If they went the way of a remake/revisit to an older generation, I'd like to see a combination of Gen I and II, taking place in the 3yr gap between the games. It would also be cool if you could decide which region to start in and have two save files on one copy of the game.
A lot of things happened in Kanto in between the 3 years that could be cool to see as part of the story. Cerulean Cave collapsing, Cinnabar Island getting destroyed by a volcano, Mt Moon suffering from rock slides, the power plant getting rebuilt, and the Pokemon Tower becoming a Radio Tower with a new grave site being built.

Ahem, so, shouldn't Cresselia be the Ultra Moon counterpart of Heatran, rather than Regigigas? Seriously, making SUICUNE require both Raikou and Entei, but turning Regigigas into a version exclusive just feels awkward.
(Also, why haven't we gotten intensive sprite rips for USUM? Last year we had a pretty intensive selection of SM's at the spriter's resource by December...)
I just want the option to buy HG or SS on virtual console. I don't want to have to pay the ridiculous amount people are demanding on ebay/amazon and risk getting a fake. I'd buy them in an instant on the Switch.
If we got Kanto again, the region should he built completely from the ground up. ORAS got away with reusing the grid layout from the originals more or less, but that shit would not fly whatsoever with Kanto. No more routes that consist of one screen, layouts of randomly placed fences, or cities built around a volcano that are missing the actual fucking volcano.
Kanto is praised for being nonlinear and freeform compared to it's successors, make it feel like a vast and living open world.

Nobody has bothered yet.
You should be able to just mount the .romfs with fuse-3ds and have at it.
I'm betting on them pulling a BotW in making the region(s) a choose your own adventure with the world growing and trainers becoming more challenging as you earn badges.

It really is a shame how the second-hand Pokemon market has become so saturated with fakes. Buying a GBA or DS Pokemon game is basically a crapshoot now, even if you buy from supposedly reputable places like GameStop.
And of course, they're so widely faked because every game in the series is still sought after and played today. Nintendo is missing out on loads of money by not redistributing them digitally. Or hell, even reprinting the DS games physically would net them good extra cash. They're all still playable on 3DS, so just slap a "also compatible with 3DS" sticker on them and they'd be good to roll. I know at least HGSS would sell like hotcakes, because like you said they're the most expensive of the bunch. Just print new copies that don't come with the Pokewalker.

Fun fact: They actually started doing this commercial series in Japan centered around the idea of transferring Pokemon up from old generations. Would've made a great tie-in if the old games were actually still being distributed.

I lost a few games and getting legitimate copies was a pain in the ass. Black 2 was the hardest for me and I just settled with a japanese copy because I had white 2.
I just got Pokemon Moon, i'm a bit disappointed that some Pokemon aren't available (or only available through trading which I probably won't be able to do). Was this the case with previous games too?
