[sp]i don't think Jefferson is secretly a Prescott or anything like that, he's just a deeply fucked up man taking advantage of a disturbed youth. Nathan suddenly being behind that secret bdsm dungeon felt so off after what we've seen of him, he didn't seem nearly calculated enough to do the shit that must have been done to set that up. Makes a lot more sense that Mr. Jefferson was behind it from the beginning.[/sp]
[sp]Serial killers and the like have a tendency of not giving off any such indications. It's entirely possible Nathan deliberately keeps it to "really angry person" in public.[/sp]
With regards to Mr. Jefferson, [sp]Maybe Jefferson is using Nathan as a puppet, in his spaced out state Jefferson (in some capacity of which I am unsure) uses his phone/social media etc. to act as Nathan? Or atleast push the blame his way?[/sp]
[sp]But Nathan would see those messages when he wakes up, no?[/sp]
[sp]Does anyone have a vid of Jefferson taking a phone call in the hallway? i feel like that might give off clues.[/sp]
[editline]30th July 2015[/editline]
also,
[sp] I feel like the three bullets and the lineup of Max, Rachel, and Chloe are linked.
if you look in max's texts when you're in the alternate reality she mentions she visited the dark room, meaning she is involved with Nathan. which could be interesting if in the two universes Max and Rachel's roles are swapped.[/sp]
[sp]What if the bullets resembles the amount of times your heart has been shot throughout the game?[/sp]
[sp]Serial killers and the like have a tendency of not giving off any such indications. It's entirely possible Nathan deliberately keeps it to "really angry person" in public.[/sp]
[sp]serial killers are often outwardly charming rather than insane, but Nathan absolutely is outwardly insane. Nobody put it past him which made it much easier for Jefferson to slide under the radar.[/sp]
Oh jeez, did anyone else notice that that David guy is actually wearing this as a t-shirt?
wait which guy? Totally missed it
He meant Daniel, the guy who draws the portraits, not David. You can talk with him outside the dorm and at the EotW party.
[sp]if you look in max's texts when you're in the alternate reality she mentions she visited the dark room, meaning she is involved with Nathan. which could be interesting if in the two universes Max and Rachel's roles are swapped.[/sp]
While a little cheeky, [sp]darkroom in that context is more likely to be the darkrooms for photography students who need to process photos. Although she mostly sticks with polaroids, photography students are generally taught about most other methods, in my experience.
Max has a pretty obvious connection to Nathan though, and with the way Victoria might have ended up in this universe...[/sp]
[sp]Although I suspect that may have been a red herring set up by Jefferson to throw Max and Chloe off. Can't really prove that one, but there's still a lot up in the air.[/sp]
Not usually reading this thread often, so this probably got brought up before but my theory is [sp]the Deer is likely Rachel's ghost/spirit/consciousness from another timeline/whatever the fuck considering it appeared right when they uncovered her body and seemed to sort of lead Max along the path she's been on and to her own body. So, I'm gonna guess the blue butterfly at the start might be Chloe? Perhaps pulling strings to kick off all the events. Granted my only reason for assuming that is blue hair = blue butterfly[/sp] :v:
[editline]31st July 2015[/editline]
Anyways I'm gonna catch up on the thread now and probably find out I'm just a big dummy for thinking that
[sp]Maybe I should have let Warren beat him up but I did kind of feel sorry for him at the end there. He's clearly not right in the head so maybe it would have been too mean. Also I agree, I don't think Kate is Katie.[/sp]
[sp]I only let Warren beat him up because Chloe snatched his gun at the end of the altercation. Apparently when the beating is prevented no one is smart enough to grab the gun before he gets up...
Also that ending........ oh MY GOD WHAT THE FUCK OH MY HEART.[/sp]
So that's three times this game has made me cry...
Would you guys stay in the alt timeline if Chloe was okay?
Would you guys stay in the alt timeline if Chloe was okay?
No, because I don't want Max to take over the life of another Max.
She doesn't belong there.
nevermind ended up fixing it by disabling optical audio output
Does alt Max have rewind powers?
If you think about it, maybe [sp]Chloe dying early is a fixed event[/sp]. Like there had to be a car crash, if you don't let it happen to William it happens to Chloe. [sp]You then have the choice to kill Chloe and if you don't you still know her respiratory system will collapse soon and kill her anyway. Just like in this reality she got shot before you discovered your powers, and then the junkyard, and now by Mr. Jefferson.[/sp]
Of course, you could also just say [sp]that someone has to get shot in this timeline. I'm not going to say Frank Bowers, because that's an optional one that doesn't have any relevance in whether Chloe gets shot at the end of Ep. 4. I think Max is going to have pictures taken of her and then go back in time via the Warren photo or another picture on her wall or something and stop it from happening, and in the end will probably shoot Nathan or Mr. Jefferson.[/sp]
ALSO, I think , and I feel like this is def. not true, is the [sp]double moon was two realities colliding or something. Either it's because the photo is now a portal to that spot in time or maybe something to do with Mr. Jefferson being there too. There was that one site on one of the computers that mentioned others have had the ability to travel through time and if they wanted to use that they could play it as Mr. Jefferson also being able to travel. Maybe when Max's power gave out on the roof it was just Jefferson twisting time like she was, making it look like she didn't do anything, same with when she was drugged.[/sp]
Something that might be worth noting is [sp]the double moons portrayal of two realities/timelines. Doesnt one of the moons fade out during the final cutscene? Could that be Alt-Chloe dying, tying in to Chloe then getting shot?[/sp]
I pretty sure since this thread is a philosopher thread, also because I read the thread that most of you agree that [sp]Warren Selfie with Max will be a get away ticket so the ending of episode 4 would not happen[/sp]
[sp]but if she does, what about all the choices she did in the Vortex Party? The Picture was taken before Max and Chole going in, she has no reason to go there since Nathan is not there, and she obviously knows who's the one behind all this now I think, unless she has to do it all again which I doubt it would happen, that would make all the choices in the party pointless, unless there is something unique happening instead?[/sp]
I forgot I could do that. 4 Episodes in and I forget about the main mechanic of the game.
Haha, I know right? I happily used the rewinding mechanic for both the phone and conversation with Frank, but on the barn puzzle I completely forgot about the mechanic, I was so sure [sp]we had to use the green generator/motor/whatever[/sp] but I couldn't for the hell of me realize how to use it (or anything else).
I seriously had to look up a youtube video to remind that "HEY FUCKHEAD, TIME REWINDING EXISTS".
The question that keeps going through my head is 'Why?'
[sp] It seems that Sean Prescott knows what's coming seeing as he's funded a survival bunker and tells Nathan that they have some great destiny to share, but why support all of this fucked up photoshoot stuff with Jefferson? Is there something they're looking for in the photos? I guess another good question is 'how' they know about the tornado.[/sp]
[sp]They are probably involved with the whole tornado to begin with, that's probably part of the great destiny, or at least the aftermath of it if nothing else.
The whole photoshoot thing, who knows, he doesn't necessarily have to know about it. Jefferson could provide the equipment himself or Nathan just asked for it for school purposes. If he does know I don't think there are any proper clues to explain that, it will have to be revealed in ep 5[/sp]
So, did you guys [sp]pull the plug on alt-chloe?[/sp]
Why or why not?
Yes. [sp]She was going to die no doubt, her family was in over their heads with debt and Chloe herself was severely depressed about the situation and knew she would die sooner than later. Since Chloe had no other friends to support her and Max clearly wouldn't be able to keep her company at all times to ensure she would regain hope in her life and situation to the very end I thought it better to aid her.
It's a shitty move towards the parents, absolutely, but at the same time her death was inevitable and it's better to die happy than depressed in a situation like that. It would be really hard on them, but so it would be no matter the decision. At least this way Chloe is happy and her parents stand a fighting chance at surviving the financial situation
Poor alt-Max though, but that's honestly not my concern and I didn't even think about that before reading this thread.[/sp]
Best episode yet!
I kinda feel bad about [sp]getting David kicked out now. Sure, he's a massive douche and made quite a few fuckups in his investigation, but it seems like his heart was in the right place.[/sp]
I don't feel bad about it at all. [sp]David constantly overstepped his boundaries. His heart might have been in the right place but that's no excuse for acting the way he did towards his own family. He was pushing his agenda at the expense of everything else. He would never have a stable family life.[/sp]
That beating was so goddamn satisfying.
[sp]ALSO I FUCKING KNEW IT ABOUT JEFFERSON! 2nd Episode I was like, "This guy is kinda off, he seems too nice to me, plus he victim blamed Kate so how can he be painted as a good character", and LO AND BEHOLD, he's the motherfucker behind this shit.[/sp]
I honestly didn't see [sp]Jefferson coming at all. I always found him a bit off and too perfect, sure, but I didn't feel the hints were really out there. Then I read up on what made people realize it and I realized that there was actually more than enough to go on, plus the nice guy always turns out to be the bad one in these kind of stories after all.[/sp]
I just never pay attention to the details, and I haven't watched enough shows and movies of this type to really make the actually obvious connection.
They can try to paint Nathan as sympathetic as possible but I will never not let Warren go at it.
Even if I hated Nathan's guts, which I don't, I would never let Warren go at it. Not just because it's a dumb and irrational act of violence and Nathan really does not deserve it despite everything, but also because I wouldn't want Warren to cope with his actions.
There is literally nothing good about letting Warren go at it besides catering to a smug sense of self-satisfaction. Fighting fire with fire doesn't solve anything, and Nathan is going through some tough fucking shit.
[sp]What choices? I only saved that one girl's ass again and got into an argument with Victoria.[/sp]
You shouldn't be a bitch to someone just because they're a bitch to you. That's just stooping down to their level and being just as awful.
People act like bitches for a reason. Nobody is inherently mean.

I honestly didn't even try, because I don't like [sp]Victoria. I don't care if it's the morally right option to be nice to her despite her behavior for the entire game, I treat her the way I would in real life. And because there's no ignoring option I choose the only other one left.[/sp]
[sp] I treat her the way I would in real life.[/sp]
You shouldn't be a bitch to random people in the first place. Even if Vic has reasons for her behavior, she shouldn't take it out on others. I saw her bully my friends and she tried to bully me. I don't see how choosing to pretend being her best friend despite her ways is a better choice than defending yourself. It's not like I actively attack her.
So you're just an asshole?
You missed half of my post. I would ignore such behavior in real life. And standing up to somebody who's an ass to you doesn't automatically make you an ass, too.
