I finished the first episode, I really enjoyed it. It still feels like Life is Strange to me, aside from the fact that there's a new mechanic to replace the reversal of time. If you enjoyed the first game I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy this

I'm going to play it now. The music in the first game was a big part of it for me and from what I've seen they seem to have gotten that part right.

Absolutely love the [sp]TalkBack[/sp] mode. Kinda funny to see just how nasty Chloe can be, especially with David. Music is spot on, nice to see the "sit down & relax" spots are still a thing too.
[sp]Also good to see (at least in the bit of Ep.1 I've played) how nice Chloe can sometimes be, i.e with the D&D game with Mikey & Steph. Wonder if we'll see her slowly become as bitter and hateful as she starts out in LiS?[/sp]
Just beat the first episode.
I am really impressed by it, it felt just like LiS, writing, voice acting, everything.
It's not often a Prequel (even Sequel) to games or movies, anything really, is on par or better than the first.
It feels like we just got more episodes of S1, really excited to play more.
Also I love the Talk back feature, it really adds to the game.
Tonally is it similar to the first LiS?

I went in expecting it to be a loooot worse than the first. I have been pleasantly surprised so far. About half way through, going by graffiti in the journal.

NGL [sp]PissHead[/sp] was my favorite cameo. That, "DAD'S DEAD!", and the boobs poster were probably the most memorable features of Chloe's room. I hope we get to see the debut of the last one sometime soon.
Dont mind the new voices at all. Chloe can easily be handwaved as being slightly younger and seemingly more timid here than when Max returns.
Also have a feeling spirit animals are a large part of the world of LiS. Ravens seem to be numerous in Arcadia Bay, possibly Rachaels spirit animal? Along with another totem pole at the park...

I was pleasantly surprised. Considering this was made by a completely different company, I was fully expecting this to just be a half-baked cash grab riding on the success of the first game. My only quarrel is that with it being only 3 episodes, I was expecting the episodes to be a bit longer than the S1 episodes, but it felt about the same length. Maybe the next few will be a bit longer.
I see that they are spent a night in the woods.
great episode nonetheless, although i did prefer the original's first episode for strong openings.
backtalk is a great mechanic, really makes you pay attention yet feeling somewhat nervous.
I removed the depth of field effect, the chromatic aberation and the startup intros if anyone else wanted to disable this stuff.

[sp]The fact that Rachel's "moment" at the end of the last episode where she seems to have some sort of power, isn't mentioned once in the entire episode. Later when Chloe is hanging up a picture of an elephant, she mentions it being the real "elephant in the room".[/sp]
[sp]Also, when she finds the pirate flag in the junkyard, she mentions something like "I wonder if there is anything buried here?"... Uhh yeah your best friend in a few months.[/sp]
