For me, I tend to have frame drops in a very certain part of Mafia Town, [sp]during the credits style end sequence after most acts in Chapter 2[/sp], and most areas in Alpine Skyline with transitions being particularly bad. I've tried changing a lot of settings, but have had no luck.
Not really enough to ruin the experience, but still a bit annoying.
Im running the game on a GPD win, so im surprised people are having issuses running it. Try turning vsync off.

Vsync is off. I always turn it off. Again, the performance hiccups rarely take away from the experience, so I don't really mind it.
I'm also assuming it's something that will probably be sorted out eventually, as I'm sure Gears are probably getting all sorts of reports, not to mention currently optimizing the game for a console release.
What the game lacks in optimization, it makes up for in spades in everything else.
Any idea if the GoG version will have mod support too? And if so how will they be distributed seeing as how convinient steam workshop is.

I would assume the modding tools would work just fine with the GOG version. How it'll be distributed we have no idea, or even if it will be.
As for mod distribution, there's no such system in GOG, but I'm sure there will probably be something like a Nexus page for Hat in Time mods.
I really want those chapter title cards as wallpapers.

It might be something similar to what TF2 does, so you just go to the game's folder and drop it in a "mods" folder or something.

That's exactly how it works in UE3/UE4 games. There's usually a dedicated "mods" folder that you just drop .pak files into, and it loads them when starting the game.
As such, a Hat in Time Nexus page is practically a no brainer, and will be a great alternative to the Steam Workshop, especially for those with the GOG version.

Aight. So, theres this civilization/religion/group (Hat Kid's?) Called the [B]Keepers[/B] (probably of time) who worship these "[B]Founders[/B]" blokes, and there's this one dude, [B]Cavum,[/B] who assigns this [B]Master Tempus[/B] guy (Don't think its his real name, but a title) an apprentice, [B]Lady Puella[/B] (Hat Kid?)
Looks like at some point the Founders start freaking the fuck out 'cause the timeline's in danger/"dying", or whatever and they might bail, and now there's these baddies (or are they just unfortunate victims, there's a lotta light v dark imagery but, y'know, perspective matters), [B]Shadows[/B]. While everyone's killing all these shadow...things...Tempus (alongside Puella) find a child Shadow, who he greets without hostility and names [B]Cavus.[/B] Tempus takes him under his wing as a second student (maybe Cavus is the coop partner?)
So the civilization take a [B]'Sun Piece'[/B] from the shadows and assume they've un-fucked the timeline. Master Tempus shows his students around the [B]Dream World[/B], which is literally a world of other people's dreams. Apparently if you look into a dead person's dream, it fucks you up good and you get lost in 'the void'.
Then Master Tempus dies, and, as Puella is his student, she becomes the new Master Tempus, and must walk the 'path of cleansing'. It's discovered that Cavus killed the Master.
Then I guess the Founders never fulfilled whatever prophecies the Keepers had assumed, or whatever, could just be a crazy guy, god knows.

While she controls exactly like Hat Kid, she has her own voice set for her moves and whatnot.
Although I do vaguely remember Mustache girl being a co-op partner at one point.
I don't know how they would handle the stages where you interact with MG if she was available as a coop partner

At best, Mustache Girl could maybe be playable via New Game+. I don't see it happening for co-op, considering she's your nemesis and all.
New Game+ also seems sort of plausible given the lines she has that aren't currently used. They paint her as "being the star" in a sense, as well as they have the category "NuMission" in the localization strings.
Could just be from a scrapped idea though.
