Same deal as with ORAS.
I had a good handful of shiny pokemon I was kinda excited to use in the main plot, that way they won't just be sitting in a box. So much for that I guess
I won't go into full details with it, but for whatever reason the Ultra Wormhole traveling mechanic uses the DS's motion controls of which you are required to play it once during the story campaign. Upon the main story's completion, speak to the Aether Foundation person in Game Freak's office to switch the controls between motion and the control stick.
The story is a remix of SM, still handholdy, still cutscene-y. Oh and they changed the call for help mechanic so wild Pokemon will call for help until they summon something, then never again after the summon is KO'd. The only way to chain multiple Pokemon is using the Adrenaline Orbs. Also Game Freak changed wild items so that Chansey carries the Lucky Punch, Blissey carries the Lucky Egg. Chansey is no longer a wild call but instead found on the Poni Planes in shaking plants.
What's the soonest opportunity you get to trade between games online? I was wanting to do a team-locked challenge run (same team the whole game) but no Bank means I'm SoL spoilers-wise, unless someone can help me out :ohno:
it seems they are cutting right to the chase with the starter picking. I'm still not interested in any of them, however

If I wanted to use a cool Grass type, I'd use Shiinotic, Mantine for Water, and UB Burst for Fire.
I'm dissapointed (light UB spoilers, just in case) [sp]Poipole is obtainable at level 40 and not something like 5, bringing it with you on another save file as your partner would've been very cool, but on the bright side I guess it means less grinding to increase its level[/sp]
Speaking of [sp]Poipole and Naganadel were made by James Turner. He posted Poipole's concept art on his Twitter. https://twitter.com/JamesTurner_42/status/931516761970688000[/sp]

I don't know what y'all talking about the gen 7 starters have been the most solid trio overall since gen 3
Don’t think I’ve ever been more disappointed in a starters evolution progression than Popplio.
Don’t think I’ve ever been more disappointed in a starters evolution progression than Popplio.
I don't know, personally I think the oshawatt line ranks pretty high in terms of disappointment.
I don't know, personally I think the oshawatt line ranks pretty high in terms of disappointment.
Gen 5 starters were pretty lackluster but I’ve never had a problem with Samurott
Gen 5 starters were pretty lackluster but I’ve never had a problem with Samurott
I mean I wouldn't say I hate or even dislike any of the starters in any gen, I just like that one the least I guess.
I don't think I've ever disliked a starter, I just get sort of bored of them sometimes.
I don't know what y'all talking about the gen 7 starters have been the most solid trio overall since gen 3
i'll never forget the mega :sbhj: swampert
I don't know what y'all talking about the gen 7 starters have been the most solid trio overall since gen 3
Ehh. Popplio was an easy pick for me, first time around, because I'm a sucker for Fairy types. Litten was unfortunately instantly put to the side because Incineroar was incredibly boring with its "fighting-type-but-it's-actually-a-dark-type" thing going on. I get the heel wrestler thing going on, I still am incredibly bored by yet another fighting-themed fire starter. And Decedeye... Idk why, but I'm just not interested in him. So I think I'm going to go starter-less this time around.
I don't think I've ever disliked a starter, I just get sort of bored of them sometimes.
I get bored of them during the pre-launch hype since they're usually the first thing we ever learn about new games. so by the time the games release I'd rather just save the slot for something new
There we go, turns out I still had my old 3DS, and traded the team to Ultra Sun that way. For clarification, I'm doing a sort of pseudo-NG+ challenge, where I've bred perfect first-forms of my E4 team in Sun, leveled them all up to 3, and am going to play through the entire game with only them. No catching wild pokemon (except shinies and legendaries of course), no switching pokemon in or out of the team, no exceptions. Until I beat the E4 again, the only thing I'm allowed to change are their moves and held items.
The NG+ idea is pretty cool. Personally, I like to shake it up, so I've restricted each new team to being Pokémon I've never used before. The only exception is Porygon, because it's my favorite Pokémon. :)
Friend bought me Ultra Sun today and got next day shipping so I Should have it tomorrow :v:
I'm still amazed that we're 21 years into this franchise and they still haven't added save files on the main series line nor difficulty modes or new game+. Well the DID add difficulty in B2W2 but they fucked that up in every way possible.
I won't be surprised when even the switch games don't have those sorts of essential game features
This is my all time favorite game and Super Mario too.
So I get I have to use orbs in SOS chains now too, but how do they work? Can I just use one and it reverts the entire encounter to how it was in Sun/Moon? I wanna get a pink sheep and sounding like it's not going to be worth the hassle anymore :(

The most creative postgame thing the series ever did was Kanto in gen 2 And, I mean, even if it wasn't everything they wanted it to be, it's still pretty hard to top that
I don't know, personally I think the oshawatt line ranks pretty high in terms of disappointment.
Dewott was my favorite mid evolution along with Marshtomp and Bayleef with starters. Samurott sort of killed my interest, i felt they could have done way better than that and i'm not against 4 legged types.
