Wow, thanks Woovie. Do any of those links contain Warez of any sort... I can move them to the top of the thread and credit you.

No, HyperSpin is free. The issue is each download from their site is 2 minutes between. It's like 10+ downloads for the whole HyperSpin to be up to date. I just packaged it into a friendly, easy download. :)
Edit: And the emulator links are all to the official sites. AFAIK they only provide an emulator, not even BIOS files.

No problem. If I can get someone to confirm the best Linux and OSX emulators, I can table those up too.
I use my wired 360 controller for my emulation, I could never go back to a keyboard.

I was surprised at how well N64 games play with keyboard mapping. I replayed Majora's Mask with keyboard bindings without a single problem.

I play most of my games on the Xbox, I'm less comfortable on a keyboard. That being said, having arrows mapped to Y and bombs bound to B was the best ever!
Playing through MGS3 / Okami right now
Anyone know any way to get past the 30fps limiter or are those hard-coded in the game? It's slightly annoying, imo.

You'll be able to get past it, but there will be all kinds of gameplay issues to do with sound sync and animations sticking together correctly. Then maybe that will take rise to game breaking issues. etc etc.
Emulation is awesome if you don't want to get your old console out for a specific game. I could never get a PS2 emulator running smoothly.
Even more depressing is that there is no real original Xbox emulator.
I actually just got the PS2 emulator set up on my computer a few weeks ago. I played through the first kingdom hearts, and I'm looking forward to playing through KH2 and KH:RE:COM, as well as Shining Force Neo, which I loved but I have never met anyone who played it.

We need an uncommon 'gems' list.

I beat KH1 on the emulator two months ago but I still haven't bothered to finish KH2 on it. I just wish Timesplitters: Future Perfect ran better, but oh well, I'll have to manage with Timesplitters 2.

We should start one!
What is a game you recommend that was underplayed for these systems?
My vote is Shining Force Neo, because even though it had some of the worst voice acting in video games, I still sunk 60+ hours into. There was just a ton of content.
Also having a PS3 controller makes PS1/PS2 emulation so much better.
Shame Rogue Leader apparently doesn't work very well.
None of the Rogue Squadron Game Cube games work.
I re-bought them for my Wii instead of trying to emulate it.
great OP, but you missed sega genesis/megadrive emulators! unthinkable
I recommend gens for this purpose.
while I'm around here, does anyone know how to get jcarts working properly on gens? is there another emulator that has better support for them?

I'll get right to it :)
edit: Updated the thread, added four new systems and some new FAQ things
I have played Haunting Ground with one of PCSX2's svn releases (because the game looked like shit with the stable releases).
It works fine and fast (50-60 fps, though sometimes stuff slow down for a moment) on Hardware mode (minus some graphical glitches, like lack of proper shadows during gameplay and very ugly blur issues, which can be removed though with saving and reloading states) and Software mode, but only if you have a NASA computer.

Software mode, :P what a beautiful thing. Who has a PC like that?
Any tips on running PCSX2 games well? Dolphin games run fine.

Did you use the latest SVN releases instead of the recommended build?
Anyone know how to get Daggerfall running on XP without it being as slow as a child with downs syndrome?
It's cool that PS2 Emulation has actually evolved to a stage where you can actually play games.
It's not perfect, but remember just a short while ago it was completely impossible.
Do you need to have the game disc to play it on the PS2 emulator?
Do you need to have the game disc to play it on the PS2 emulator?
You just need the ISO file.
Do you need to have the game disc to play it on the PS2 emulator?
Heh. Legally, yes.
Of course you wouldn't do such illegal things, but you can play using just the game file.
Software mode, :P what a beautiful thing. Who has a PC like that?
Right, whatever. One of them runs the game smoothly with somewhat more HD textures and decent AA and the other actually shows the panic mode properly, not just some ugly blur and dark effects, but plays the game at 5-15 fps
I remember switching tabs from the gsxblahblah window to other stuff so I can boost the fps, only to get my PC bsod a few moments later :v:
Remember when using Dolphin: Options>Graphics Settings>Enhancements>Internal Resolution>3x Native
Shit looks amazing.
