You shouldn't be a bitch to random people in the first place. Even if Vic has reasons for her behavior, she shouldn't take it out on others. I saw her bully my friends and she tried to bully me. I don't see how choosing to pretend being her best friend despite her ways is a better choice than defending yourself. It's not like I actively attack her.
Pretending to be her best friend by not acting like an ass towards her? Hah. Max is trying to understand why Victoria is a bitch and hope to make her stop acting like a bitch towards her. Not trying to be a best friend with her, just stop being her enemy.
She, as I play her, is a compassionate person that understands that people don't act like bitches out of nowhere and there is no point in worsening the situation. It would be extremely hypocritical to [sp]save Kate[/sp] and thus stand up against bullying and then on the other hand act like an asshole towards Victoria.
I respect your choice though since you didn't [sp]try to warn Victoria[/sp], you stayed in character.

Not literally trying to be her best friend. It was meant as a figure of speech.

I understand your viewpoint too, really, but as I said I don't think that standing up to Victoria is a worse choice. Sure, if every human being was like your Max, the world would be a much better place. Theoretically.
But people can learn from losses, too. Somebody actually fighting back for once could also teach Victoria a thing or two, maybe even make her realize how her ways are wrong. It doesn't seem like anyone has actually dared to do that before.
You missed half of my post. I would ignore such behavior in real life. And standing up to somebody who's an ass to you doesn't automatically make you an ass, too.
[sp]Not warning someone that they're going to get drugged and kidnapped and possibly even killed simply because they were mean you to is being an asshole. Plain and simple.[/sp]

Oh yeah? You seem to forget that [sp]I went to that party to prevent her from being drugged, kidnapped and killed by catching her murderer in the first place. You also seem to forget that we're talking about the player's behavior towards her for the entire game, not just that one section. I knew from our previous encounters that conversations with Victoria never turned out well. What good would it do to tell her her best friend was a maniac who tried to kidnap her? Sure she would believe me. Maybe telling her would make her warn Nathan before I could get to him, too? It's all a matter of perspective.[/sp] Plain and simple.

Stop calling me an asshole
And you got appropriately punished for living out your fantasy, just like you would in real life.
To be honest, in the real life - the revenge fantasy would probably work better than being nice to her.
If this was real life and you'd try to be nice to her, she'd just repay you with more of her bitchy attitude anyway.
I'll spoiler this as it might be something important in Ep.5, but [sp]apparently numerous quite large texture files can be found in the game for Rachael Amber and ofcourse everyone has jumped on the "WE'LL SEE HER IN EPISODE 5!!" bandwagon.[/sp]

Wouldn't happen to have a source, would you?

Having befriended people like these myself and been in a friend group with the class' 4 troublemakers despite being a follow-the-rules-guy myself I wouldn't say so.
Whether you should bother or not, that's a different thing, but to degrade somebody into being "that bitch" and leaving it like that, as if it's not possible to change, I don't like that. That's a way of looking at things that only reinforce your prejudice without doing anything to break them.
I give up on befriending people that do nothing to contribute to forming a relationship myself, I don't try on anyone that's not responsive back and will happily let them stay an "outcast" if that is clearly what they desire. But first I at least try to approach them, try to include them in group work or whatever and invite them to hang out. If they still act in an unfriendly or unsocial manner then so be it, but don't just put people in a box because of the impression you get.
Also I don't think it's to be unexpected if you are a "nobody" that a "bitch" would give you some bitchy attitude at first contact anyways, you're a stranger, they have shit to deal with that have made them bitchy, of course it's not going to work out perfectly just because you act nice the first time. It's when you keep trying that you might actually make an impression on them and they'll start seeing you as an individual, not just another annoying person.

[sp]Squeeky clean or bruised and hurt? Wouldn't surprise me if we meet her in an alternate universe, one where she wasn't kidnapped or survived. Could also just be that we finally get to look at her corpse. Could be flashbacks, memories, montage, etc.
We'll see her, for sure, but as a living person in our timeline? Not necessarily.[/sp]

I'm afraid I cant find the post. But looking again, its just another character file (same goes for Max/Chloe etc, with lesser encountered characters obviously having smaller file sizes. Which makes me wonder why hers is the largest file size of all.

Sorry guys, absolutely nothing of value to report. Merely seems like swatches and various parts to the notebook that Max keeps.
I bought this game yesterday and I've only just completed episode 4. TellTale has nothing on DONTKNOD at this point, every episode feels longer and filled with much more content (and quality) than anything TellTale put out. I like TellTales games but none of their games have put me on a feels trip like what Life is Strange has.
Yeah, Telltale has been too same-y since The Walking Dead. And that's not to say they're bad, The Walking Dead Season 1 was amazing, The Wolf Among Us was damn good, and to my surprise, Tales From The Borderlands is actually really really great. But their games are just too formulaic at this point. It's getting old.
I really hope we'll see Dontnod continue making this style of game in the future, because they are knocking it out of the park.
The problem with Telltales and well, adventure games in general is that you're always watching the story and only changing the dialogue in it
The plot is always the same, the way its told is always the same, the only thing that changes is a few lines depending on that one time or more you decided to be an asshole to X character
Anyone that dies is always inconsequential to the plot (unless its the ending) and when they don't they either vanish or take a set role that another character would have anyway
Dontnod do a good job of partly breaking the formula because a lot of your early choices have fairly significant consequences on things that happen later
I mean if you check this chart right here you can clearly see that the very first decision you get in Life is Strange contributes to one of three outcomes in just one scene at the very end of episode 2. In a Telltale game, that basically never happens. All that would change is how the characters speak in that scene.
[sp]You also get this sort of effect with kate's suicide as various choices you make partly influence whether or not she'll die[/sp]
Having befriended people like these myself and been in a friend group with the class' 4 troublemakers despite being a follow-the-rules-guy myself I wouldn't say so.
Different experiences, I guess. Being friendly to assholes only led to them thinking I was a pussy.
Regarding the Telltale versus DONTNOD discussion:
I was surprised how good LiS was at first, but then I found out that DONTNOD are the same guys who made "Remember Me" - one of the very few games I finished despite its rather weak gameplay. When I don't enjoy the gameplay, I usually just give up and never touch the game again. But the storytelling, atmosphere and music was so good it made it interesting enough to endure the pain. These guys are really (REALLY) good at creating worlds and immersion. Their struggle with game mechanisms makes interactive adventures a perfect genre for them, because... there's not really much actual gameplay going on, right?
Also, I've mentioned this a lot in the Telltale thread - but they're working on too many projects at once. And it shows.

Telltale got in over their heads when they became the "immersive story games" guys. Sam and Max Season 3 and the Puzzle Agent games are two of the best story experiences I've seen in a video game, and that's not because of player input into how the story pans out.
Bought episode 1: Thought "Well, this is pretty cool".
Bought the season pass: "Oh god this is the best thing ever".
[sp]Seeing disabled Chloe in the alternative time-line got me rather sad[/sp]
Episode 4 spoilers: [sp]I really hope that something happens so Chloe makes it![/sp]
Only about 22 days for episode 5 releasing.
Now I want to start a new game, but pick the exact opposites of what I did in my first run and see what will happen.
tbh, I wouldn't really mind it if the supernatural stuff wasn't explained. I am more interested in the Rachel Amber stuff and in what will happen with all the characters. Supernatural is just supernatural to me
, it doesn't need explaining.

Given the limitations it has been given it would be incredibly weird not to explain it.
I highly doubt it will be explained how Max obtained her powers. Unless it suddenly turns out we're in some fucked up alternate universe where powers are known about.
I always thought the homeless lady behind the two whales diner had powers like Max. She seems to understand where Max is coming from when talking about certain things.

so does the janitor dude actually
They introduced that [sp]"travel through further time by looking at a photo" plot device for a reason, and we will most likely use Warren's photo to save the day.[/sp]
I just really want to know how Max got her powers, so hopefully the ending climax will explain a bit. Hopefully.
They could throw a brick at us and make it so [sp]Warren lost/deleted the picture[/sp]

I believe the janitor knows much more than the homeless lady.
I don't think how she obtained the powers needs explanation, but how it works.
[sp]It can't go past a certain point as that causes significant pain. She couldn't use it when trying to rescue Kate (deffo needs to be explained). She can't use it when drugged. (ok, logically because she loses consciousness, but just how focused does she need to be? She had "plenty" of time to rewind but couldn't. It can't require much power, just concentration because the only side-effects she's shown is pain, not fatigue)[/sp]
probably late (spoilers)

she also has the same mouth is slightly open and teeth are slightly showing thing as Max
They could throw a brick at us and make it so [sp]Warren lost/deleted the picture[/sp]
Deleted? It's a polaroid.
Deleted? It's a polaroid.
Then refer to the "lost" part of lost/deleted.
Even then, [sp]all Max would be able to do is warn Chloe, if she's willing to listen, seeing how impatient she was to find Nathan during the photo.
It's not a portal to another timeline. It's more like a temporary space that allows one to modify events. A crossroad between alternate realities. Wonder if the double moon was any indication of a crossroad being created...[/sp]
I think I have a good theory as to what's going to happen in Episode 5
[sp]Jefferson will take Chloe and Max to a theater after drugging Max further- there she'll trip out as Jefferson makes out with Corpse Chloe. Max then awakens her subconscious personality Rachel just as Jefferson turns into a angry fat blueberry and chases her down a flight of stairs before having a climactic battle in a nightmare dreamscape, the tornado in the background.[/sp]
Just got around finishing the latest episode. What the fuck game really turned fucking dark.
[sp]The preview to episode 5 almost makes me feel ill. raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa[/sp]
[sp]Yeah, the whole bunker scene and the ep5 preview made me genuinely disturbed. More so than most games.[/sp]
I am now 100% legit thanks to the generosity of my friend.
