Just beat the game.
[sp]I went with sacrificing Arcadia Bay, then I went back and did the other ending (sacrificing Chloe) like I usually do when games have multiple endings. And honestly, I prefer the latter. I am disappointed that they didn't explain the time powers and the Deer which was supposedly "Rachel" but it's not much of a big deal.[/sp]
Now for my favorite part of the episode.
[sp]This has to be the best Horror Game....episode I have ever played, and I am fucking serious...I mean I haven't played many horror games, but comparing it to recent horror games, it's really good. It really freaked me out, especially with the image of Max on the Computer in the school room, Kate mourning herself, seeing the squirrels outside the window and much more. It was the best part of Ep5 imo.
I don't understand one thing regarding the nightmare sequence..they were saying Max died...what was that about?[/sp]
Speaking of headcanon, I'm working on a thing.
If any of you lovely nerds know how to extract audio files from this game (more specifically, dialogue), hit me up on Steam ASAP.

Well you're not technically wrong.
But I had something more adorable in mind.

I've extracted all the music from the game. What dialogue files do you need?
I've extracted all the music from the game. What dialogue files do you need?
Basically the last 5 minutes of the ending [sp]with the choice being "Sacrifice Arcadia Bay"[/sp].
I'm hoping that bit is separated into effects, music and dialogue and it's not all mixed into one track. That'll make it more difficult.
Considering that Season 2 more or less won't be connected, the ending could be what you want it to be.
I just hate being bummed by the weak endings, the season as a whole was amazing and I really don't want to say goodbye to the characters
[Sp]I feel like max could have went back again and at least warned people.about the storm. that way at least those she cares about could get out and be safe and Chloe is still alive.[/sp]

Is there going to be a season 2? I imagine that if there is it's going to heavily wrap around the Price family.

I'll extract them later today when I get home.

I hope they do something like AHS where they keep the actors but they play different characters. Or same characters and actors but completely different story.

[sp]So sacrificing people that you don't care about is okay? And I'm not even sure people would believe her.[/sp]

This gon be good.

[sp]I don't understand one thing regarding the nightmare sequence..they were saying Max died...what was that about?[/sp]
Don't remember the context of this, but my best guess would be [sp]one of the "alternate reality" Maxes. It becomes apparent that every change Max makes creates an alternate world, as followed by Max being unable to control all alternate realities at once and having them combine and culminate in the nightmare sequences. So every time Max time-traveled to avoid death, she also left behind an alternate reality where Max actually does die.[/sp]
There was that homeless person.
Dunno what would happen if Max didn't tell her about it.
[sp]Max finds her dead behind the diner crushed underneath a car,[/sp] which is weird considering I did warn her about it - I guess my save file was bugged.
[sp]there's loads of cryptic stuff left unanswered. I remember speaking to Samuel before and after the Victoria paint bucket incident. He seemed to have an affinity for animals (squirrels in particular) and a lot of what he said seemed to point towards him having a hunch about Max's ability??? Yet nothing is answered regarding that. What symbolism did squirrels play in the game?[/sp]
I dunno, I chose to [sp]sacrifice Arcadia Bay and the ending compared to other episodes was lacklustre[/sp]. Bit disappointed, really.
[editline]23rd October 2015[/editline]
[sp]you can go back in time and let Chloe die but what about all that shit with Kate being drugged, Jefferson being a sick psychopathic fuck and Nathan ending up dying, too? How does altering them not create a big "fuck you" storm?? Saving Chloe makes everything go to Hell, but saving anyone else is a-okay? When you saved William, Chloe ends up paralyzed but there wasn't any bigass storm to cleanse the town[/sp]
[sp]When you saved William, Chloe ends up paralyzed but there wasn't any bigass storm to cleanse the town[/sp]
[sp]But she still dies in that timeline, so I guess only her death matters??!![/sp]

Thanks a bunch, man <3
Also I dunno why, but listening to these speeches without all the background noise somehow makes it more sad.
Also, jesus that's a lot of dialogue alterations depending on choice. I didn't get [sp]Chloe to say she loved Max D:[/sp]
So [sp]he should die because he has mental problems? That's just fucking cold, dude.[/sp]
wait so
youre saying that me [sp]not feeling sad over the death of the guy that brings a gun to school and threatens people[/sp] is cold
but [sp]sacrificing all of arcadia bay to have chloe isnt[/sp]
blah, first four episodes were great imo, last one, not so much. it had some great moments and scenes but overall it didn't have the same feel that the first four episodes did.
glad I played the game but knowing what I know now, I feel no reason to play it again.

[sp]But you didn't alter those things in the final timeline. Chloe died, Nathan got arrested for it, spilled his guts on Jefferson, he got arrested, so Kate is fine. That's just how it was originally going to happen if Max never changed anything.[/sp]

[sp]Actually, I'm sure that Max had a hand in it[/sp]
[sp]Why did Jefferson let Kate go, yet killed everyone else?[/sp]
[sp]Why did Jefferson let Kate go, yet killed everyone else?[/sp]
[sp]he didn't kill everyone else. he had binders and binders full of victims, yet his only casualties were Rachel and (soon to be) Max and Chloe. Rachel was Nathan's mistake, for accidentally overdosing her when he was trying to copy Jefferson. Max and Chloe though was Jefferson covering his tracks and using Nathan as a scapegoat[/sp]
i cant remember how to make spoilers
[editline]23rd October 2015[/editline]
[sp]I felt like choosing the sacrifice chloe ending nullified all of the actions leading up to that moment, and although its honestly the better ending (between being fleshed out and morally right) i could only imagine max sitting on all of this information and having to cope on her own
not to mention chloe dying at literally the lowest point in life, dying feeling like nobody loved her, not knowing max ever came back to arcadia bay and feeling like max and rachel had abandoned her
i feel like picking the sacrifice arcadia bay ending is basically saying "fuck you to destiny" and carving your path despite the repercussion
i know it's not the morally right decision, but damn the sacrifice chloe ending is just too much [/sp]
They really need to have an epilogue for Life is Strange, the ending to me wasn't as satisfying as I'd imagine
apparently, Dontnod is in some pretty serious economic shit-- to the point that they couldn't even afford to do too much more with the ending
I had a thought on what Max should have done [sp] to save Chloe and stop the storm [/sp]
[sp]Swat the butterfly. Stop that blue winged fucker from flapping its wings of death.[/sp]
In all seriousness though, this was a pretty thought-provoking game. More proof of the story-telling prowess of video games.
-snip-
what blows my mind is just thinking about all the [sp]alternate timelines that Max left behind. scores and scores of dead Chloes and Maxes. pretty haunting concept. just thinking about the Maxes left behind in the Jefferson segments where he has her in the Dark Room[/sp]
If I were Max and I knew that, I'd probably go insane over it all. Thinking about everything [sp]left behind and my alternate versions suffering / dying, as well as Chloe.[/sp]
Makes the decision [sp]of ending Chloe's life when she's paralyzed a lot more poignant. I chose to OD her on morphine, cause I remember thinking "I know I'll just travel back to a different time, but the thought of leaving her here with no say over what happens to herself is horrible" which is why I killed her, even though at the time I ultimately thought it would make no difference[/sp]
I wish they took a little bit longer explaining that all in the final episode!! some real deep-hitting, heart-wrenching feels coulda been had

how are they in serious economic shit? I thought this game was a huge success. sucks to hear that, I really did enjoy the first 4 eps, and the 5th ep wasn't that bad. would love to see more games made by them.

I'm just going to butt in here randomly to say; This is why episodic games don't work. Only episodic games that I know of that haven't ended up being a disappointment are the first Walking Dead season and like Sam and Max I guess.
