this feature will never stop being amusing
I noticed when doing the Snatcher's Hit List, enemies become tougher. Mafia are quick to punch you.
egg
I'm missing one type of enemy for the Snatcher's Hit List. So far I got:
Crows
Pushy Crow
Flaming Crow
Mafia Goons
UFO
Sleeping Racoon
Spiders
Exploding Eggs
Cat Thief
Express Owls
Rats
The new purple time rift is fucking sadistic. The sheer amount of shit they expect you to do on one health bar is fucking absurd. I was on it for a good 25 until dying near the end when it shoved me right the fuck back to square one.
If any of you want to do the Hat Kid Smug Dance, press Up-Down-Up-Down on the D-Pad.
This 65 second timer on So You're Back From Outer Space is making me want to kill myself.
I check my Steam downloads and the game wants to download a 2 GB patch after the 3 GB DLC download earlier. Christ I forgot how bad patches for this could be.
You know, I was expecting Death Wish to be hard, but not like this... but I like this punshiment.
Truly A Hat in Time is the Dark Souls of platformers.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA HOLY FUCK I DID IT
Death Wish is a bit of a mixed bag for me. It seems like most of the challenges are Do A Glitched Speedrun with a few unique challenges like the no jump challenges. I'm currently just one hundred percent stuck on the hardmode Train Rush, because it keeps locking me out of doing it again after three deaths.
The 3 tries system is stupid on that level. Train Rush is inherently a speedrun level, the devs decided to add a strict timer to the speedrun level, and you can only try it three times in a row before you need to twiddle your thumbs and wait.
And there's no EZ mode for that challenge. I don't understand why the devs thought this was a good idea.
Ok, these Death Wish Contract are some fucking Kaizo Mario type of bullshit. that only speedrunners can pull.
You have to equip the nobonk badge and dive into the tree right of the well. You'll zip upwards and you can turn left and cancel your dive once you're high enough to get to the top of the well instantly.
Check out the AGDQ 2018 Hat in Time speedrun, they use something similar there.
I was honestly expecting this reference somewhere in the new level.

Was buried in this game at launch. Haven't had as much time to play the DLC though. Chipping away at it and loving it so far.
quick question - is anyone else getting 1-2 gb updates from time to time? i just got the game yesterday but i've already had 3 updates this size, idk if it has to do with the dlc or if it's an issue on my end?
It's normal...ish. Reason why this happen is that they are updating the game. But from what I understand the core of the game is packed in a single file. So when they update the game they have this huge file size in each update because that one core file is like 2~ gb.
Doesn't matter if the changes to said file is small or huge. Update is gonna be 2~ gb.
At least that's what I think is happening, since there was another game on steam with a similar problem.
Does anyone have some kind of guidefor the subcon forest coins? There is one really far from any platform and have no idea how to get it.ç
Also, Death Wish really makes yourself want to die, thankfully they added an easy mode
who got the lowest jumps on she came from outer space? My best is 11
11 for me, but I'm gonna try getting the 7 Jump mission. IT was pretty cool that you can use the Ice Hat to act as psuedo-jump, also Ice Jump into dive really helps climb wall if you have the No Bonk badge equipped.
I agree completely.

I can manage it in 5 jumps. There's a post about it on the Steam Discussion board I wrote the tricks down on.
She Came from Outerspace
Yeah okay I give up on this DLC. I'm down for a decent challenge but jesus I'm not a fucking masochist. I just want to get to the boss rematches but I can only handle so many dozens of deaths trying to get to the end of the train rush.
Just be glad they removed the 3 lives limit from the train rush level. And yeah, they added Peace and Tranquility to that level finally so there's no shame in enabling that.
dude i understand completely. i wont be able to do a lot of these. theres an option to make it easier, you'll just have to do that at least until you get to the boss rematches.
Don't use Peace and Tranquility on wound up windmill, nothing seems to change with it.
definitely try the official Hat in Time Discord. There's a "support-and-bugs" channel.
I can understand the reason behind the brutal difficulty in the Death Wish challenges (I'll have to see what the difficulty curve is like further on), but I can't think of any reason for the completely arbitrary 5 minute wait after three lives. Do they expect me to just run around in circles for a few minutes, or did they forget to finish this feature and also add the microtransaction that skips the waiting?
As for the new chapter, I found it enough, what with getting to see the characters again and getting to explore this intricate ship. The first act is fun in the same way most other acts in the game are: they mix exploration, platforming challenges (not that hard, but still) and fun characters. The second act on the other hand blows, mixing RNG, unreliable path finding and difficulty that does not feel fun to overcome; I felt like I got lucky when I finished it. The third act is not as bad, but it does end the chapter on a sour note, what with the annoying camera angles and an uninteresting objective to top off the chapter; a new boss would have been nice.
4€ seems a bit high if you're buying this only for the new chapter; Death Wish seems to have a far smaller target audience compared to the base game, if the difficulty cliff and the comments I've read are anything to go by. There's Peace and Tranquility though, so maybe the latter isn't such a big issue.
That said, the DLC makes me appreciate how fine-tuned the original game is, even if it lacks challenge at times.
I actually agree. I do feel like the DLC lacks a bit of polish, and 2/3 of the non-Time Rift missions in Arctic Cruise are glorified "bring items from Point A to Point B" which is a bit jarring compared to the huge variety of missions the base game has. It's still a lot of fun, and I honestly found myself emotionally invested in the ship after seeing the story behind it via Time Rift pages. It gives a whole new meaning to why the captain is such a sourpuss, and why he wanted to go down with his ship.
link it please
