Remember the Roach King easter egg where you find notes on the ship giving you clues until you find his secret gold under the staircase in the attic? The final section of that Time Rift is in the same attic, but instead of the easter egg there this weird "thing".
I think there's some kind of ARG going on right now. Sometime after Nyakuza Metro came out, this got uploaded on one of the hidden "official" youtube channels.

and that level and some others are made by one of the devs, so tehre's like an expanded lore outside the game.
Most of the Roach King pictures were tied to a joke ARG that the devs were doing.
Levels like White Forest Tower are paying homage to that old ARG. Most of the levels made by Habboi are related to it in some way. I don’t believe these Easter eggs are tied to any greater plot
I’m not sure if that Rift Easter egg is tied to the original ARG or this new one with the creepy doll. Cause this robot/doll thing is either a teaser for something, or is just another joke.
Habboi is just a madman who likes a good joke as well as lore. Most of this stuff I would assume is just for fun, and is usually aimed towards a smaller group of core modders of the game that he interacts with sometimes.
He also makes the best asset names.

Pretty cool mod. The regular fight is easy but the Death Wish version is actually very challenging.

I'm so glad they added online just seeing a bunch of hat kids mess with each other while smug dancing from a distance is so entertaining. This game is the TF2 of platformers now.
I hope they go even further with the online co-op aspect, and add all sorts of dlc and scripting/modding capabilities.
Stuff like high-fives, new taunts and animations, mini-games. New levels meant to be completed with a horde of hat kids, etc.
