Speaking of options, I do hope they add a Deph of Field option, whether that is the ability to adjust it or only turn it on or off. The depth of field wasn’t that big of a deal to me when I played through the first time, but going around and really exploring everything makes me want to admire the backgrounds more. The lack of this option I could see someone taking a point off for. This is really appereant in the time rifts. With the depth of field you can barely see [sp]the whale, the clock towers and cities or the beautiful watery ceiling.[/sp]
I decided to try giving that 'falling into Alpine Skyline' glitch a second try, and took a couple pictures when it happened. What you do is you unequip the grapple badge while you're ziplining up to Alpine Skyline. And when you finally void out, you get to walk all the way up the cliff to the graveyard and zipline again.
So... [sp]the prince whom Vaness killed.. that's totally Snatcher, right? Because the page you find in the Time Rift, where the prince is chained up in a dungeon, looks an awful lot like Snatcher.[/sp]
Oh, I was going to respond to this. Yes it's true.[sp]The Snatcher is the Prince, more evidence that this is true is that the Prince was studying law, which the Snatcher is obsessed with doing contracts[/sp]
In case anyone wasn't aware. The Workshop is now up, however it is only in beta thus you need to opt into the modding support beta in your properties.
Also, the option to turn VA off is there, but it's on by default. You don't review a game based on options, you review based on the intended way to play which is the defaults.
Will have to disagree on that. It's same as games having subtitles turned off by default and i hate that but if you have the option to turn them on i'm ok and my judgement doesn't fall down. More good options you have, the better. It also means the devs know that there are some that might want another view\experience of the game.
These items are pretty cool! Lilac's headpiece is super OP for speedrunning probably, assuming it'll be legal. Gaz's hat just seems kinda.. an alternative of the Swift Hat?
These items are pretty cool! Lilac's headpiece is super OP for speedrunning probably, assuming it'll be legal.
Those mods are official. The developers said in one of their posts (I can't find it the exact post but I did read it) that Freedom Planet and Psychonauts will be one of the official mods when the game launched. If you look at who created it and posted it, it's MeowkuCube!! which is Jonas himself, so you know it's legit. But holy shit, the Lilac one is ridiculous overpowered. It gives you a fifth jump.
I know it's official lol. I just don't know if the speedrunning community will use them.
I know it's official lol. I just don't know if the speedrunning community will use them.
Sure, for special category or donation-incentive speedruns. Any regular speedrun will most likely ban it. [editline]11th October 2017[/editline] Ohhhhhhhh, I'm a fucking idiot. I was wondering why The Freedom Dye color was so familiar, it's supposed to be Lilac from Freedom Planet 2. Devs has also confirmed on discord that the Editor should be coming out tonight.
Finished the game, got all the Time Pieces. This is easily one of the best games I've ever played. My only complaint is how short it is, but we have the free updates to look forward to for that. Can't wait!
Is the game crashing on the Mafia boss in act 4 a known issue or am I just getting shit luck again. Both times I've tried to do that fight it crashes after his ultra charge moves.

I saw a review of a guy who claimed he was running the game on those settings and it'd occasionally crash.
Are you running the game on the Epic settings or whatever its called? I dont remember messing with the settings other than making the resolution 1080p though.
The Workshop is up now. Of course, Keychain posting that footage earlier means I may be very much so late to the punch. :v:
The Workshop is up now.
holy fuck that was fast. just got this game and modding has already been added, and lilac's headgear <3
Are you running the game on the Epic settings or whatever its called? I lowered them to Very High and I beat the boss first try.

Where's the level editor and other stuff like that?
Where's the level editor and other stuff like that?
According to the Devs on the Hat in Time discord, it should be out tonight.

I really enjoyed the voice acting. I dunno the classic banjo style of "GHUUHHH UHHH HHUHHH UHH UHH BLEWWWEGHHH" just rubbed me as obnoxious. Yookie Laylee made me want to blow my ears off. I thought it gave a lot of characters charm, especially the MC who was incredibly cute. Very charming game overall. Got a solid 12 hours from it. I think it mainly suffers from a lack of set pieces, though each one currently in the game are already so memorable. I wish it was a bit longer. The final "free roam" chapter was really when the game started to show it's advanced platforming chops, and I wish there were a few more challenging worlds like that to explore and do story missions.
i haven't had a problem with any of the voice acting so far. it's all really well done and brings a lot of quirkiness/personality into the game. the conductor is pretty great.

The babbling is one of them. Somehow they fucked up the cadence and it's REALLY annoying in YL.
So Lilac's mod is fucking wack and unbelievably fun to use
I think the reason why this game has been so well received was because it wasn't trying to copy previous 3D platformers. Instead they decided to incorporate what made those games good and added in mechanics of their own. This is what makes this game better than Yooka Laylee. They weren't trying to bring back the old, they wanted to create something new. I know for sure that I'm gonna pick up this game as soon as I can.
I tried it out, Lilac's mod also lets you beat the rocket Mafia without the time stop hat. It's pretty crazy.
How do you get the sequence break achievement, out of curiosity?
How do you get the sequence break achievement, out of curiosity?
The easiest one to do is on Act 1 of Mafia Town: Just ignore Mustache Girl and go straight to the Time Piece.
I tried it out, Lilac's mod also lets you beat the rocket Mafia without the time stop hat. It's pretty crazy.
I beat the rocket mafia with just a normal scooter. It takes some practice but is actually pretty easy to do once you learn how to jump and turn corners
The official mods are pretty nifty, and the mod tools should hopefully be out within the day, so I can't wait to mess around with it. From what I've gathered from the Discord, it's pretty much going to be full on UDK with access to everything the game has to offer. Should be relatively easy to make levels, and I think MekuCube was even toying around with the idea of making tutorials. Either way, I've had a very fulfilling day with this game and its Discord. Can't wait for more additional content, and can't wait to dive in myself.
