[sp]Done with the episode and I have mixed feeling about it.
That nightmare scene was fucked up and reverse scene. But still, I think finale of Episode 4 has more emotional impact than the fifth. But the ending is still good.
And I also sacrificed Arcadia Bay, cuz Chloe ftw.
And how do I save the fisherman?[/sp]
Just ended it. Whoa... Just damn whoa. Well, honestly I thought it'd be more awesome. But, well, it's the logical ending of everything.
Anyway, this episode was creep as fuck. Thank god there were no screamers or something.
[sp]anyone that didn't sacrifice arcadia bay is simply soulless. how could you do that to chloe...[/sp]

[sp]because nothing is fucked up if Chloe gets shot[/sp]

This.
[sp]Kill one, and literally save over a thousand, basically[/sp]

And how do I save the fisherman?[/sp]
[sp]Turn on fuse box, walk in, reverse, help, fuse box through window[/sp]
[sp]anyone that didn't sacrifice arcadia bay is simply soulless. how could you do that to chloe...[/sp]
[sp]I only watched a stream of it, but I'd sacrifice her simply because of the number of "Hella"'s[/sp]
[sp]A wee bit disappointed one ending had a lot more work put into making sads and making you feel horrible you didn't kill all the funeral goers instead.[/sp]
[sp]anyone that didn't sacrifice arcadia bay is simply soulless. how could you do that to chloe...[/sp]
[sp]because she said she would rather accept her fate for the good of everyone else who she loves? why wouldn't you respect your best friend's dying wishes[/sp]
[sp]plus you kiss her after you make that decision, so.....[/sp]
Fucking shit man. What a game.
holy fuck
[editline]20th October 2015[/editline]
what a fucking RIDE
Really liked Episode 5, though some things made me lol.
[sp]"TIME TO SHUT THE FUCK UP, MAX."[/SP]
[SP]"THOSE WERE MY BEANS, MAX. THOSE WERE MY FUCKING BEANS."[/SP]
[sp]"KICK THE TABLE!" "YES, MA'AM."[/SP]
[sp]Hearing Max narrate backwards in the reverse EP1 walkthrough (then the song being listed backwards in the credits). Basically, the entire nightmare section had me grinning like a dumbass.[/sp]
Finale spoilers
[sp]I sacrificed Arcadia Bay, because fuck that. I didn't come this far just to let Chloe die.
But now I realized I killed Kate, fuck me.
Also, the "Sacrifice Arcadia Bay" ending felt really rushed and lame. Sacrificing Chloe is of course the canonical ending, but the difference in quality of each epilogue is absurd.
By the way, was anyone scared by the two giant squirrels in the nightmare? My heart honestly skipped a beat and I got goose skin, wasn't expecting that and I was already really immersed into the tension.[/sp]
Holy shit.
That is all that came out of my mouth at the end.
First impressions compared to now actually feel like alternate timelines. Except for the hip writing at times.
[sp]The nightmare sequence was amazing. I love the intro throwback. The infinite door loop and the toilet puzzles were great. Giant Squirrels! And the final sacrifice.[/sp]
Man... what a fucking ride. I savored every bit. It was awesome.
10/10 [sp] Or should I say Hella/10. Not sorry about that one.[/sp]
[editline]t[/editline]
[sp]Oh and Pompidou talking shit on Max's phone when she was in the globe.[/sp]
Fuck, I chose the [sp]kill Arcadia ending, thought it was sad, then watched the other ending, and it was so much better. I wish I had chosen it originally because it would've made my ending much more emotional. It felt like a proper ending, as much as it hurts to permanently kill Chloe. After watching it, I had an empty feeling inside me, that Max isn't complete without Chloe. I just wish the sacrifice Arcadia ending was more fleshed out because it ended pretty quickly.[/sp]
Over all, it's been an amazing ride and I enjoyed every bit. I just want more Max and Chloe adventures because I miss them already.
Just finished the fifth episode, and it was obviously awesome! And the ending was a perfect closure for the game. (:
[sp]I chose to sacrifice Chloe for many reasons:
- If I saved Chloe "one last time", it wouldn't probably be the last time for Max, because Chloe was supposed to die after all (Max saving her again, again and again would most likely fuck up the time even more, and give Max something worse damage than just nosebleeds).
- I never cared about Chloe so much throughout episodes. She was okay, but there were many other more interesting characters than she was (trying to be for the players).
- I cared Kate the most to be honest. I was always concerned of her well-being since her suicide attempt. So there was NO FUCKING WAY to sacrifice Arcadia Bay along with her.
- I also particularly cared about Warren, Joyce, David and even Victoria more than Chloe, because she wasn't THAT bad after all.
- + other characters who were friendly/friends with Max, like Alyssa and Dana for example.
To summarize: Biggest reasons for me were Kate and Warren! Even though the ending was good for me, I would've wanted to see just a bit of the normal life in Arcadia Bay where Max hangs out with her friends, after the funeral I mean. But well, it was good enough.[/sp]
Maybe it was just me but I really didn't like the ending.
[sp]
- Why was Jefferson reduced to no more than the most stereotypical villain ever? His voice even changed (significantly; he sounded like an angry Samuel for some reason).
- The majority of plot development seen in previous episodes replaced with uninteresting linear setpieces. Which made up the majority of episode 5. I'm fine that this episode followed all the so-obvious-they'd-be-disappointing theories that were going around shortly after episode 1's release but my favorite aspect of the game (character interaction) was put completely on the backburner. No real interaction with any of the characters except Chloe, Joyce, Warren, Victoria, David, Jefferson and Frank (and even then the majority of them are short and one-note).
- Really shitty ending with no closure. Really? You don't give us at least one scene post catastrophe where we can converse with the characters and see where we stand and what they plan on doing? But no, of course not, instead either Max and Chloe drive away without a word or Max attends Chloe's funeral (also without words). Thrilling stuff.
[/sp]
I loved the first 4 episodes, and it's sad that DontNod decided to make the majority of the episode focused on Max going through the [sp]Scarecrow nightmare scenes from Arkham Asylum[/sp].
Episode 1 : 9/10
Episode 2 : 8.5/10
Episode 3 : 8.5/10
Episode 4 : 9/10
Episode 5 : 3/10
I dont know what to feel. I just feel empty and hollow.
[sp]I sacrificed Arcadia Bay. It just didnt feel right to kill Chloe after everything that had happened.[/sp]
[sp]I sacrificed Arcadia Bay, too. I just felt that I've put so much effort into saving Chloe, all that effort would've gone to waste if I let her go. I just said "Fuck this city" after Max tried to tell her alternate-self that "It isn't just about me or Chloe anymore" - which just filled me with the warm and sweet feeling of hypocrisy. Also I bet half of the people in the tornado are fine, just a dead body here and there, but I like the gamble.[/sp]
[sp]Also that scene where Max took Jefferson's Rolls Royce-Bentley bastard child for a drive was so fucking cool[/sp]
Damn gotta wait until tomorrow to play Episode 5. I finish Uni for the rest of the week though so I'll be getting some beer and shutting the curtains for the finale.
