I doubt it, it doesn't make sense in the context of what you can/cannot do. [sp]When you go back to save Warren, you're restricted to a couple rooms- everything else is a white void and you can't go outside. If you go back to the party I don't see how that'd effect much. Instead you took that selfie at the very start back in episode 1 with Jefferson in the room. I suspect that'll have more of a impact.[/sp]
[sp]Yeah, I had some time to process and it makes sense it's only there to throw you off. The butterfly shot will probably be the one.[/sp]

The butterfly shot will probably be the one.[/sp]
[sp]I think it'd be more sensible to use the selfie she took in the classroom. From the butterfly photo she could only make Chloe live or die again, I guess if we did we could see what would happen if Chloe died where she originally died. However, if we took the classroom route we could potentially make ourselves the winners of the contest, because we still have the photo we wanted to enter, which would be more interesting than making Chloe live or die again. (At least in my opinion.)[/sp]
Damn the fight between [SP]Warren and Nathan gave me mixed emotions. I was cheering so much, but then it got to a point where I felt sorry for Nathan and that maybe I let Warren go too far.. Two wrongs don't make a right, no matter how much of a dick the dude is[/SP]
[sp]I initially decide to let Warren get a few more punches in, then he just kept going and going and i started to feel bad[/sp]
[sp]I glad I held Warren from mashing Nathan's face. He just another victim, confused from what happened the night of Rachel's incident with Jefferson. Both were drugged in the pictures. He's literally stuck between his father's non-existent support towards his illness and (probably) Jefferson's threats. I suspect he either helped Nathan a lot to convince him to let him use the bunker or he blackmailed him to do so. Using all of the pictures to link him to all the drugged girls, alongside Kate's condition (or death) and Rachel's death, would be sufficient to destroy the Prescott's name and allow Dickfferson to come out a hero, boosting his popularity as an artist. And feed his love for the spotlight.[/sp]
Sometimes I feel bad for Nathan but then I remember he bought a disposable phone just so he could threaten to kill me and has the worlds biggest murderboner bad past or not. Then I stop feeling bad. [sp]Like there HAS to be a line between feeling sympathetic and enabling. If no one ever fought back and refused to punish him because "aw he just doesn't understand : )" then no lesson would ever be learned.[/sp] [editline]10th August 2015[/editline] To a extent you can look past certain mental aspects of Nathan but [sp]giving him a free pass to threatening people with a weapon (and in one timeline actually killing chloe), assault, harassment, and straight up kidnapping + murder is inexcusable. His family and by extension himself in the setting is a thousand times more powerful than Jefferson and there's no way to tell if he was drugged up during Rachel's shoot as the girls don't comment on it. [/sp]
Sure, I have no sympathy for Nathan's most violent behaviors and he must be punished for what he has done eventually. But when you know what goes in his life and what leads to the hateful character he has become, actual helpful support would have made Nathan a better person. We don't see much of him in the [sp]alternate timeline but makes you wonder if he would have acted the same way.[/sp]
Does the game actually ever show you the classroom selfie from the very beginning of episode 1, the selfie with chloe from episode 3 is in your diary but I don't think I've seen the first one.
I had a though [sp]what is the source of maxes power? Did it come from the butterfly?[/sp]
I had a though [sp]what is the source of maxes power? Did it come from the butterfly?[/sp]
We don't know yet. Probably gonna be explained in Episode 5, if at all. I'd prefer it to just be left up to interpretation, but people'd probably not be cool with that loose end
So i just finished the fourth episode avoiding all the spoilers...i dont think a game has fucked me so hard emotionally this hard...it hit straight like a train right on all my feels...it WRECKED me. Seeing[sp] Jefferson cold, killer face after he shot Chloe[/sp] sent shivers all the way down my spine it was a horrible image...
ive played the game since it came out and from my point of view the story is fantastic but the puzzles can be complete shit sometimes [sp](like needing exactly 5 things to convince chloe of your powers and no less)[/sp] and the dialogue is very square enix but its definitely not a bad game
For that puzzle I just wrote things down much easier than trying to remember
For that puzzle I just wrote things down much easier than trying to remember
Real men memorise every number. Who needs pathetic paper. I've got everything I need in my oversized head.
Sometimes I feel bad for Nathan but then I remember he bought a disposable phone just so he could threaten to kill me and has the worlds biggest murderboner bad past or not.
He had a disposable phone for drugs. It was also convenient to use it to send those messages.
Just finished episode 4, great game so far. The story/choices are much more interesting to me compared to Walking Dead which I just got bored of partway through episode 3 So in my post-episode fervor, I just google for discussion/reviews on episode 4. Go figure the Polygon review is on top of results. Wow, I can't believe people still go to that shitheap of a site. Some of the worst, most pandering, terribly supported high-brow criticisms of any game I've read. I'm surprised I didn't see them unironically use the word "triggered" in the review it was so laughable bad. And I'm an art major.
Is that the one that called the game sexist because the scene at the start of ep1 where the lighthouse falls on max had her being assaulted by a phallic symbol?

Then said "fuck that" when I remembered he had a gun. When you point a gun at someone, it is life or death. And we already know he has the mental capability to kill because that is what he did at the start of the game. He got the shit beat out of him and we took his gun. Felt bad for warren though.[/sp] [editline]16th August 2015[/editline]
Is that the one that called the game sexist because the scene at the start of ep1 where the lighthouse falls on max had her being assaulted by a phallic symbol?
haha you have to be joking. Did they actually stoop that low? I was just talking about the episode 4 review. Basically says the photos in the binder were exploitive and the game has no right to ever show such things going on using the most embarrassing "think of the children!" logic possible that would get someone failing their way through art school if they tried to use that during an actual art critique.
haha you have to be joking. Did they actually stoop that low?
I was mistaken, it wasn't in the review, it was in an article about how men shouldn't write female characters :v:
The game begins in a moment of extreme peril for Caulfield. I might be going too far here, but I find it interesting that she is presented, not merely in trouble, but endangered by that most erect of phallic structures: a lighthouse. Make of that what you will.
Polygon is such a shitshow.
I was mistaken, it wasn't in the review, it was in an article about how men shouldn't write female characters :v: Polygon is such a shitshow.
That sounds like something I would have heard in a first year film studies course. The thing is, considering how hipster the game gets at times, if Max can [sp]enter a lesbian relationship with chloe, well, if they can turn back time on the end of episode 4[/sp] I honestly wouldn't be surprised if there was intent behind that by the scriptwriters. Also I've only been watching people play it so I've only been following the plot and less the symbolism and themes so I have no idea if any patriarchy stuff is being addressed in an obvious fashion. Then again you could argue that it is, considering all the major antagonists have been male characters, mainly in positions of power or authority over other people. On the other hand you could argue that they set that up to more closely follow generic American teen drama TV, without any extra implications.
Just finished Ep 2 and now I feel depressed. That hit harder than I was expecting.
Just finished Ep 2 and now I feel depressed. That hit harder than I was expecting.
just you fuckin' wait
Episode 2 really had the ending that hit me the hardest, the other ones don't even come close.
Episode 2 really had the ending that hit me the hardest, the other ones don't even come close.
not an ending, but [sp]chloe's assisted suicide choice[/sp] at the beginning of episode 4 tore me right the fuck up, and it was barely a half an hour into the episode [sp]i couldn't do it :C[/sp]
Not sure if I'm late or anything, but:
Some people have been confirmed for playing it early, probably as part of testing. A dude over at /vg/ gives some insight into that around releases, gave some neat info like how [sp]Kate's scene in Episode 4 was pushed forward from being an epilogue piece in Episode 5.[/sp] They are very unlikely to be playing the full episode until very, very close to release, though, due to scenes getting moved around and other things.

That's suicide, and I'd rather not be drunk when I see the ending. Also the same release date as episode 5 of another popular point and click game.
