Like most others who actually played this, I really enjoyed it. The start was a bit discomforting with the dumb high school drama but I took the time to play it right and read through the journal and all. You can't enjoy this without properly immersing yourself into the mind and world of the character. I realized by the end that I was supposed to be worn down by the silly drama, to emphasize the reality of the world you're in and appreciate the rest of the first episode more. [sp]and it makes the realization that the hurricane is real and not art drama have a real sting to it, worrying for the ignorant townsfolk you spent the episode helping[/sp] also holy shit hahaha, the 'x% people did y' choice list at the end, [sp]do not hide in the closet, then directly blame her for the drugs instead of saying they're yours[/sp] jesus christ lmao who would do that option what kind of special asshole must you be [editline]3rd February 2015[/editline] [sp]I really like the security officer's character. He's a dumb asshole, but he's clearly onto something real despite his paranoia, and his placement into the story going outside of the school was unexpected and fascinating.[/sp] I wish there wasn't that train teaser at the end for the next episode. I don't like spoilers of any kind. [editline]3rd February 2015[/editline] this game's best achievement is in theme lots of great details in pacing and the environment to make you feel what they intend as the game progresses
honestly i have a feeling like chloe's dad is actually a really good guy but he's gotten really worn down because he took the place of her real father and her resentment and bad attitude has kind of made him really cold towards kids her age because of it [editline]3rd February 2015[/editline]
also holy shit hahaha, the 'x% people did y' choice list at the end, [sp]do not hide in the closet, then directly blame her for the drugs instead of saying they're yours[/sp] jesus christ lmao who would do that option what kind of special asshole must you be
[sp]i couldn't figure out how to get in the closet because all of the luggage and stuff collapses and i felt really rushed so i just assumed that you had nowhere to hide. I took the blame at first but then max was like "I need to stop taking the blame for people's mistakes because it makes me look bad" so I went back and blamed chloe. And I broke her snowglobe.[/sp] i'm the worst friend ever and yeah, i feel like the teaser just spoiled all of the scenic locations so when you get to them they won't be as charming if you just stumble across them with no knowledge of what it's supposed to look like
Debating taking the plunge for this. I love these types of games but I may wait till episode 2 or 3 release.
Debating taking the plunge for this. I love these types of games but I may wait till episode 2 or 3 release.
How dear is the $5? Do you have any reservations about the setting or concept? I picked it up yesterday and don't regret it-- the setting is something that might (depending on how the series unfolds) have made me shaky about buying a full season, but a single episode seemed (and was/is) a lot easier to process. Buuut if you're cool with the idea of it already, waiting for a season might not be bad. (And I would recommend giving it a shot in some matter, it's quite well-done.)
I was given this by a friend and I was expecting way worse, but this is surprisingly pretty dang good. Some of the writing could be better but overall the the first episode is interesting, the time reversal system adds some spice to this telltale-style formula, and it has pretty good pacing. I'm excited for later episodes. Honestly, if you can give this game a chance, you really should. Playing the first episode should probably give you a sense of whether this will be something you enjoy or not, and since it's going for pretty cheap on its own, i'd say it's worth a try.
I'm liking it, but the writing needs some work, and holy shit the mouths don't even begin to sync up.
I just bought it. Really liked it. The visuals and music is quite nice, makes the game feel very cozy in a way. But dang, the lipsync problem annoyed me.
I played the first episode last night and really enjoyed the game. I look forward to the next episode and am interested to see where the stories will go. There was a lot of interesting characters and the details in the environment were all nice touches. I just wish the rest of the episodes were available to play now.
I'm falling in love with the menu soundtrack. It's just so calm and neat
I bought the first episode because the demo was so ridiculously badly written. I love this game for all the wrong reasons. The premise is a good one, but the writing is hilarious.
Haha yeah, I've seen people excuse it with the reason that the writers are French but I don't know :v: But meh, I can look past it as long as the overarching story is intriguing enough.
So I got enjoyment from the Telltale games and stuff from being able to make "wrong" decisions and whatnot. The rewind mechanic isn't necessary, right? Just for players that want to go back on their decisions and try something else?

It's really well done.

Anyone know the song that plays in Chloe's room? I really dig it.
Anyone know the song that plays in Chloe's room? I really dig it.
Was it this one?
Yep! Thanks
I absolutely love this game - something about it just makes it really nice to play. I've now played the first episode 3 times and I really can't wait for the next episodes to come out. I love the characters and the whole style and feel of the game. There is a lot of stuff to see and do in this game. One of my favourite things is the level of detail - there are a lot of details to examine and plenty of back story to read into about all the characters. Apparently they are hoping to follow a six week release window between all of the episodes and they should all be about the same length roughly. For an episodic game I'd say the first episode is a great length and took me roughly 3.5 hours each playthrough. I hope they can stick to their release schedule and the rest of the episodes can be as good as the first as I absolutely adore Episode One! If you are a fan of the Telltale format of story orientated games, I strongly recommend checking out this game.
When is episode two due?
When is episode two due?
They posted today on their Facebook page that it should be out before the end of March.
I picked this game up yesterday and I finished the first episode just earlier. I liked it, but the voice acting was a real drawback, as well as the writing sometimes. So many lines just felt incredibly forced or unnatural, either because they were written as something no one would ever say or the voice actor clearly didn't understand the context and emphasised the wrong words. Pretty much every time Chloe said "hella" I was cringing, and whoever played that guy with the undercut and glasses outside the school building should never be given a voice acting job again. A lot of characters sounded almost the same too. I just hope it improves as the game continues.
I picked up ep 1 after seeing some screenshots, i really enjoyed it, will be picking up the rest when i get paid
I shouldn't like this game, the writing is so funky, but something about it really sticks with me.
The ability to just sit and observe the environment is really cool. With photography being centered around this game, they utilize the rule of thirds excellently.
So I was reading the LiS subreddit and a community manager from Dontnod made an AMA. While reading the comments, I saw this: I noticed that there's also a thread made specifically about shipping and not a single comment mentioning how weird this was. Is this normal? I mean, I know what shipping is, but is this a casual thing to talk about nowadays? I even read comments on some Youtube videos where like 90% are just "I ship him with her, her with her, him with him!" and it weirds me out.

[sp]Max and Chloe smashing clams, plz[/sp]
Goddamn this game is such an enigma. I want to hate it but I'm seriously more hyped for the next episode of this than any game coming out in the near future.
I saw TBFP this game and I have to say, it looks awesome and the story is pretty good. I am going to pick this up next week for sure.

Oh god I feel terrible about that final choice, neither make me feel great.
Oh god I feel terrible about that final choice, neither make me feel great.
And what was that choice?
