The patch doesn't convert GS into Crystal, it's just a VC patch for Crystal itself. You can drop a Crystal ROM in there and it will work with all multiplayer functions.
Makes me wonder, though, does that patch include the Celebi event, or would someone have already pointed that out? Maybe they made the decision to add Celebi later on in an attempt to sweeten the deal (since Crystal is getting a late release).

It's not specified if it's the GS Ball/Ilex Forest event exactly, but the official site does confirm that it's an in-game event:

I went in to [sp]Mila's[/sp] trial since everyone seemed to be hyping it up to be the hardest thing ever.
My [sp]Toxapex took over 3/4 of its health with a Venoshock despite +3 spdef and the poison did the rest of the job, taking down Ribombee in 3 turns[/sp].
Somehow it was the only totem I didn't struggle horribly on.
Related to Burmy stuff, what are the general thoughts on Pokemon that have variations, like the Burmies or Alolan variants of older Pokemon? Is it fine the way it is now, or could there be a whole new avenue for subspecies such as this (and tons of other fanart with similar theme)?

I installed homebrew for the mod that removes the outlines. It's amazing how just much more performance you get from one little tweak.

And I've been looking forward to the remake since heart gold and soul silver. And I just assumed the remake for gen 4 would be on the 3ds. But it's pretty much confirmed it'll be on the switch since there won't be any more Pokemon games on 3ds. And I'm so happy with that.
It could be possible that the next Pokemon game on the switch is a D/P remake

They wouldn't do a remake as their first game for a new console. I'd expect it a bit later down the line.

If they kept up with the habit they had at first (remaking Gen1 for Gen3, Gen2 for Gen4), we'd be up to remaking Black/White. And that blows my god damn mind.
I want R/B/Y in full 3D.
