs to some attention. Sadly my GBA shat itself a few months ago so I've been trying to emulate LeafGreen and FireRed on VBALink. I'm having trouble trying to get the whole network thing going. Anyone got some experience on linking the two on the same computer or any decent resources I can read?
Anyone found a decent ColecoVision emulator that doesn't choke? I know I can emulate the Z80 just fine, as I emulate SMS all the damn time (not to mention N64 and such too) So far I've tried Koleko, Bee, ColEm, and a few others that I can't remember the name of. They all were choking on various games. I've tried Donkey Kong, Zaxxon, and Turbo.
I'm sorry to bump this thread without any content, but i want to ask something that may or may not have an answer. November this year, the Xbox 360 will be 9 years old. Would there be any possibility that we have reached to point that the 360 could start to be emulated? It definitely seems like enough time has passed that something could come of it, even if it's for high end systems.
I Googled 360 emulator and this was the first result. I can't verify if it's good or even real. http://xbox360emulator.net/ [editline]20th January 2014[/editline] I am 90% sure it's fake. [editline]20th January 2014[/editline] Hahaha, this was in the readme. The installer tries to make you install about 5 or 6 other things.
Install the Bios in the same PATH as the emulator, Accept all the offers from our sponsors to make sure the installation doesn't fail.
[editline]20th January 2014[/editline] Yeah don't install it, it's a ruse to install adware.

Maybe after the focus shifts completely over to the PS4 and XB1, that's when people will try and start emulating the previous generation. It's been almost a decade with the 360 and I'm a little surprised that no one with some experience hasn't tried yet, unless i haven't noticed.
It's not that they haven't tried, it's just a very difficult engineering feat. PS2 and Dolphin emulator has just recently started to become relatively playable in the past few years, it will still be a long while for the last generation to become playable
Here's your PS3 emulator http://code.google.com/p/rpcs3/ It's an incredible feat of programming currently capable of playing some very simple homebrew and nothing else. Even if it did play commercial games (which is what I assume you want) your PC would not be able to play games full speed, nor would ANY PC be capable of it for many many many years to come.
[editline]20th January 2014[/editline] https://github.com/benvanik/xenia
I've been trying out some older PS2 games of mine on PCSX2, and Yakuza is giving me trouble. I've looked up configs, but about 20 minutes into the game, the screen just went black. No matter what I do to the settings, it won't render video anymore.
We're not going to see 360 emulators any time soon, if ever tbh
We could see them at some point. The real question is whether or not anyone will be interested in making an emulator for it when it's possible.
Just gonna post this here.
:snip:
My friend got an SNES from his aunt so we played a bunch of games, including battletoads & double dragon which i'd never tried before It plays really well compared to some of the other similar games we played on there (like the TMNT game)
Xenia seems to be progressing rather well. 2 games are playable with 1 getting in game.
Sorry for the bump without any content, but does anyone know of a good Nintendo 64 emulator since Project 64 has malware?
Sorry for the bump without any content, but does anyone know of a good Nintendo 64 emulator since Project 64 has malware?
Until Cen64 is at a usable state, Mupen is probably the best alternative.
