So, Heatran and Regigigas, and Raikou and Entei seem to be version exclusives...
GameFreak keeps forgetting one thing people liked about Emerald, Platinum and to a lesser degree Crystal, was getting to catch BOTH version legends in the same game. And not having that and, on top of that, turning into exclusives stuff that has no business being that, is just bad taste.
Leave the Regis in a single game, and have Regigigas appear once you have all three. Have the birds and the beasts linked to Lugia and Ho-Oh respectively. Hell, keep Tornadus and Thundurus separate, and have them get together to obtain Landorus. Make things interesting, rather than legendary hunts just for the sake of legendary hunts.

Each leader comes from a dimension where their team won. This was in the leak and was confirmed in the Japanese trailers. Supposedly Ghetsis has plans for Lillie (he has her captured in one of the Japanese videos, saying "You'll do as a puppet"), Cyrus wants to remake this world in his image, Lysandre actually talks about wiping out Kalos and the protag of this game not being "one of the special ones" and Giovanni [sp]Mega Evolves Mewtwo[/sp]

So if the villains are all from universes where they won, does that mean alternate Lysandre succeeded in murdering literally everyone on Earth? I guess the alternate R/S universes are probably in pretty bad shape too.
Neither Archie nor Maxie could control their respective legendaries when they awakened them for their schemes though, so how exactly did they "win" in their own universes?

The main focus is the Switch game, which has the old guard working on it now while most of the newer people within the company are working on this one. Can't say I'm surprised by oodles of fanservice in between the SM and USM, as it was toted as the 20th anniversary game.
It's a shame they're using OG design Archie and Maxie for the villain comeback. They had by far the most bland and uninteresting design until ORAS came out and made both of them amazing.

Maybe it's so they have an excuse to not use mega-evolution or something...

One thing I should bring up that I think is really shitty with USM is some of the legendary distribution. For whatever reason Raikou, Entei and Suicune were split up, Raikou in Moon, Entei in Sun and you need both to get Suicune. Then on top of that, instead of unlocking Regigigas when you get the Regis, it's exclusive to Moon and is the counterpart to Heatran.

Heatran is a good example of a legendary that has no plot relevance in either the main games or an anime movie, making it forgettable to people who never played gen 4.

I haven't played since the beginning of gen 7, but Pokemon TCG is one of those card games that if you don't run tiered decks you are going to get destroyed, unlike many modern digital card games where you have still have fun times with a half-baked deck. You may still try the game out and play against AI to get a bearing on basic rules, but if you are looking to having a decent time against human opponents I highly suggest grinding card packs or beg for codes from physical card players if you are not looking to spend.
